Was she ready? …There was really only one way to find out.
A little playful banter was definitely a good way to keep the situation light, even if they were basically attacking each other. "Of course I'm ready!" she insisted, wanting to find out what TianGuan had to show her. Any instance to learn wasn't one she was going to pass up—not when her health was on the line.
Besides—TianGuan was such a tiny little thing! It couldn’t be that bad, right?
…Not that Aventine really had a right to be getting cocky. She'd had some less than pleasant run-ins with people her size and smaller already, and she of all people ought to know that tiny packages could hold raging beasts. Rugby wasn't a game for fragile damsels, and even the smallest of girls could give you a run for you money on the field.
Grin never leaving her face, Aventine moved to stand her ground. "Go ahead, give it your best shot. Let's see what you're made of!"

Tian couldn't help but grin. She wished she had confidence like Aventine. It wasn't until today that she felt like she could be more physically active and be able to defend and attack. There's only so many things books and biology could teach a girl. But now, she can at least see if she learned something from fencing all those years.
Taking a deep breath, Tian charged like she did before. Difference was, instead of aiming to hit Aventine, when she was a foot or two away, she feinted to the side and had a hard stop just after Aventine and gave her a small push on the back. It was something that happened in a few seconds and made Aventine move forward a bit since her stands was ready for an impact, not a push.
Most of what Tian knew was to get herself out of trouble, not making the situation worse. Tian realized though, that she was kind of tired or running away. Some of those times she had tried fighting, it was only really a threat to those her own level.
"Simple and easy, right? Mostly evasive and get to away from people, if anything," she said with a laugh. "And less bruises, but it's.. Kind of wimpy if anything. Though I normally would push harder just to give myself time to run..."Kyuseisha no Hikari (( Sorry I played Aventine just a bit xD ))

Aventine still wore a slightly confused expression after Tian's display, though it morphed into another grin. "Damn, you're pretty fast. Wimpy or not, if you're getting out of there unhurt, I don't think anyone's going to get their panties in a bunch about it. I mean, if you're in it for the fight, I get coming home with bruises, but if you're not looking to get a mauling, being able to move like that has definitely got to come in handy. I'm not sure I could handle being so light on my feet. I mean, fast?"
She thought for a minute, and then confidently decreed, "I can do fast. But so that was something else, I tell you. Kinda makes me want to go practice running on a tread or jump roping to up my footwork," she laughed, taking a more comfortable position and brushing out her uniform.
She wasn't sure she could adapt Tian's style herself, though it was a nifty trip to learn all the same.

"Haha... It seems like that's the only thing I can do: run and dodge." Though Tian was hoping now she could and would, most likely, use the charge that Aventine taught her. It was one source of an attack that she could do. Tian was still tempted, however, to bring around her rapier. Only downside about that would be she'd be afraid of it getting broken or lost.
Tian knew that it was sort of good she didn't come back with any bruises and such... But wasn't part of her job to defend? "There was that one time I ended up trying to defend people against a Negaverse general... That did not end up too well." She had gotten a gash on her shoulder that night.
"A part of our job description is to defend, right? I just... Feel like I haven't been doing a very good job at that." She still smiled for Aventine. "But thanks to you today, I might actually have a way of attacking people. Maybe I'd win too?" The last bit made her let out a hearty laugh; winning was something Tian looked forward to, but it was definitely not something she was expecting any time soon.
"As for the running... I also spent a lot of time running around on the rooftops of the city, so I think that helped me a lot! I know I have more strength and stamina after powering up... Not sure about pages though." Tian frowned, just a bit.

Immediately, Aventine's eyes shot up to the skyline; she couldn't imagine anyone willingly jumping from rooftop to rooftop, and there was a bit of a lump in her throat. She swallowed it hastily and looked back to TianGuan.
…Hell, if Tian could do it though, couldn’t she?
"I haven't…been up to the rooftops yet," she confessed, still trying to come to terms with the advantages that came from being powered up. "But, if they're responsible for making you so speedy, that might…become a new part of my evening, I think," she said, an uncertain laugh following her words. "But, I mean—I want to get better at this whole thing, too. I'm with you in that I definitely don’t feel like I've been doing a very good job of defending. I mean, sans chasing a youma or two away, I haven't defended anyone. I've tried, but I just. I dunno. I don't go home feeling proud of myself," she sighed. "…So I guess I gotta work a little harder at it all. Anyway." Aventine wasn't about to sit around and feel sorry for herself, and TianGuan was just full of interesting statements. With great curiosity and enthusiasm, she asked, "So—what was that bit about a General? They're the big baddies of the Negaverse, right? Like—totally twice as strong as you! How did you manage to go up against 'em and live to tell the tale?"

"Oh! It feels wonderful... Sometimes you can run into other people there, but I love the feel of the night air up there... It's refreshing. I'm pretty sure you have the stamina for it since you play rugby and can lift people up like earlier! We can definitely do that together sometime!"
Tian shuddered when Aventine asked her how she got away. "Well, I almost didn't. He had said things about killing Senshi before even though he hadn't killed anyone that night, but in my head... Even if he didn't do anything then, he still had and still would." It was easy to see that Tian was irritated by this memory; she couldn't imaging killing someone or even see someone dying.
"I think, for the most part, I can't even defend myself yet. Which... Is why I'm going to work harder for it. Maybe we can meet up more often and have training days?" It seemed a little far-fetched, but it was a nice thing to bring up even if it didn't happen.
That was something she did have to get over. She was studying to be a doctor after all, and she could only save so many people.

