Ofelia might have giggled just a little bit at how Rep decided it was time to talk to Jake, she sort of approved on how he did it since it wasn't at all directed towards her. The techs had finished setting up the portal, everyone was good to go in, and the teen merely motioned with her hand for them to follow before she stepped inside.
Once again the heat and humidity hit her like a wet blanket, not to mention the smell of age and decay, and the teen looked around. They'd come out right in the middle of a patch of woods, covered head to toe in....well, dolls. Creepy a** dolls.
Perfect.
"Okay so - the mission here is ta look inta the disapperance'a some news reporters? 'Bout two weeks ago they came an' vanished wit'out a trace an' any team sent after ta get 'em hasn't fared so well either." Ofelia had started waiting to speak until the rest of her team was in, this time sort of determined not to ******** up as badly as she had with Melvin and Jake her first go round. "Plan is, we're gonna stick tagether as we go - this is technically a jungle an' even though there are lots'a tree wit' different dolls we got nothin' we can use as a proper marker fer out path, yanno?"
Also there was the fact that maybe, just maybe, she had finally figured out that the reason the people in those photos weren't shown, just their arms, was because all that was left was the arm. She wasn't ready to die just yet even though she'd been willing to get the bracelet. It was complicated. "Rep, can ya take point? Yer the strongest outta the three'a us by far, Jake yer a trainee so stick ta the center fer now. Ah'll walk drag. Even though we're stickin' tagether keep about five paces apart ta allow for reaction time - also, call out anythin' ya see. Sound good?" There really wasn't much room for talking, she didn't know if Rep would listen because she was female but since maybe she had invited him he'd give in on a mission. Also Jake didn't have much of a choice or else she'd kick his a**. "A'ight, let's get goin'. Supposedly there had a camp somewhere near here, or they should have had one - let's aim fer findin' it."
The teen ushered everyone to walk forward, ready to get this mission underway. It was easy to ignore the creepy dolls when she was talking to the others but now that it was time to go dolls were all she had to look at. A strange breeze seemed to pick up, rattling a few of them as they went, and the teen kept looking at them with wonder at who the hell would do this -
- just in time to see a doll of herself. Was it herself? It looked just like her, minus both eyes, and it even had a little Rue accessory on its hands. The teen shook her head and called to the group, wondering if they'd seen it as well. "Guys, maybe Ah'm jus' thinkin' hard but. . . .Ah think Ah saw a doll'a me on that tree." She said and pointed. "The report said they found dolls that looked like the news team . . . "
Ofelia hated dolls.

As they arrived at their destination, Rep took in their surroundings, only half listening to the buzz of Ofie's information overload, as far as he was concerned, he'd follow orders only insofar as they were directly aligned with his own motivations, and the idea of allocating positions just to walk in seemed bizarre and pedantic to him.
Ofie got a slow irritable look, his mouth set into a thin line as he summoned Tracey. So dolls that looked like people and a doll that looked like Ofie. There were probably a lot of dolls that had missing eyes and red hair, all things considered, he didn't get too upset about it yet.
It was going to be a long mission.
Heading off in his own direction with the assumption the others would tag after him, or not, he wandered into a cabin. It was empty for the most part other than a really cool statue of a wolf's head. He wanted to take it home with him, but after closer inspection, it seemed to be affixed rather firmly to the wall. There was a trap door too, but it wouldn't give, even as he tugged at it. Using Tracey as a pry bar only pissed the fallen angel off. He shrugged in resignation and headed back out to see if there were any other more useful things around.

Rep's comment only earned a cold stare, and he crossed his arms while waiting for Ofelia to get debriefed by the hunter. What a waste of time.
After the two stepped through the portal, he followed through, and a familiar wave of warmth washed over him. Having grown up in Rio, he was used to the heat, and he looked around with disinterest.
Dolls... on trees. Creepy-a** stuff. When Ofelia mentioned she saw a doll that looked like her, he wandered closer for inspection, and smirked when he saw it.
"Aww, looks just like you, all creepy and s**t."
He frowned as he looked at the other dolls, also missing eyes, and poked at one of them with his tonfa.
A couple maggots dropped from the one he poked, prompting a grunt in his head, and he lowered the tonfas and stepped back.

Ofelia could only sigh as Rep plowed on ahead, doing his deal, and she made an effort to keep up and ensure Jake did as well. An island full of dolls would be a horrible place to die, not to mention she'd be killed if not everyone came back, so Jake's comment about the doll being creepy like her only rewarded him with a smile. When it was his turn to find something she crushed one of the maggots underfoot, raising her leg up. "Aww, this looks just like you, crushed under my heel where you belong."
It was hard to tell if it was a threat because she moved along, ready to call to Rep to see if he found anything in the cabin, when the ground beneath her foot seemed to buckle and then crack. "Rep! Get ready!" Her words were choked by an overly familiar smoke billowing into her nose and mouth, so Rue was raised up to start. "Jake, yer on moon duty, back Rep up."
Something was coming, her nerves were on edge, and the fight had started. She wasn't going to make a mistake this time.

Another gas trap. This time Rep at least knew what to expect - it might have been impossible to evade inhaling the stuff, but it was possible to keep himself and his emotions in check.
He didn't know what to make of an unfamiliar hunter on moon duty, or trust if the other man would even do as Ofie asked since they seemed to get along about as well as oil and water. Hefting the massive axe up, he decided he would probably be better off going in for the first attack and waiting to see if the Death hunter actually backed him up than putting any sort of faith in him to pre-emptively do so.
"Aye, some cover would be ******** great." After all, it had made all the difference last time.

