OPTION FIVE

Reaching the roof, Anna finally breathed— goddamn, those were a lot of stairs. Taking a breather, she looked up— as it turned out, she wasn't the only one with the bright idea to come to the roof. She couldn't help but glare. What a chore, I could easily do this alone, ugh— she thought, merely observing the small group up there.

After acquainting themselves with their hero names and realizing they all had the same idea— to search for an answer, they had all decided (well, she honestly couldn't say no, to be honest, that robot was just... staring at her as if threatening her)to collaborate in the pursuit of whatever was attacking them. Anna rolled her eyes at the other guys suggestion— a team name. Team. "What makes you think we're a team, hun?" She snapped— "We're just collaborating on this, nothing else." She pursed her lips for a few seconds, before speaking out again— "That's a stupid name, by the way. If anything, we should be named Spectacular," She made a gesture with her hands, "As in, us being amazing. Which we are— At least, I don't know of any of you kiddies, but I know I am."

Anna looked around nervously. "That is to say, if we were a team. Which we're not." Thank god she was wearing makeup. If she wasn't, her face would be completely flushed from how embarrassed she was— she had sounded so childish.

She turned towards the ledge, taking off her skates again and leaping onto the large railing, standing en pointe for a few aching seconds— to assess the situation better —before turning around and going down.

"There are a lot of ships... I think we should go over there or find an alien or something. Easiest way for us to get p—" She stopped suddenly, threading her words into another sentence, "I mean, easiest way to help them." Anna suggested. Soon enough, the others were in favor with her idea... Or not, but well, who cared? They came along anyways. Along the way, she found a first aid box— hell, who knew what could happen? They were aliens after all, she had to be prepared. She took it and held onto it securely, then continued, passing the group and going ahead, to notify them if she saw anything.

After a few minutes, Anna heard some hissing noises in the distance. Rolling herself to a stop some ways far from the orange skinned being, Anna wrinkled her nose. "Hey darlings, I see an orange thing from over heeerree and it just saw me..." Anna blinked, then began skating back toward the others. "...IT SAW ME IT SAW ME GUYS IT'S COMING OVER HERE—" Anna was in panic, oh my god it was an alien coming towards her while it was spitting and sputtering and hissing and god it looks disgusting it's going to attack me oh my god

She stopped panicking for a minute, and thought— What is wrong with you?? Running in the face of danger? Her father taught her to be better than that!

Anna braced herself and twirled around, pursing her lips and thinking strategy. Okay okay uh what do we have that could help um floor wall air first aid two flashlights a chocolate b—

Flashlights?
Anna blinked, whispering the suggestion to the group while staring at the quickly approaching alien with adrenaline coursing through her veins. Yes, this might actually work!

Strangely enough, the team had gone along with the plans willingly without any arguments or objections. K.O. was proud to be part of a team that was willing to face danger, despite what Anna had said. The young man gladly explained his identity and powers to Sparkie and the rest of the team as they continued their travels. He mentioned his skill in hand-to-hand combat and power to sense and manipulate electricity to a very small extent. Sparkie had clearly proven she was better earlier when she fired a bolt at him and AIMI. One thing Knock-Out kept secret from the others was his identity as 'Kale Olivan.' He didn't really want them knowing his real name.

On there way to the spaceships, Anna had stumbled upon some strange creature that was obviously from out of this world. She seemed so frightened and it was adorable. Come to mention it, a lot of his team members were extremely cute. Use his flashlight? Please. K.O. kept his flashlight clipped on his side and stepped ahead of Entrechat and cracked his knuckles as he laughed. While the alien did look a bit vicious, with the teams combined powers, they could easily take down one of these aliens and learn more about them in the process. Maybe the group could even learn more about its intentions if they capture it.

"I got this, Powder-Puff." He commented as he held his hands out like a wrestler. It was as if he was about to take down a wild animal. What idiotic bravery he showed at this moment. Unless most of the team was to vote against him, there would be no way he was going to back down. There were no other signs of life around them, so why not?
"We can take the alien. Five on one?! No problem Ladies." He tried to convince the others with his cockiness.

It seemed to Phoebe like she was the only one in the newly dubbed Team Mindshocker who was actually using her mind, or trying to. The others didn't seem go get the very basic concepts of stealth and recon, and her only choices were following them reluctantly or going it alone. The thought of being ambushed by herself was not a comforting one, so she gave a very put-upon sigh and chased after the others.

And, of course, she was right. There was an alien there, and it didn't look terribly friendly, though there was no way to be sure. If they had gone with a more subtle or creative approach, they might have been able to sneak up on it, but now they had been seen and their options were considerably more limited. Phoebe looked at one girl, who was fiddling with her flashlight, and at the guy, who suggested taking the alien out themselves.

