If there was anything Neza was weak to it was sweets. She always thought about learning how to make cupcakes but because someone always made them for her she never got around to it. This looked like perfect chance to try herself out. Now to start... oh yes! The chocolate. One can never go wrong with chocolate.

Neza looked at her fluffy chocolate base of her cupcake. She had no idea how it was supposed to look but it looked close enough to the base of cupcakes their cook at home used to make. Encouraged by the starter success she rushed to make the icing for her little masterpiece.

Oven fires were, at the very least, pretty easy to put out. All it took was switching off the oven and letting the flaming cupcake burn itself out. For that reason, although a little panicked, Xiu was not by any means upset at the two students who had set their creations aflame. When one of said ghouls came up to talk to her, the baku smiled and gave a dismissive wave of her hand at the apology.
”It happens! Your cupcake is um, a little blackened, but you did an amazing job witht he icing and the decorating!” She beamed, nodding approvingly, "I hope you had fun with that!"

Covered in icing and pleased with how her cupcake has been progressing so far Neza asked herself why she never tried this earlier. On top of cupcake making being fun she was really good at it. She looked at all the decorations that were available and found that deciding on which ones to use was just too hard. So you can never go wrong with using all of them, right?

Looking at her cupcake it fell on Neza's mind that using all possible decorations might not be the best idea after all.
Even with that set back she was happy. After all she finally made her first cupcake.

With a little laugh Nessa looks at her cupcake " yeah the blackness gives it extra taste." She takes a little bite and looks back, " oh i did have fun first time I've ever been to a student club type thing, wasn't as hard as I thought it would be."

The baku grinned, looking pleased when the other ghoul said that she had had fun. "I'm glad! You should definitely check out some of the other clubs if you're interested--there are going to be a lot of fun games and events to come, I'm sure."
There was a pause, and then she stuck out her hand, "My name is Xiu, by the way! I'm a third year student here at Amity."

"Oh sounds like fun can't wait to maybe try a few other things." Whipping icing off her hand she reached out and shook Xiu's. "My names Nessa," with a low voice she whispers " I'm a quest student nice to meet you."

Terra started by staring at the instructions. She wasn't that good at reading--especially common, but she knew the basics of baking thanks to her madre. So she set about putting things together, going more off of her knowledge and the numbers--which didn't change regardless of the language.
She finished beating the mix and poured it into the cups, putting it in the oven to bake.
But then there was fire and shock and Xiu and-- "Perhaps they can be saved?" Terra asked, feeling quite inept--a strange sensation in the kitchen for her.

She went to make the frosting, hoping that it would go better since there was no oven involved. And she was right, Terra thought with happiness. The frosting was delicious--and a little bit of orange food coloring and it looked that way, as well!

Then she went to decorate her black and orange cupcake. It might taste horrible, she thought, but it would be pretty! Perhaps she could get Xiu to teach her more about this oven, she thought as she worked.
By the time she was finished it had a tiny version of Amity on top of it. "I think it makes up for the failure to bake properly?" she said, frowning still over that one.

"Nice to meet you, Nessa," She smiled warmly, giving her hand a light squeeze before letting go, "And aah, so you're a guest student! I hope you'll enjoy wandering around Amity for spirit week!"Her attention drifted to Terra then, and she went to see the ghoul's finished product. While the cupcake was definitely a little crispy, she had done...well, a rather lovely job with both the icing and the decoration. Grinning, she gave the other ghoul a thumbs up. "It looks really good! You've got an incredible knack for decorating." Seriously, that little Amity was adorable.

"Si, I am very good at the little details," Terra said, admiring that part of her cupcake. "It is only the big ones that are out of my control," she added dryly, poking the cupcake itself. "I am afraid my oven at home was muy--very old," she explained. "It took forever to bake. I did not realize that the ones here are so much better." She sighed, then shrugged. "I would like to learn to use these ovens, though! Perhaps I could join your... club? This is a club, no? Not some large piece of wood hidden somewhere to hit those which do poorly at baking?"

Alex was just chilling, wandering around with not a care in the world, his brain still buzzing pleasantly. His sense of smell seemed to be leading him around everywhere, and the scent of something very delicious attracted his attention, bringing him ever closer to a booth with a sign that he quickly read over. Baking club, huh? Wait, wasn't that the club that Xiu had asked him about possibly joining when she got it off of the ground? Had he agreed? He frowned in thought even as he continued his approach, his shuffles taking him directly towards the trays holding the candied brains, which he reached out to snatch up in one hand and shove greedily into his mouth before scanning around at everything else.
There appeared to be some kind of station set up for baking things. Cupcake trays, mixing bowls, ingredients and -shudder- ovens. He wasn't sure whether to be relieved or terrified when his pale eye landed on the fire extinguisher, but he settled on considering it to be a good thing, and thoughtful.
The baku who he was assuming was manning the area appeared busy some other students, and Alexander was feeling adventurous and bold enough to test his luck at this whole baking thing. Liquid courage and all that. He began putting things in a bowl, remembering all of the times his own mother had tried to teach him things like this and his immediate horrified response which he now felt he could easily shrug off. He quickly found himself with a bowl full of batter, which was white, whatever that meant. He reached for the tray and filled the cups.
Now for the hard part.
He eyed the oven warily, shuffling slowly towards it with the tray held in hand. Despite his new found bravery, his hand trembled slightly as he reached out for the oven door, standing with the rest of his body as far back as possible, leaning forward, crouched down, his back leg on it's toes. He probably looked ridiculous, but one could not be too careful around objects that could set him aflame. once the door was open, he felt an instant wave of heat that nearly made him whimper, but he bit the sound back, quickly sliding the tin pan into place before pulling his hand back and kicking the door shut with his skeletal foot.
EASY.
Now how long was he supposed to wait, exactly? There was no way he was going to get near that oven to check on the cupcakes progress, so he opted for counting under his breath, his arms crossed as he stood several long feet away from the appliance, waiting for what seemed like it would be a good enough time, not wanting to wait too long and burning the batter and starting a fire. Oh dear jack no that would be awful! Spurred on by this thought, and trying very hard not to think about what he was doing, Alexander donned a pair of oven mitts that he fervently wished went all the way up to his shoulders, and opened the oven door, quickly pulling out the tray before kicking the door shut again with a loud BANG, and setting the tray down on the table.
Huh...they actually looked okay?
