LilChibiusa Spottedteddybears BY THE WAY YOU GUYS.
I've been wondering about this for a while... Since we'll have so many cohosts and so many character choices that overlap, will it be first come first serve, or will we have a system to choose characters? Or a meeting?
Although it will all get pretty messy!
I like the idea of the the choices. Have another one on deck just in case, and if multiple rooms request the same characters, then they can duke it out by giving their reasons why a certain character would be more useful in their own rooms. xd (That's an idea anyway. I'm terrible at organizing schemes sometimes.) I like this. Very much.

★ Another thing... for characters with no name (like the Time Traveler from H.G. Well's Time Machine) or no given first name (Like Griffin), can we make up a name? ★

In the case of character with at least one given name, (Griffin, Dracula, etc.) then it would be better to go with the given name even if it's not a full name. That way the character is still recognizable to the guests. If there is no given name... I'm undecided on that matter. Chibi may have a better idea in that case.

I think that if we take into account that using someone's given name is rather familiar and informal, it's not necessarily appropriate for characters to be using it even when it is known. For example when Jonathan Harker is a guest in Count Dracula's castle, Dracula addresses him as either Mr. Harker or sir. It's not appropriate for Dracula to be addressing him as Jonathan [even though it is known] based on the nature of their relations. [Technically the correct way to address Dracula is "Count Dracula" then either "my lord" if it is a very, very formal setting or just "Dracula" if it is informal. We also see him informally addressed just as "Count."] If you were to ask the Count himself as to which room he hangs out in, he would say that he's in the room of Mr. Gray and Miss Bell because that is how he is. Completely unnamed characters like the Time Traveler could be harder, but it would be appropriate for other characters to address him as "sir" when just talking to him even without knowing how to properly address him. I have not read the book so unfortunately, so I don't know how other characters actually addressed that character. Robayn
In the case of character with at least one given name, (Griffin, Dracula, etc.) then it would be better to go with the given name even if it's not a full name. That way the character is still recognizable to the guests. If there is no given name... I'm undecided on that matter. Chibi may have a better idea in that case.

I am neither host, nor co host, but I would love to be a character from the ball this year. I've mostly done behind the scenes stuff, so I really would love to roleplay a character this year.

Has everyone picked co-host characters yet? Mine are ready to throw in their bids for characters. biggrin
As for character names, whatever they go by most in the books (or most in certain circumstances) works for me. Of course, full names on the character profiles would be very helpful. Then, characters who don't have names, I would say make up one that sounds like it fits, and then have the character grumble that his/her name was never even mentioned in the story. rofl (But, if you look extremely closely, in many cases, a name will appear, if only briefly.)

Oh, and...I was re-reading the character list...Scarlett O'Hara is actually still a copyrighted character. Gone with the Wind was published in 1936, and the copyright was renewed in the '60s. Plus the author, Margaret Mitchell, died in 1949, so that was only 64 years ago. I don't want to be a party pooper; I just don't want to get anyone in trouble with the copyright fairies either. sweatdrop Well, it's in the public domain in Australia according to one site, but not in the U.S.
