Sachie Whitby Before the 10th Ball, I literally have only done roleplays that were either 1x1 or very small groups. I am really only used to something like no more than four people with a turn rotation cycle, and everyone just politely waits for their turn to come up. I am currently weighing my options. Oh I see. I've done a few 1x1s, and I think it is a little more comfortable to RP in, because you have turns and everything.

I'm waiting for a password recovering for a roleplay website I used to be on that had threads with larger groups. They're a bit cliquish >.< but hopefully I'll be able to smooze my way into doing a couple of roleplays for practice before the next ball rolls around. I'm at a loss for other options at the moment.

Hey Spotted, who are the RPs in question for, anyways? Are they exclusively to advertise, with only committee members being allowed to participate, or are they for all the people in this guild who'd like to RP or just want to practice?

If you want to join, feel free! I like allowing many people in, as long as it's something they want to do. The Christmas Event is going to start planning soon, if you would like check that out.
We have events once every two months, and you can find the "schedule" here: [x] (:

Now I am confused... I thought we were bantering back and forth because those roleplays are exclusively for members of those committees. [i.e. Because I made the mistake of joining the art committee, I'm 100% on my own if I feel I need roleplay practice.]

(: If that helps.

As far as god modding goes here's the rule I use in my role-plays: a. Don't make a character SUPER OVER POWERED and run aroudn killing off actual characters people play. NPCs fine. Go at it, slaughter a village of them for all I care. b. Don't move or do anything with any characters without consent. No "I took the boy by the ear and dragged him through the town and made him go sailing to Broxbury." Instead, "I lead the boy towards the pier as we went through town" Give people a chance to respond not leave them with no option. c. Stay with plot. No automatic weapons in ye olde times or such... Again thsi goes with no character of ULTIMATE SUPREME POWAH!
Generally in a role-play with more than four members things at tiem can get chaotic. I have found the best choice is not to simply have a character idly wiaitng for another to engage in conversation or action. SEEK OUT ATTENTION! Role-playing is one of those times you get to run up to someone and just randomly begin a story. So do it! ♥
I'm no expert at role-playign but have been in my fair share. If you need some examples or maybe some to look into...ask me! Also the Role-play Cafe' for the Annual Balll NEEDS some people in it. We only have one "regular" guest... The rest of the posts are just "staff". Its a jump in and go kind of deal so there's no need to feel shy...

You can absolutely join in on any RPs the Annual Ball puts on! The "one committee" rule does not extend to your user activity, only to your planning. That rule is just to make sure no one is over extending themselves and then disappearing for stress leaves, leaving us high and dry.. but again, that doesn't rule over your activity either. If you decide you want to post to chat in one of our shops for activity or just for fun then you're more than welcome to. If you would like to RP in the host club events then again, you're more than welcome. In fact, you're encouraged to post in the RPs. Activity from the ball staff will help to keep the threads active, progress the plot (because we have the advantage of knowing what the plot is and what direction it should go, so we can help it along if the hosts need a little help wrangling guests) or just to have fun.
And if you have any issues or concerns with another ball member then I would like to be informed. Things can build up in the background and then when it escalates too far it's hard to know how it all started if one isn't informed from the beginning.

Oh, I am quite certain that I wouldn't have time to help run anything until January. Even if I was on one of the roleplaying committees, I would be all... can I just show up and roleplay without having to help run things for the rest of the year? I have a lot on my personal to do list at the moment. sweatdrop

That's all I meant when I said that you're welcome to participate in the RPs. When I talked about helping with the plot I didn't mean by helping to plan it -- if the plot needs a little push you could be the one to do it, if you wanted, that's all. For example, if the plot revolved around a ruby slipper being found and none of the guests were really understanding or jumping in leaving the hosts at a loss for how to progress then your character could either ask another one, "say, do those slippers look ruby to you?" or even find them her/himself.
And if you're there just to have fun then that's great too! The more the merrier for the RPs.

[That would make the blood more valuable to the right people.]

In the Nightmare room I had someone take over Dolly and make her attack them. I wasnt happy. Then another person made it so Dolly bled, but in my description on the front page I even put that she doesnt. To me that is godmodding.