Jake only stared as the maggot met its impending doom under her sandle. Part of him hoped she had an open cut on her foot so that it'd get infected and she'd die.
He huffed. Right. Mission. Imaginary death threats later.
Trailing behind Ofelia with a bitter expression, when he felt the ground shake, and a familiar crack and hiss. Immediately, his arm flew up, sleeve covering his face as his eyes darted around for the enemy.
When Ofelia commanded him to defend the other redhead, he immediately dropped his hand and let out an indignant "WHAT?!", letting the smoke get into his mouth and prompting a coughing fit. It was bad enough he and Melvin were stuck defending her royal highness last mission, but now he had to do it for some other pushover? Greaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaat.
His eyes darted to the voice, frowning at Rep. Fine. FINE. Whatever to get this damn mission over with.

"Good boy." Jake, in the midst of all of it, got a pat on the head from Ofelia. It was the same a person would give a dog or a child, whichever came first, and the teen grinned as she got her weapon up. "Here we go."
There were dolls, or something, coming at the teen. She didn't like any of it, in fact she just sort of smacked it away, and she hissed at the backlash that tore into her shield. Her damage had been pathetic, but it was a good start. She had Rep there mostly if she needed someone just to act a brute an push on. "Rep, Jake's got yer back! Go fer it!"

Rep looked rather disgruntled as Ofie patronised the guy backing him up. If someone did that to him, he'd dig in his heels and stop instantly. He didn't want to be left on his own against the creature already rapidly being twisted and warped in his vision. "Ofie, ******** leave him alone."
The blow was glancing at best, but that was all it needed to be. His aim was a charge. He needed to get the big hitter out of the way before he'd have a solid idea of his strategy for the rest of this fight, wether he'd need to fall back and bandage or whether it would be his turn to cover Ofie or Jake. His usual attitude of picking fights with anyone and everyone was set on hold in favour of the mission. He rather liked his own hide, he wanted to bring it home intact.

Ofie's patting only got a glare as he shoved her hand away. "Don't TOUCH me." He was sick and tired of all these stupid girls thinking they had freaking entitlement over stuff. Stop treating him like a kid, and just keep your hands to YOURSELF, dammit.
Hearing Rep echo his distaste of having Ofie patronize him earned a quizzical look towards the sun hunter, but he didn't bother saying anything because really, who liked being patted on the head like some demeaning creature?
Gripping the blades tight, he continued to attempt fending off the creatures. At least this Rep guy wouldn't belittle him, so, fine, he would deal with defending for a while. Ofie could just go die in a ditch for all he cared.

"Okay, okay." Ofelia took a step back and shrugged, obviously caring enough at the moment to not piss either of them off - though it looked like it worked into getting Jake to care about protecting Rep. Perhaps it was out of spite against her (which she could and would use, no problem there) or maybe it really was because he was good at defending. Either way it was a good set up, she'd provide back up as needed, but when she went to take a step something got her ankle from behind.
It snagged her and pulled her back, preventing her from trying to strike, and all she got in return was a nasty hit from the enemy. It was something she could easily shrug off though, she was built from far more sturdier stuff, and so she continued to watch the others with the intent of providing help as needed.
Lots of things depended on Rep, not that she'd let him know it.

Rep was about as lovable most of the time as a bag of used hypodermic needles but if there was one thing he took pretty seriously, it was defence. A good defence made all the difference to a sun, and if he couldn't have Harrison here, he was happy to take on board anyone else who'd back him up.
The creature was still lashing out brutally at anyone who got near and his eyes darted to Ofie as it swung out at her specifically. Her shield was important, she couldn't afford to waste it. He wasn't trying to give out orders, merely opinions as he said sharply, brandishing Tracey at the creature, one minute a slender figure, the next a writhing mass of nightmare tentacles and tissue. " Ofie. Don't let it hit you, stand back. Let me blow my shield out, then I'll cover you." It was a waste letting her rattle it away without anyone backing her.

Wow, they were being all sorts of useless right now. Jake felt a little miffed his "perfect defense" (he's not a moon, cut him some slack ok) had been wasted. Just a little.
"Anyone feel like hitting the damn thing, or are we just here to have a freaking tea party?"
If he was going to be stuck on defending duty, he was going to make it just as miserable for the rest of them, yup. At least HE was taking his job seriously, despite how much he hated it.

Ofelia just....nodded her head at Rep, listening. She knew what he could be like with his ax, enough so that she just ignored Jake, and she raised her hands in favor of defending. It would provide a charge, at the very least, and she and Jake could protect him.
Of course she didn't do nearly as good a job as Jake, she wasn't a moon (or a death) after all, but it still would serve to ensure Rep's next move was entirely protected. "All eyes on ya, Rep!"

He let Jake whine for the time being, the guy was doing his job well, however impatient he was being and as long as he kept it up, as far as Rep was concerned he was free to complain all he wanted without getting snapped at. Ofie listening up too was a real boost to his confidence, maybe they could actually do this if they worked together.
He couldn't help but grin as the creature's claws were deflected effortlessly by the solid defence.
"You'll get your turn in due time."
As he struck out at the creature, Tracey lit up, runes flaring viscerally and bleeding off into the air as adrenaline coursed through his veins like the best drug in the world. A charge. Erratic, sporadic and dangerous, this was where he knew he'd need defence more than any other time, this was when he could make or absolutely break his own shield.
"Probably sooner rather than later." he smirked

There really wasn't much to say. Now he was stuck defending with Ofelia while both of them seemed to depend on the other redhead to dish out damage.
Teamwork. Ugh. He wasn't sure what propelled him to still keep defending. Probably the desire to just get this over with so he'd never have to come back.
