Once he was at a point that he felt fairly well concealed, Kotaru began to scan the area for whatever had left the tracks. By this time he'd almost completely forgetten about the girl, right now it was jsut him in the target. And he took some small pride in the fact that he seemed to be more stealthy then the girl, inspite of her superior attitiude. Then again at the back of his mind he couldn't help but feel a mild connection to her, as if they'd gone through the same experiences as children.

She didn't want to cause anymore attention to herself then she really had to. She didn't bother saying anything to the boy because she figured that it would pretty loud at this point. Even a whisper could be heard by the most highly trained ears. They could be under watch right now and she wouldn't know unless if she really checked around the area. She didn't bother, they were in the woods with not many people but, they were close to the village so if they had to run then it wouldn't take so long to get back. Hoshi then looked around infront of her and she saw a small panda and smiled a bit. It probably wasn't anymore then a few years old. It was no dove but, it was still cute to her. Hoshi laughed softly and didn't say anything to the boy she wanted to see how he handled it himself. There was many things that could happen and many things that may not happen. This was going to be interesting. Yes quite interesting. Well, to her anyways. Awareness check: 13+3=16 Steal check: 5+11=16 (Reactions for Kotaru: When you look through a bush you see a panda staring back at you with the bow behind it. The bow appears to be chewed up a bit but, not bad enough that the owner wouldn't be able to fix it.) (Reaction for Hoshi: She sees the same thing as Kotaru.)

Kotaru stopped as he saw the Panda... He expecting something much more, vicious to put it mildly. Even though it was far more cute then vicious, he still figured the same rules to applied to cubs and thier mothers. Well at least the Panda didn't actually have the bow in it's hands, as long as he was careful he should be able to move around it. If he could do that he could grab the bow and quickly get make to the village.

She thought that it was a good idea for the boy to sneak around it instead of attacking. If the cub was around here the mother was probably somewhere near. It wouldn't look all that well if the boy was attacking the mother's cub. Hoshi laughed softly and watched the bear. Hoshi stared at the bear and it stared back. The bear lost sight of the boy but, it didn't care. The bear backed up towards the bow and growled at Hoshi. It was just a warning growl but Hoshi wasn't moving so she wasn't that much of a threat. Hoshi continued to stare into the cub's eyes. It was so cute. Hoshi smiled softly and continued to watch the panda. Awareness check for bear: 8 + 9 = 17

Kotaru's heart was beating as he slipped behind the bear, so far being light footed was paying off. Now to see if his thieving skills were up to snuff, if not... Well he was quick at least. He didn't know if Hoshi was, but up till this point didn't really care. She hadn't done anything to endear herself to him, and indeed he wasn't actively trying to endear himself to her. Going slowly forward he reached out and grasped the bow.

The bear looked back at her with a curious stare. The bear wasn't really used to that but, it took it as a sign of aggression and it stepped back a bit. It was a bit closer to the bow now but, it stared daggers into Hosh's eyes. Hoshi laughed softly and just stared right back at it. This mission was actually a little more fun for her then she thought it was going to be. She thought that it was going to be a boring mission but, this bear was slightly interesting. She hadn't seen a bear in a while. The bear sniffed into the air and it turned around and stared at the boy as he tried to steal the bow away from the cub. The bear wasn't so happy about it but, it stared at the boy. Hoshi sighed and stood up and walked towards the bear. She then patted it and told it to calm down and petted it. The bear looked at Hoshi and sat down and rubbed it's head against Hoshi's leg. Hoshi laughed softly and picked up the cub and patted it's head. Awareness check for Panda: 16+9=25

Kotaru was just preparing to run when Hoshi moved to pet the bear, which caused him to pause in amazement. Whatever he may have thought would happen, that wasn't it. Picking the bow completely he looked it over, despite having obviously being nawed on, it was still in useable condition. He was rather impressed with the design, after all it had stood up to being nawed on by a bear. "Ready to go?" He ask Hoshi as he looked up at her.

She then picked up a stick and gave it to the bear. Hoshi smiled softly and pet the bear one last time as she looked at the boy, Yeah, lets go. Good job. Hoshi laughed softly and turned around. Hoshi then started to walk the way they had come. Before she had got out of view of the bear, she took one last glance at it and smiled. She might see that bear again someday. At least they didn't have to fight it or anything. This was an extremely interesting mission considering the circumstances. Hoshi smiled and looked at the boy. Well, your mission is over. You handled it pretty well. Hoshi smiled a bit wider and looked back at the way towards the village.

"Wasn't that hard..." Kotaru said as he returned to look at the bow, his hand slowly going completely over it. It really was a beautiful bow to him, in fact it was the first weapon he had ever held. Because of this his appreciation of it was enhanced, it would likey carry through most of his ninja career. He probaly wouldn't even have it repaired, the bits of it having been nawed on giving it character.
