Too busy looking at her feet, Shine smashed directly into a stone wall. There was a dull pain in her forehead, which she tried to rub away with the heel of her palm.
"Ow," she whimpered, fighting back tears.

Shine heard the faint echo of something metallic hitting something...hard? Stone?
"Aymet...?" she called, pausing. She hoped he was okay. It was really dark in here without his glowy light, and she didn't feel good being alone like this.
When he didn't respond, she began sniffling again, tears forming at the corners of her eyes. Oh, she was doomed.

This wasn't a very funny joke, pirate treasure place. Shine felt very bad about all of this. Nothing looked the same as the first time. Nothing was like she remembered.
She stubbed her toe on another dead end.
At least it wasn't her head again, she supposed. Still, it didn't stop her from crying even louder than before.

The soles of her feet were beginning to share the same dull ache that Shine felt on her head. She'd been walking for a lot longer than she usually walked, and was starting to feel a longing need to go back to her room and hide in her blanket fort.
It was a good thing that she considered Aymet a friend, and that she badly wanted to help him find this pirate treasure. Otherwise, she might have turned and run all the way back home. Or tried to run all the way back home, at least.

Wait, was she back...towards the beginning? Shine tilted her head and tried to recall what the beginning even looked like. She couldn't. She reminded herself to try to remember things better from now on.
She'd forget before she even finished navigating the labyrinth.

Aymet kind of had a weakness for damsels in distress.
Unfortunately, Shine's crying was a bit more distracting than the usual kind. His bone-merang completely missed.
