Ha, I can't wear anything good because my grandparents control almost all of my cashflow, so the little bit of money I get for myself has to be divided between clothes that don't suck, piercing money, and various minor necessities.

I don't really dress lolita. I dress more of a combination of lolita, "punkish", emo, and indie. And goth.

I change the style of clothing I'm wearing regularily. Sometimes I even dress like a boy and pretend I am one.

Yeah.

I think I may have gotten stares but basically everyone I know is used to it by now. When I go out, I get lots of people asking me where I get my clothes and stuff or where I got my glasses from.

I get some stares. I dont dress very lolita yet. I lack money. And patience to worry about sewing all the little details.

My English teacher did ask how long it takes me to get ready in the morning however. That was funny.

I should make some clothes....maybe I will soon. When I get paid next for the month.

EDIT: I get lots of stares though when I wear this light purple toque that has Kitty ears that my Nana made for me when I was young. I love it.

Heh. All my teachers loved my kitty ears. They made it easy to recognize me.Unfortunately, my cat made off with them. I think they are now under my bed, where I have to rearange my room to get them. But even after 3 months, the Vice principle thinks of me as the kitty girl. I feel sorry for all of you people with intolerant school administrators.

Yay Value Villiage indeed! I can't wait to go home this summer. There are no real thrift stores around my college.

That sucks. Where do you go to school?
(one of my major requirements for a college is nearby shopping, and I rarely shop anywhere but Value Village)

It's in the middle of western Massachusetts. I come from WA, the state, and we have thrift stores galore, and all kinds of cheap outlet/surplus stores, so I feel really deprived right now.

Luckily in my school; while small and redneck; people stopped staring and asking questions years ago! I think the worse I got was my english teacher saying I looked like an "amish girl on her first day out".
That makes me rather happy...
However, outside of school I get alot of stares...
It doesn't bother me that much because I like the attention. sweatdrop

But I'm sure others arn't so lucky...
Share experiences and we can console each other! 3nodding

i always get weird looks. if im not wearing EGL, im still wearing something eye-catching. plus, i usually wear 5 inch heels, which makes me about 6'2, so im taller than everyone.

Maybe you don't like being so tall, but I wish I was just two inches taller than I am. (5'4")
I wear pretty strange clothes a lot of the time, too, or just nice clothes instead of being casual all the time. People ask me all the time where I'm going to, and only because I'm wearing a long skirt, and not jeans!

I've had people ask me if I'm going to a costume party, and my dad tells me I look like the Wicked Witch of the West, because of my stiped socks. Mostly, though, I don't get many stares that I notice.

i got that before... i had on yellow and black striped stockings, a poufy black tiered shirt, a yellow and black tank top, pigtails, and black maryjanes. people kept asking me if was going to be in some sort of "performance" later. just about everyone says i look like a witch. the good thing is, most of them buy into the idea of me cursing them (which i didnt even intend to happen or have anything directly to do with) and leave me alone about it.

I can wear whatever I want to and no one will stare. It's really weird, but also kind of a good thing. One time a girl attacked me about where I got all my stuff (which I made, rather unskillfully, I might add). That was weird... @.@;

I've Become So Numb To The Stares.. People Are So Cold And Cutting.. One Time In 8th Grade.. I Had This Guy Come Up And Ask Me If I Was Some Kind Of Sexually Obsessed Girl In A French Maid's Outfit.. It Was Depressing.. People.. Bleh

I actually got a few really nice compliments, though.

All of my friends love it, but most of the close minded people at my school just stare at me funny. I love it though, because most of the school is conformist and annoying so I feel the need to give them a shock every once and a while. I was Alice in Wonderland EGL style last halloween, and about 4 people called me Bo Peep. I was quite tempted to hit them with the white rabbit plushie I had with me whee
