Malodore was quite ready to be done with Dark Wonderland for now; it wandered around, feeling a little bit at loose ends. When it spotted the scarf booth, though... well, plague doctors had very long necks, and a scarf was definitely a pleasant thing to have. After a bit of thought, it selected a long and comfortable orange and black striped scarf... and then, after a bit more, it picked out a second matching one. Riley would enjoy it! "Thank you, they are lovely," it said to the shopkeepers, politely. Conquest was, as always, a Clan of artistry.
... It wondered if she remembered the chimes, at all.

The colorful fabric drew the horseman in at first, but then the actual items at the booth caught her attention. Jay tugged at her own scarf as she eyed the current scarves on display. They were pretty, but not exactly to her taste. Perhaps she could create one of her own? Another scarf was always welcome. Who knew when this one would fall to pieces? It was already frayed at the edges, after all. She tentatively reached out for a fabric to make her own combination.
Rejected.

Ying's mouth opened wide as people flooded to her and her brother's booth. Was she a little suprised? Yes of co- ... No! Not at all! Zheng designs were flawless. She would bring honor to the clans this way!
She tut-tuted at a few of the people who had lined up. Especially Jay's choice of scarf and thread. Didn't she know that bright teal and subdued mustard did not go together? What a simpleton!
One horseman managed to please her. A nice dark colored thread to go with a dark fabric. "Ah yes- I can get that right to you!"
She disappeared behind their little stand, and returned moments later with a scarf. "I ... hope this would suit your tastes?"

To be honest, the scarf was plainly gorgeous: the design fitted perfectly into traditional Death aesthetics, yet it was stylish and fancy enough to impress even the most fashionable Halloweeners! And what's even more important, it was warm and cosy fuwa-fuwa desu!, exactly what she needed. "I'm very grateful, thank you", Heidla nodded her head, as she imagined conquest horsemen to do. "Congratulations with the perfect work". chimarii THANK YOU SOO MUCH, DEAR, IT'S JUST AMAZING! heart

Jay narrowed her eyes at Ying and stared at the array of fabrics before she picked out another combination.
She may or may not have picked out a worse combination out of spite.

To the death horseman, Ying just kind of

Perfect work. What a compliment! "Oh um ... thank you!" Ying said, bowing quickly. "Thank you very much.."

Still grumpy, the witch stomped over to a booth littered with scarves and pretty fabrics and oooohhhh ok maybe this would help her not be so horrifically angry. At least a little. Quietly, and very carefully so as not to disturb any of the fabric, Belladonna looked at each one before she saw the scarves. Winter was coming, she'd need to brace herself. With scarves. Pretty, pink and black ones. Or black and white striped ones! Ohhh yes, that!
Once more, the witch carefully picked through the fabrics. A pure white seemed difficult to find, so instead she picked a nice lilac color. Next was the task of finding a black, which seemed a much more difficult task than she'd expected. Finally when she started to ask one of the booth attendants, Belladonna looked up and saw... The Horseghoul she had bid against! How embarrassing. Quickly she grabbed up the darkest fabric she could find and presented it to them, only to realize that she'd grabbed navy. Before either of them could say no she turned away to begin the hunt again.

So that first try was kind of awful, mostly because of the witch's haste over finding the right colors. This was far harder than she'd anticipated, mostly because there were just so many to choose from. All these colors! All these cute fabrics! It was just so much! In her haste, the witch grabbed two mismatched colors. In her want to get it right, she presented them without looking. They were unanimously denied. "Jackdammit."

One more try! The witch would give it one more try before she'd give up for a few now. One last try, one last little attempt at getting her very own custom scarf. Which, apparently seemed much harder to accomplish than the witch thought. All the color she tried to grab were just... Atrocious. Maybe it was for the best. For now she slunk off, once more grumpy again.

Shaheen just sighed when her colors were rejected, taking a quick glance over her shoulder when she thought she spied some movement. Really, were they going to be this picky over some thread and fabric? They were from conquest. Of course they were. She reached out for another thread and fabric that might have suited her tastes. Scarf Please~

Scarves?
Jack loved scarves - they were comfortable and soft - they also made him feel more secure, sort of like his collar. Deciding that, although beautiful, the current batch of scarves were not his colours, he attempted to see about getting a specially made scarf by the little miss, figuring he would look better in his own colours.
Unfortunately, his luck in strings wasn't coming to him. . . which made him murmur, eyebrows furrowing.

As the witch came over, Ying tried not to look too bummed. It was true, she was upset about losing to a little witch. It was embarrassing! Conquest never lost, and yet she had lost to a spritely pink thing.
Did she maybe deny a set of strings that were close enough out of spite?
Maybe.
Too glum to remain here with the witch, Ying whispered in Jing's ear that she was leaving, and left to play around the festival for a little while.
---
Some time later she returned, small stuffed animal in hand, and a bigger grin on her face. "Brother!" she said excitedly. "I won you a prize!" She held up the Red lookalike for him to take.
A war horsemen was holding out materials and she smiled. The string and frabric still didn't quite match, but Ying was in such a good mood that she decided she would make it anyways. Especially since Jing was probably tired of sewing.
"Will this do?"

The boil was finding how own ways to keep busy as Ying went about and mingled. The yawn that Jing stifled with the back of a palm was soon outstretched to the offering from his twin. "What did you get?" he asked almost affectionately. And let out a screech of pain as he dropped it to the table.
He had never seen such horrible stitching, it was almost painful. The boil clutched at his heart dramatically as he went to stare at his evil sister. "You are ... so kind." he said politely, seething in his own mind at the slap in his face with its seamwork.
He made a mental note to add more pins to his Ying pincushion later.
