"What do you mean you don't eat cookies? Everyone eats cookies." It didn't make any sense. Grumpy asshat who didn't eat-- Wait. This was probably related in some way.

Probably.

His dare got a deadpan stare in return. "What?" How in the name of all was good was she supposed to do that? She didn't want to do that. It sounded hard, if not completely impossible.

"Fine," she breathed. She stared at the pile of blocks for several moments, moved her hand in close, and then closed her eyes. She then moved really, really slowly. Minutes, it felt like. "This is like, really hard. You're mean."

She felt the blocks with her fingers, trying her best keep the tower from toppling over. She felt like she was gonna tip it over once or twice, but a short pause later, she was back at it. "Like, really, really mean." This was super stressful, Jake. Meanie head.

And then, she had one piece loose in her hand.

"Yes!" She was on her feet in a show of victory. "I did it!" Relief, complete relief. She figured she had a dart coming. But no. She owned that.

Sitting back down, she placed the piece back on the stack.

"So, tell me, what happened in the haunted house after I passed out. The truth, please." It had been bugging her. And she had been planning on asking later, but, well. Doing that without looking was really hard, Jake.

He rolled his eyes at her comment.

"Well, I'm not everybody, am I?"
He really didn't see what the big deal was.

At Sherry's whining, Jake only scoffed.
"Cry me a river, why don't you? You brought this on yourself. Suck it up."

Huh. She wanted the truth?
He prodded at the tower with a finger again while thinking of what to say. It was possible to tell the truth without telling the WHOLE truth, right?

"I-"

The piece he was prodding at had been wedged in tighter than expected, and the force ended up tipping the tower over.
He frowned. Did this mean they could finally stop playing this stupid game?

Chester's warning had been a little late as a dart found its way to the back of his neck, and in the next moment, he had slumped over, out cold.

Sherry scowled. She had brought it on herself. She didn't need to be reminded of it. Really, Jake.

But. She was finally going to get some information out of him. First he said he save her, then he said he didn't, and really, she wanted to know how it had all gone down. She owed somebody for that, and Jake was the likely culprit.

But then he pushed the tower over. There was no way in this life or next that she was ever going to believe he hadn't meant to do that.

Sherry sat, with a sort of pouty scowl on her face. "Jerk." It only took her a few moments to decide what to do. She reached into her pocket, took out her marker, then stood up and walked around the table to stand next to grumpy-butt. She then leaned in close, and drew a happy face on his cheek. It was smiling, and looked super friendly. Jake deserved it for pushing the tower over.

This makes me a bad person, doesn't it?

Armagnac yawned in Sherry's head.

I dunno, thought Sherry, recapping the marker and starting to gather up the pieces. I feel like a bad person. That's like, permanent or something. He didn't deserve that, did he?

"True," she admitted as she slowly restacked the tower, her mind and feelings flipping between feeling guilty, and thinking that it was all in good fun.

After the tower was reformed, Sherry sat back down, and waited. For a moment or two. Then she stood back up, and moved back to Jake's side.

"You gonna wake up yet?" She poked his shoulder. There was no immediate response, so she turned to poking his face. That smiley she drew was a perfect target. He's gonna kill me for that, I know it.

"Jake, wake up already, it's still your turn, I think." She poked him once or twice more, and may have lightly smacked him in the shoulder.

[A.V.]
tag from class! woo!
She's too nice to slap him. But not draw on his face. >_>
PostPosted: Sun Nov 04, 2012 6:22 pm

He felt a light pressure against his cheek, but it wasn't enough to stir him.
... nor the shoulder smack.
He was out cold... supposedly.

<...J....ke...>

5 more minutes...

<... WAKE. UP. NOW.>

"Hwagh!"

He bolted up, almost crashing into Sherry.

"W-what..."

He stared at Sherry, disoriented.

Sherry took one surprised step back, in order to avoid a collision.

