If T'rel had known what Adi had been about to do, he would have fled the scene like a firelizard flashing between. He instead responded by returning her kiss, wrapping arms around her. She was certainly being obvious, now! He pulled away only briefly, to study her. Shards. "Um...Er..." he stammered, unable to form words. That was a first, for the talkative harper. "Er. You're very beautiful, but--I--er...I have to go!"
That was right! He had to go. "I er, have to give Lunath a bath. Or something. She's antsy." He released his hold on Adi to push himself up off of the ground. "And I like exploring and games, too. And music. Maybe we can talk another time. How about tomorrow? You can come to my weyr for klah!"
...Shards, why had he invited her over?

Oh, dear. Things had been going very well when he returned the kiss, and Adi was delighted. This delight was short-lived, however, as he soon not only pulled away, but announced that he had to leave (and also told her she was beautiful, but she didn't get so much as half a chance to bask in that before the leaving part). Had she been wrong? Had she scared him off?
The young woman positively wilted, her bright smile gone as though it had never been there at all, and looked up at T'rel with a guilty-sad expression. "Please don't go? I-I'm sorry. I just thought..."
"I won't do it again, if you don't want. Please stay?" There was the distinct possibility of tears if he didn't.

T'rel hesitated, turning back to face Adi. His determination to leave seemed to fade, and he frowned slightly. "No, it's not that," he said. "It's just--the gold flight and all... I don't want to mistake your feelings for genuine when you'll leave later." Triggering his emotions and creating a sense of loss--he didn't want that. He bent down to meet her eyes, sighing. "Don't cry," he said, reaching a hand out to stroke her cheek and remove any stray tears.
"I'll stay, alright?" He sat in attempt to reassure her, pulling her closer with one arm. "And you can do what you like. I won't mind." As long as she didn't leave in the morning.

"Leave?" Adi blinked, surprised by the very suggestion. "I don't- I wouldn't leave. I mean, unless you wanted, but-"
And he came back! This ended the sadness and threat of tears very decidedly, and she snuggled against him, resting her head against his shoulder. "You're nice, T'rel. I like you." Sure, they barely knew each other, but he was just so nice - and maybe a little of this appeal was the effects of a goldflight at work, but she was very sure that she would like him on her own regardless. Maybe she wouldn't have kissed him inside of five minutes, but there would still have been liking. Lots of liking. "So you won't run away if I kiss you again?"