"Oh, I like that idea!" Aventine immediately replied; the promise of someone to train with was as appealing as the promise of having another girl to hang out with. It wasn't exactly a secret that her social life had begun to suffer somewhat after receiving the mantle of Aventine; a part of her was paranoid that her friends would start to notice the lack of sleep, or that she'd slip up and tell them something revealing.
The idea of snagging some friends who actually understood what was going on—who wouldn't ask questions she had to answer with awkward lies—was all she could hope for. "I would definitely love to meet up with you again and," she hesitated, wanting to reassure the senshi in some way. Lightly, she rested her hand on the girl's arm, "We'll get stronger. And that General won't ever screw with you. We'll stop him in his tracks one day—all of them. There won't be any more killing, not if I have a say in it."

"I'm glad you do! It would make my nights a lot less lonely," she said laughing. Even as a cilivian she spent too much time studying and then caring for her dog that she didn't get out much. Having been powered up was definitely a blessing in disguise. Tian had to admit to herself that she hated it in the beginning, feeling like it brought back too much death, but now... Maybe she could do some good.
Tian's face glowed as Aventine talked. Some of the confidence in the page definitely rubbed off on her and Tian had this new sense of pride of the Order aligned people and even in herself. She nodded in response to Aventine and smiled. "We can do it... Together! Maybe even find more people to team up and train with?"
"I want to save people... I've wanted that for a long time now. I guess we now have the choice to huh?" Stronger. That was definitely her goal as TianGuan now. Saving as many people as she could both as a Senshi and a doctor. It sounded perfect.Kyuseisha no Hikari ((I think we can end this soonish? XD))

Aventine hadn't a doubt at all, it seemed; she just grinned and nodded. "I'm definitely looking forward to getting out there and doing some real good, though I'll be the," reluctantly, "First person to admit that a little teamwork might be just what I need to help settle in!"
She could definitely use the motivational boost Tian came with—and with the girl's enthusiasm to protect people, she might actually find someone to protect, instead of just shuffling around in the dark, picking fights with whatever youma stumbled into her line of vision.
She ran her hands across her outfit, checking her pockets as if she was going to magically find a pen and notepad in them. "Now, do you have a pen or paper or something? A phone on you? I'll give you my number, we can pick a time to meet up again."

"Haha. No, I don't think you're the first," Tian smiled, remember talking to a Chibi Senshi once about finding some teammates. "Maybe today, but not ever!"
Tian pulled out her Senshi phone, seemingly out of no where. She slid open the phone to reveal the keypad. "Here's my phone. I know it has a data base of other Senshi... I don't think you're on there though, since Sutai had to give me her number as well. I can always just call your number with my phone so you'll have my number!"
Before handing the phone to Aventine, Tian glanced at the time, making a mental note that she had to be home soon. She had already done her school work and had been studying for finals. Tian was more worried about her dog realizing she wasn't there and yapping until the neighbors got up.

"Oh, nifty," Aventine complimented, and rather skilled at texting these days, she promptly typed in her name and number. "I'm putting it in as Aventine, but I figure if we're gonna be friends, I go by Anella when I'm not all decked out in pink." Handing the phone back, she grinned. "So I hope to hear from you soon! I'm gonna head back and hit the hay. All this fighting means I've gotta get a little extra beauty sleep, so," she laughed it off, clearly speaking in jest.
Except, seriously. She was thinking a bath, some chocolate, and bed were all the rest of the evening ought to have in store for her. "So I'll catch you around soon, right?" she said, trying not to seem like she was in any sort of rush. As much as she was enjoying Tian's company, the night wasn't getting any younger, and she still had quite the list to tend to.

When Tian got back her phone, she couldn't agree more about getting some sleep. "It's nice to meet both as Aventine and Anella! On a normal basis, I'm Candice." It wasn't until then how Candice felt like her name was sort of boring, but bleh... It was better than being given a nickname still.
"Sleep sounds like a good idea! That only because... My dog is a scaredy cat and when she realizes I'm missing, she'll yap... A lot." Tian laughed the thought. It was definitely a bad thing for the neighbors, but Cotton had been good for the most part. "I was really happy to have met you today, and can't wait until we hang out again!"
Tian went over and gave Aventine a quick hug before leaving. "See you soon," she yelled with a wave. "And take care!"

The hug was an absolutely splendid way to end the encounter, and Aventine was quite certain that such an embrace meant they were definitely friends. "You take care, too!" she called back before she brushed herself off and set out for home.
Absolutely reassured that there was still plenty of good she could do out here, Aventine left feeling good. She was less alone and had someone who was still learning. She didn't have to feel bad about being the newbie if she was working along with other people still figuring things out. A little skip in her step, Aventine pleasantly made her way back to her apartment, glad to have run into TianGuan and looking forward to their next rendezvous.
