Yansa attacks Maya.
Yansa needs a 12 to hit.

Maya takes 0 dmg.
Yansa was suprised at the force that the arrow came at her. Maya had released a shot after being hit by Yansa's spear and caught Yansa in the shoulder. The same shoulder that Maya had hit earlier. The pain seared through her body from a repeated blow to an already aching wound.
Yansa attempted to bring her spear up and knock Maya back, while striking Maya in the process, but her attempt was weak and obnoxiously off target now that her shoulder wouldn't cooperate. Maya's anger might just win this battle for her with the way things were going. Yansa muttered a curse, her breathing becoming more rapid and sharp from the pain. She stood prepared and awaited her next move.

Maya's teeth gritted as she watched Yansa's failed strike move past her, trying to resist the thought's of Yansa only taunting her once again into another powerful strike. Taking in a deep breath as she slid her finger down the thin wood of another arrow letting the feathers tickle her hands the Alkidike drew it carefully forward and took another aim at the higher ranking female.
Releasing the air in her lungs in a slow and careful motion she sucked the second breath in faster as the blade sent the next arrow soaring onward.

Yansa was breathing heavy and put all of her weight into dodging Maya's attack. She escaped the range of the arrow and hit the ground hard, picking herself back up with a roll. Her stamina was escaping her and she needed an end to this battle fast. She needed to land an attack.
She ran in close to Maya, bringing her weapon down on Maya's head as if she held a club rather than a spear. Her face held her look of concentration and her mouth was pressed firmly together as her muscles tightened and brought the heavy spear down on Maya.

Maya gritted her teeth as she could feel the sweat on her forehead form and fall. Her antenna's shifting with each movement as she darted to the right in order to avoid the club like motion of the spear in Yansa's hands. So far she had been doing quite well in dodging her opponent but she wasn't sure she would be able to keep up the speed or attention for long. Her body was starting to strain and it was further evident in the slow process of fitting the next arrow into the bow.
Maya had to jump back slightly in order to gain better leverage her breathing was starting to come in quick uneven points now. No longer able to hold on to the fluid momentum from before, her knee almost gave way as she let the next arrow fly. Her hand dancing back to her quiver in order to check how many still remained. If it came down to it she would have to dodge Yansa a few times in order to dart behind her and gather another up to attack with.

Maya's arrow flew at Yansa with such a force that Yansa was sure if she didn't try to avoid the attack it would do an unapologetic amount of damage. She quickly dodged the attack, the arrow's wind stirring Yansa's dreds. Yansa had collected her thoughts and channeled her energy. Her breathing was smooth and fluid and the aching in her body was all but forgotten as she prepared herself.
And in one smooth motion she brought her spear around again for another strike. Yansa was prepared to end this battle soon.

Maya grunted as the arrow missed Yansa and continued on, this time not watching to see where the arrow's course had landed it but kept her attention on her opponent incase of another quick or deadly attack. Sure enough it followed quickly after.
Flattening her body against the ground and kicking herself back up Maya snatched another arrow from her quiver and let it fly. Her knees buckling under her sending her to the ground. This battle was dragging on far to long.

Yansa couldn't help but be slightly annoyed that her attacks weren't landing. Her face showed nothing but concentration, but her mind was beginning to bubble. If only Maya would hold still long enough to end this. Maya's light weapon gave her the advantage of speed and it was something that Yansa had underestimated.
Yansa could move quickly also. She dodged Maya's next arrow and heard it hit the tree behind her. In one swoop she had her spear rapidly approaching Maya yet again, aiming for her bow arm. Perhaps she could stunt Maya's attaks even if only temporarily.

Maya gritted her teeth as yet another arrow whizzed by her opponent. Still keeping her eyes focused on Yansa Maya watched her eyes intent on following and predicting the next set of moves the more experienced fighter would pull into play, she was too close for Maya to fully hit her with the arrows it seemed and the only thing she hand for use in the close range would be the wood of the bow itself.
The damage would be very minimal, probably wouldn't even hit that hard as she was built for speed and evasion rather than strength and physical attacks but she had to try, the arrows in her quiver were running out and the fight was taking far longer than Maya had ever anticipated. A renewed sense of pride swirled in her chest. She was lasting longer against Yansa than she ever thought would have been possible.
Clutching the bow tightly as Maya lept once again to the side she swung the wood of the bow forward intending to connect with the older Alkidike and allow her a moment to breath before the fight would continue.

Yansa could only blink in surprise as Maya swung her bow out at Yansa. It was something that she was completely unprepared for and it hit her full on. It was only a dull ache in her side, but it was enough that in reaction she swung her spear at Maya and missed dismally.
Intrigue sliced through her features for only a moment before she lept away from Maya and prepared herself for her next attack. This time she wouldn't be taken off guard.

Maya froze momentarily as the bow actually hit it's mark. She remained frozen in her spot with complete disbelief. Fire burned in her limbs as she jumped away from Yansa. Leaning away as the spear threatened to pull closer and cut her. Grabbing for another arrow from her quiver Maya snapped into position and shot the arrow.
Breath was swimming and out of her quickly, her body was starting to tremble as the fight continued on. She wasn't going to be able to hold on much longer.

Maya let fly an arrow with such force Yansa could only hope to dodge it. She lept out of the way and the arrow could be heard slicing through leaves and small branches on its way through the forest. There was a low dull thump somewhere in the distance letting Yansa know the arrow had stopped.
She had managed to avoid the entire attack and now prepared herself to swing outward with her spear. She tightened her grip and thrust her spear forward, hoping to catch Maya and come closer to the end of the battle.

Maya wasn't surprised as Yansa cleanly avoided her arrow keeping her eyes on her opponent through the fight instead of paying attention to where the arrow had landed Maya gritted her teeth. She was sure that this time around Yansa would be far enough away that she would have been able to hit her target.
Maya squeaked slightly as the next attack came a little faster than she had anticipated and did her best to leap just out of reach. Just barely out of the way of the spear. She could feel one of her dreads tear from the contact with the sharp edge. Frustrated Maya pulled and let loose another arrow,

Yansa powers up.
Yansa attempted to dodge Maya's next arrow but apparently Maya had anticipated it. Her arrow struck Yansa's leg as she lept, drawing blood. She stumbled backward and collected himself.
Her leg was throbbing, as well as most of the joints in her body, and her breath was haggard. She leaned against her spear and pulled herself up quickly, covering her fatigue with a stoic expression.

Maya gagged as her body trembled, she was unable to keep her arms from shaking making her aim very difficult to calculate. Pulling the arrow back with all the force she could muster Maya tried to release the arrow, watching as it arced wide and far from Yansa. The battle was taking a very hard and obvious toll on her now. Even the spark of confidence and pride from lasting so long was starting to wear off.
Rubbing the sweat on her forehead Maya smiled. She hadn't been having this much fun, for this long. Ever. She was able to overpower her sisters most of the time, except Neibet and Kishku. But the battles with them were hardly even as they seemed to be now.