"Are you nuts?" she hissed back, eyes widening. "What if it's not trying to hurt us? We could cause an interplanetary incident!" If it attacked, that was another story, but before that happened there had to be a less hasty means of resolving this issue. "Shouldn't we try to negotiate first?" Even if they didn't speak the same language, surely they could still find a way to communicate.

While you and your team mates approached the vaguely insect-looking alien with the best of intentions, waving and making other various friendly gestures, it seems like your peaceful intent didn't get through at all. Instead of returning your greeting it merely let out an ear shattering screech and lunged at the nearest rookie, just barely missing them with it's long, sharp claws. It turned to attack once more, a growl rumbling deep in it's throat. It's apparent the alien doesn't seem friendly- what now?!

        1) Attacking it would just make things worse- you don't want conflict! It would be best to hold your ground, defending yourselves while still trying to show the alien you weren't interested in harming it.

        2) There was no way you were going to take that lying down! It was time to act, and fight back. There were more of you, after all- and you had your powers, of course! Your vote goes to retaliating against the alien.

        3) Nope nope nope- you weren't prepared to deal with this. While you really wouldn't want to face it and those claws in a fight, you're fairly sure you could outrun it. You strongly suggest that your group hightails it back to the Academy.

Don't forget to make your decision before the next bit is posted!
The next set of options will be posted on the 25th, roughly around 4am. Have your votes in by then~
Remember to make your character's choice clear and in bold, using the number listed above somewhere in your post! If you do not, your vote won't be counted.

They all approached the alien, Elijgah made sure she stayed in the middle so that she wouldn't get attacked head on or look like a coward. She silently snickered at the comment that K.O. had said. " hm i happened to like the idea of giving us an name, makes us seem more legit" she said to Entrechat with a little smile, now she didn't wanna start trouble but some people need to just be put down. They all slowly approached it when it turned and saw them and it went crazy. It made this high pitched noise that drove her crazy, and she quickly clasped her hands over her ears.

"ugggh be quite you stupid alien, guys we need to do something!" she yelled as it continued hissing and trying to take swings at them.

She opened her eye's and looked at it with a sincere face and trying to stay calm, so she wouldn't scare it. she lurked out of the middle of the group and held out her hand, as if offering it a hand shake or to show that she and the rest of them mean't no harm. "see little guy we aren't hear to hurt you we are here to welcome you, if you can be quiet and nice to us" she said with a smile.

WHOOSH!!!, the alien jumped from where it was and Elijgah had just barely been scrapped by the angry alien as she turned and shot a little electricity out at it.She was breathing super fast and heavy. "Seriously and alien just tried to attack me!" she said with amazement, at this point she had almost had it up to there with the alien. Somehow though she knew to keep her calm and all she could do was try again but show that they were not gonna be fazed by the almost attack.

She quit her worrying and tried to look strong and reassure her 'friends' she was ok. She just stood there looking at the alien and when it approached she shot a small amount of electric out at the ground in front of it. " come on guys we can't give up on showing it we mean peace? don't you think" she said, but knew they would most likely not listen to an 8 year old.

Knock-Out turned his head towards Pheobe for a moment and held his arms out with a shrug. Was he nuts? Apparently his team didn't see the expression on the aliens face. Since he was the only one who wanted to fight, maybe that did make him a little crazy. "You're the one who's nuts." He tried to convince both her and himself. This thing was bound to lunge and kill at any moment.... And he was right!

Suddenly, the alien let out a loud shrill that made him cover his ears. When he turned to look at it, it leaped at him with a violent intention since he was currently the closest. He chuckled like a maniac as he leaned far to the side, making it barely miss it's attempt to slash at him. "That was fun," he briefly thought as he defensively threw up his fists. "See?!" The young man got back into his fighting stance as it prepared for another attack.

The red creature attacked again, barely hitting little Sparkie. The poor girl... But K.O. had warned them. Then she wanted them to continually attempt to come to terms with it? Nonsense! It obviously didn't speak English, not to mention that it was already in the process of attacking them.

"Now that is a crazy idea. This thing needs to be taken down. You're all insane~! Hahaha" He told them with a cackle, knowing dang well that he was probably the only one out of this group who had to spend time in an insane asylum. Knock-Out got ready to fight it again, hoping the others wouldn't intervene with any queer ideas.

