...Well, this was going well. Shooting Otto a pout, she wrapped her fingers tightly around Chara. "N-no, I'm fine! I just didn't know...how much climbing...and heights were involved in finding this altar, but I'm fine! Just fine!"
And as if to prove her point, she swung her weapon out--hard--and smacked the creature squarely on the head.

Eva was always supportive of him when he had to deal with dark places, so the least he could do is support her in a place of heights. "Alright.." He murmured.
Otto spun Tenya and tossed her back at the creature.

"I'm sure after we do this a few dozen times, you'll learn to deal with them." Otto said with theutmost faith. Excpet the faith was none. They'd not get this done and over with in one shot. These missions just didn't work like that.

She brought the blade down on the creature, staggering back when it retaliated by striking her. However, her expression of horror was not directed towards the monster, but to Otto.
A few dozen times. A few dozen!? "...There's no chance that I could just cling to your back like a koala bear, is there?"

Apparently the thought of her relying on him motivated him to deal a heavy hit to the creature, wielding Tenya like a bat and hitting the monster over and over again.

...She had not actually been expecting Otto to agree. Clasping her hands together in front of herself--which was kind of awkward, considering that she was holding Chara--she stared at Otto with the biggest doe eyes ever.
"Really? I mean, again, I'm not scared, but--hey, ow!"
The monster had decided to take that moment to hit her.

"O-oh. Thanks, Otto." She cast the monster a quick glance as it disappeared, before turning her grin to the boy. However, when he indicated that it was time to continue on, her expression suddenly became a little nervous. "W-wha? ...Oh, uh, yeah! I'm ready for this! Totally ready!"
Eva put on a look of determination as she marched forward, her movements stiff and awkward until she stopped in front of the cliff that they were supposed to scale. Taking a deep breath, she shot a little smile over her shoulder at Otto before reaching forward and grabbing onto one of the lower ledges, hauling herself up.
It was probably a mixture of fear and determination that had Eva climbing up that cliff like a freaking monkey.

Wow. Eva could really climb when she was scared.
Well, less he had to worry about her, anyway.
Otto took this time to begin climbing after her. Somehow.. it wasn't going as smoothly.

He was getting there, slowly but surely. Somehow he couldn't grip anything too well, each inch he gained seemingly met with another few lost as he slipped or hesitated.

He panted, leaning over and gripping his knees. "....s...Sup.."

Eva had managed to regain much of her breath by the time Otto clambered up, but she was still jittering. Seeing the boy make it up and over the edge safely earned a loud sigh of relief from the young woman, who reached out to hug him before shakily pushing herself back up onto her feet.
"I...I guess we keep going? I'm not sure what comes next, but--"
Now that she had finally calmed down from having to climb up that cliff, she was suddenly very much aware of the strange glow and the warmth that radiated from behind her. Stiffening, Eva turned very, very slowly...only to find herself face to face with molten lava pits.
"...You've got to be kidding." But it was too late to turn back. Or well, not really, but Eva didn't want to after she went through all that effort. Casting Otto an anxious look, she stepped forward...
And got a little splash of molten lava on her shoes, a surprised cry leaving her lips as it burned through the material. Oh geeeeez!
