Chaonis agreed. The youma looked very pitiful, with its little furry face and its angry growls. It did not seem to have a mouth at the moment, just two large eyes set in a large head that balance atop its triangular body.
It was perched, looking innocent enough, but anyone who knew youma from dogs would understand that the monster would come out in due time. They were made from Chaos and designed for one purpose.
Even if they looked harmless, they still wanted to eat everyone.
Chaonis grinned and nodded his head.
He leaped toward it and it burst into activity in a burst of energy. It turned toward him and leaped at him, flying off the ground with its two large feet forward, ended in large claws that now looked like talons. Its head seemed to split in two, straight between its eyes, revealing a cavernous mouth with what seemed to be thousands of teeth.

When Chaonis jumped at the youma, whatever Maia was expecting, it certainly wasn't a mouth full of razor sharp teeth that looked like it might devour you whole and still be hungry for more.
"Be careful," she warned moving to the side decided she preferred to try to get at the thing from the rear. No she wasn't about to get in the way of all those teeth with nothing but fabric in between it and her skin. Of course there was magic to, but that was easier sad then done.

That thing looked like it was a breathing lawn mower, and they needed to kill it.
Immediately.
Chaonis had never hated a youma as much as he hated this one, but he would be damned if he was going to admit that out loud and look like a sissy by being scared of such a tiny and fluffy thing. He growled at it, and looked at Maia as the youma growled back. It's whole split head, mouth, thing vibrated angrily.
It turned on Maia, though, snarling viciously and leaping at her first. She might have been half a step closer to it now, or maybe it just liked the smell of her better.

Maia gave a firm nod trying not to roll her eyes when her friend growled at the youma. She could appreciate the humor of the moment, well until the thing decided to go after her, startling her momentarily. She wanted to avoid a thousand tooth marks to the leg.
Her momentary pause lost her a little time, so she couldn't run, so she did the only thing she could thing of. She jumped up pulling her legs up as close to her as should could attempting simply jump over the thing. It was easy enough, as senshi could leap onto a building rooftop if they want, it just didn't guarantee they thing wouldn't still try to go after her.
"Distract it," she shouted. As long as Chaonis could gain its attention for just a few moments, she could hit it with her song and it'd be easy to finish without Chaonis potentially destroying something.

"Got it," Chaonis said.
He was a very good distraction, most of the time: he was good at fighting and he was good at annoying the hell out of people. Youma were no different in that regard. He ran into the fray and smacked the youma hard on the head, then bounced away as it recoiled and tried to rip him apart.
There was no problem here for him, trying to keep the thing looking at him while Maia worked her magic. He knew a plan when he saw one, even if she had not spelled it out for him. He had been fighting a long time, after all, so picking up on simple cues like that was just part of the game at this point. Plus, he was just content to get some hits back on the youma, for its earlier transgressions.
The Eternal Senshi of Danger had the youma's full attention. it was lumbering toward him and snarling at him viciously, its large mouth hole vibrating in a strange way that generated the terrible sound. Chaonis was not scared of it though, and he laughed as he kept it chasing him.
"Do your thing, Maia!" he said, since he didn't have much room to work with.

Maia watched as her friend distracted the youma in a way that was very uniquely Chaonis, or at least she thought so. She love this sort of easy teamwork and wished that more of the senshi could have it. It would make their lives far easier if they could really band together, but they were still a ways of from that.
With the youma's attention fully on Chaonis, Maia hardly need a signal, but it was appreciated to know he knew exactly what she was up to. She gave a grin, "You go it Chaonis, one musical storm coming up!"
She turned calling out her attack, "Absolute harmony." The music filled her and she sang out the notes that by now were so familiar to her, watching them fill the air and spin on in a tornado at the youma.
"Watch out," she called although she was sure Chaonis knew not to be caught in the notes.