OPTION TWO

"Powder what?" Anna snapped, her body abruptly standing straight as she stared at him with a huff, pouting and crossing her arms. She lifted her nose slightly, giving a small 'hmph' as she surveyed the situation. "If you actually thought about it, you'd realize that most of us, meaning memory or whatever girl over there, baby spark, and I, have no offensive abilities whatsoever. I can't fight, only distract, thank you very much." As she was giving her little speech, Anna glared at the red haired girl, disregarding her suggestion. "What are you talking about?! It's hissing, growling, in a hostile pose and with a menacing look on its face. What else can you gather from that? It obviously does not want pe–" Anna's eye twitched. "K.O, what in Binary's name are you doing you idiotic baboon! Get away from it—" Her already pale face became whiter when the thing struck out, and she almost screamed, but then he dodged, making her let out a small eep instead. She let out a small exhale and then looked toward the 8 year old—

Oh my god— She thought, staring dumbfoundedly at the alien lunge at the girl— but she dodged as well. Thank goodness. She honestly didn't feel in the mood to see blood or anything even remotely close to it.

Anna pursed her lips into a tight line, watching the girl create sparks to ward it off. Hm... Maybe we could create a distraction and get away? Anna blinked at the 8 year old. Suddenly, her expression morphed into pretend happiness, and her voice became sickeningly sweet and obviously very sarcastic, dragging every word. "Oh, of course it'll listen to us! Then we'll make a truce and they'll go back to their home land and we'll be peaceful and happy for the rest of our lives, with rainbows and butterflies all around!" Anna's face suddenly hardened, her voice going stone cold and her eyes glaring. "Of course not! Do you honestly think we can risk that? This is real world, honey, not a figment of your imagination. I'd rather run, we have a pretty good chance right now."

Anna looked toward K.O. with one perfect brow raised, and turned toward the rest of them— "For once I agree with that psychopath. We should take it down, given as I'm pretty damn sure none of you will agree to running away."Anna then turned back toward K.O. "We're insane? Do you even hear yourself speak sometimes?" Anna turned around, obviously bitter. This is such a drag. I wanted to go to the front lines and actually be seen by others. Why did I agree to this?

Things were just going from bad to worse, and Phoebe had no idea what to do. Not that she would ever admit such a thing. She was smart and well-read and had all sorts of information, so there had to be some sort of solution she could come up with. Her brain just hadn't gotten the memo yet. Once it did, everything would be fine.

Unless the others got them killed first. "Yes, I'm the one who's nuts," she said bitterly, rolling her eyes. She hated, absolutely hated, when people questioned her intelligence or sanity, despite the fact that she did both on a regular basis. "Not you, the one who's all gung-ho to bash in alien skulls and gets mad when it wants to defend itself. That makes so much sense." And the pink-haired girl, despite having moments of clarity, was just as bad. "It wasn't like that before! Not until some people needed to make things worse." Why was she stuck with a bunch of idiots who couldn't connect the dots? She was about to argue more, but the fact that the alien had actually attacked had thrown her for a loop, and she had to wait for her heart rate to settle back down to something approaching normal before she could speak again.

Truthfully, Phoebe still thought that the alien was only hostile because certain members of their party had been hostile first. It took a show of faith in order to establish trust, she knew that. But it had made her look bad by attacking when she had advocated peace, and her confidence in being able to handle the situation without resorting to violence had been shaken. "Fine, whatever," she muttered, not liking to concede but liking the possibility of ending up an alien's lunch even less. "Just don't blame me when this whole thing blows up in our faces."

((Phoebe reluctantly chooses Option Two!))

User ImageDebating quickly, Team Shocktacular sprung into action against their assailant. Surrounding the clawed alien, they summoned up whatever abilities they had, refusing to allow the insect-like alien to get away with attacking one of their own. This only seemed to infuriate the alien further, who continued to wail in a pitch so high that you were fairly sure no human vocal cord could ever replicate it. Unluckily for your team, the alien's combat skills were far more honed than your own despite your advantageous super human powers. It soon became clear to everyone that you were no match for this alien...! Spinning in wild circles to both dodge and deflect your team's various attacks, it seemed barely phased by your efforts to stop it. While Team Shocktacular put up a valiant fight, none of the young rookies were any sort of match for the red alien. The last thing you can all recall is the alien whipping around long claws half hazardously, heading towards you...

You wake up in the Academy infirmary, with the ever androgynous Drew tending to you and your teammates. You all suffer relatively minor wounds; thankfully, it seemed like the alien refrained from actually cutting you with those terrifying claws. After you all regain consciousness and Drew gives you the thumbs up to leave, s/he suggests you head to Sidekick Academy's headquarters. You all agree, heads buzzing with curiosity and minor concussions.

Once more we'd like to apologize for the delay in wrapping up the CYOA, and thank you for your patience! The long overdue final posts for each of the individual teams are now up- you are free to roleplay in these threads if you would still like. An event conclusion post, along with prizes, should be up within the next week or so. Thank you for participating, despite our hiatus we hope you had fun!
