Cybele shot Remarque a look that might have qualified as stern under other circumstances. As he droned on and on about how cruel her court was, she slowly heard that tone from before in his voice- the voice of a person who was insane. She realized that part of what was making her so confused was him. It wasn't just what he was saying, either. “Just because you have a point doesn’t mean I believe you,” she said. Her voice was harsh, but underneath, images of innocent people dying slow, painful deaths so far from the people they loved crossed her mind. She shook her head, trying to remind herself that she didn't necessarily believe this guy. “Like I said, I don’t know. I will talk to people from the White Moon about whatever happened. If they tell me it was the Negaverse’s fault, I won’t tell them they’re lying. Of course, I don’t even know what the Negaverse is, just that it’s evil.” She looked up quickly, catching herself. “Sorry. That’s what I was told, though,” she corrected. “Maybe I’ll find someone who was there. One of the civilians who was kidnapped, I mean. They would tell me the truth.” Her voice had slowly changed from accusing to musing. “If I find out you’re right, I’ll fight for the Dark Mirror Court. I promise.” Cybele always took the promises she made very seriously, but in the end, they were far too easy to break. After all, she’d already promised herself to the White Moon. "It sounds great, having people to support you. The White Moon has given me a lot, though. I can't leave already."

Remarque wasn't quite sure what to make of the senshi at this point in time, however he kept his small smile about him. She made a strong promise, and he liked that. "I'll hold you to that, then, Cybele," he said, regarding her offer to fight for the Dark Mirror Court. "But, no pressure. The White Moon is, perhaps, a good place to start. You have the opportunity to learn as much about them as you want, and then do as you see fit. I'd love to point you in the direction of what civilians I recall, though I'd hate to come across as trying to set you up."
Which, of course, he would be. He knew some civilians were more affected than others—particularly those who had died. He'd be lucky if she could run into a few of them, let them explain how traumatizing the whole situation had been. "Take your time with the White Moon. I would be disappointed if they retained their clutch over you. I'd rather not be enemies, and I truly believe that the Dark Mirror Court offers a position the White Moon will never be able to provide for you. Though, I can understand if I've given you much to think of this evening. Would it be best if I gave you time to consider this? We could always meet up again, some time in the future. After you've had time to research on your own, come to your own conclusions, perhaps?"

Cybele nodded. “Yes. I really don’t want to be your enemy, either, or anyone’s, really. If that means I have to join the Dark Mirror Court no matter what, though, I might have to be.” She sighed and ran her fingers through her bangs, trying to think. “I guess that’s why they call it war. Everyone has enemies. Everyone’s fighting. Everybody thinks they’re right.” Except me, she thought bitterly. Knowing what you were fighting for was the first step, after all. She didn’t think she could take much more of this. Not right now, at least. She needed somewhere where she could curl up, where she could think in peace. A place with people she could trust would be best, but that obviously wasn’t going to happen soon. “Yes, I’ll ask around. I need to go anyway.” She smiled as a farewell and took a few steps away, then turned back. “We should talk again sometime. Should I look for you here if I find out something important?”

While Remarque would have loved to just toss her through a mirror and let Ares work her magic, he understood that miracles didn't just happen overnight. He'd rather Cybele make the decision on her own—let her see how flawed the White Moon Court was. Let her think about the alternative, let her crave it.
Even in the whole of the White Moon thought otherwise, he had faith that they'd all come around—one day. "Sounds like a plan. And if you need to talk to me and, for whatever reason, can't find me, any other Dark Mirror Senshi can get in contact with me and I can be wherever you want me to be. But there's no pressure, take your time, do what you have to. I'm sure I'll see you around sometime anyway, so you just take care of yourself until then, Cybele." He offered her a slight nod—a gesture of farewell, as he turned away. "And good luck settling in."