Chaonis leaped back and away from the youma as Maia used her magic on it, not wanting to get caught in it. He was often getting in the cross hairs of senshi attacks. Sometimes on accident. A lot of the time on purpose. But still.
He didn't usually end up liking it, so he was being cautious.
"Got it!" Chaonis said, letting her magic move to the youma instead of him. he watched with keen interest, though he was sure he had seen the attack before, just liking the way it looked and the way it worked. There was something cool about senshi magic, how they all had their own and everything was different. Even from one stage to the next, it was different for the user and for those it was used again. If he were more a fan of learning, he might have admitted that he was interested in seeing other Senshi and their attacks, and finding out what kind of limits their magic had.
But that would be a lot of work, and he was just not that kind of a guy.
"Alright, let's dust this thing!" he whooped, though he didn't race in because he didn't know if it was safe to yet.

Maia watched as her magic hit the youma, while Chaonis got out of the way. The youma was confused to say the least trying to attack as opposed to avoid the notes, which was the wrong thing to do. It was hit by note after not in the person sided tornado and calmed with every hit.
When the notes had all dissipated they were left with a docile puppy of a youma who wasn't much good for anything outside of a weak snap and a annoyed growled as it limbs were to heavy for anything and it couldn't much move.
She grinned at Chaonis and nodded to "beast", "you can do the honors. That things not getting up for a few minutes." Three to be exact. but she doubted it would be much more than dust by then.
She had to admit youma dusting with friends was kinda of nice, if you didnt think about it to much.

Chaonis grinned and cracked his knuckles in anticipation. He was always up for youma dusting, and this guy had really earned it. The Senshi moved without much pause, not caring that the beast was incapacitated. That was the whole point, after all, and there was never a time when Chaonis felt bad for a youma.
Some people tried to argue that they could have been people once, but Chaonis flew by the zombie theory. Zombies were once human, but they died and then they became monsters. That made them beyond help, beyond saving, and beyond pity. It was kill or be killed and in a zombie apocalypse, Chaonis would make sure no zombie got near him.
That was much like how he approached youma.
"Time to go, pal!" he yelled as he leaped at the thing, throwing his whole body into his punch as he slammed his fist into what he thought was the weakest looking part of the monster. He was right, or at least close enough for it to work out, and the youma burst into dust after just the hard hit. Chaonis grinned and bounced back, beaming at Maia.
"Now that's how it's done!"

Maia laughed and rolled her eyes at Chaonis, but grinned despite it all. "That is indeed how it is done," she remarked continuing to smile. She stretched and frowned a moment later as her stomach let out a loud growl.
That was the plight of a senshi, you were awake and often extremely active at the most ridiculous hours, which meant you were often eatting around the clock. She flushed bright red and gave a small laugh, "I agree with my stomach, pizza sounds like a nice idea right about now."
She looked around then back to her friend letting her powered persona go and sighing, "know any good places still open this late. If I dont get something I'll probably eat my own arm." She was kidding of course about eatting her arm, but fully serious about getting food. Pizza sounded nice, but she'd go for just about anything right now.
"Now that I think about it," she frowned lightly as her stomach growled again, "I pretty sure I forgot dinner."

"Yeah, I know a place," he said, nodding his head. There were a few late night pizza places here, because there were so many schools and students to feed that they realized it was a nice little market to be had. And for that, Chaonis was glad. Not that he was a late night student needing pizza to get through a study session at any point, but he did often go out and cause some late night havoc.
And of course, these patrols.
"We'll make sure you don't eat your arm. Come on." He powered down to lead her toward the pizza place, doubting they would serve 'terrorists', and not having any money on his powered form, anyway. As if he would pay. Maybe, if he was feeling particularly nice at the end of the meal.
But probably not.
It was always nice to hang out with his friends, though, and in his small ways he liked to show them that he appreciated it. That was just hard to do with his attitude issues. He imagined Maia was one of the few that already understood him, so he didn't have to work that hard. He was glad patrolling could be called done tonight, and his stomach was in agreement.
Pizza was a good way to end the night.