"Oh, good. I was worried for a second." She knew that sometimes the darts could knock you out for hours. She sat down in the nearest chair, so that she was no longer sitting across from him. "You do know about the sleeping darts, right? When you knock the tower over...you get put to sleep. It's why we have markers."

Her eyes focused on the smiley face on his cheek. She was so gonna die for that one. He was never going to talk to her again, she just knew it. So, she looked away and didn't say anything about it.

Armagnac chuckled lightly in her head.

"So. I think you were about to tell me story? And no more pushing down the tower, kay?" She gestured to the reformed tower.

What?
He rubbed the back of his neck as it still felt sore, and his hand brushed against something small.
Gripping it, he pulled it out to reveal that it was, indeed, a dart.

WHAT THE HELL?

Annoyed, he tossed it to the floor.
"This is stupid."

He looked over to see that the tower had been set up again.
"I thought the game ended when it got knocked down." he grumbled.
Apparently, he wasn't getting out of this easily.

He grumbled, prodding at the tower again, not caring if it tipped over or not.
(He was also quite oblivious to the happy face on his cheek).

"You wanna know what happened? You-"

He knocked over the tower again, and he had saw the dart this time, finding it's mark on his right arm.
"DAMN IT-"

He slumped over again.

"Nope," she shook her head. "You actually have to play to get the bandage clearance. Can't just quit." Nope, you were totally stuck, Jake.

"Yes," she nodded when he began to answer her question. Of course she wanted to know. She'd asked. She was waiting with anticipation when he stopped...and she saw that he'd knocked the tower over again.

She sat and stared at him. "He is so doing that on purpose. I know it," she grumbled. The trainee reached for her marker, uncapped it, then reached for Jake's nearest hand. She drew one big, black heart on the palm. She even colored it in.

Then, she placed the marker on the table before moving to re-stack the tower.

After cleaning everything up again, she sat and stared at Jake some more. "Hey, sleepy head." She leaned in close, and started to poke him in the side. "Wake up."
PostPosted: Sun Nov 04, 2012 9:17 pm

A groan escaped his lips.
He felt dizzy and sluggish, and lifted a hand to his face... the one with heart drawn on it.

Feeling something wet, he pulled his hand away, to notice a huge black heart on it.
WHAT.

... wait. If he had just touched his face with this hand...
It was probably a good thing there weren't any mirrors within the vicinity.

Only then did he see the marker on the table.
A permanent marker.

... And the tower was set up again.
He shot a menacing glare at Sherry, and may or may not have been seething.

"WHAT. THE. HELL. DID. YOU. DO."

He seemed a bit slow to wake up. Sherry almost felt bad for that, but it was his own fault for knocking over the tower.

Her heart skipped a beat as his hand rose, though. She knew he'd find the heart sooner or later, and now she wondered why she'd put it there. The back of the hand might have been better, or even just his face.

She was so dead. So dead.

Yep. That look right there, the one he gave her, told her she was dead. "I...um...I told you. We use markers." So dead.

Her hand quietly slipped into her coat for a second. Why oh why did I go ahead and do that?

I wasn't really asking, but thanks. Her hand came back out of her coat, bringing with it a small silver compact. She'd been going to Jenga, so she brought her mirror. Sherry slowly set the compact on the table.

"It's...a joke. You know, all in good fun. You pass out, and well," she getstured to the marker, and tossed him a small 'oops' smile.

He's gonna kill me.

[A.V.]
So...I went with the mirror. He doesn't have to use it. >_>

Jake only stared at her.
That was what the markers were for? TO DRAW ON THEIR FACE?

I'd RATHER get blown up than have CRAP drawn on my face... or anywhere ON me for that matter... in PERMANENT INK.
The LAST thing he wanted to do was see what he looked like.

... And then she placed a compact on the table.

He stared at it for a good whole minute before turning his gaze back on Sherry.

"I suggest you put that away right now, or it'll never see the light of day again."
In other words, it would probably end up as fish food if she didn't put it away in the next second.

Emitting a weary sigh, he pinched the bridge of his nose, making sure it didn't have marker on it first.
"Whatever. The sooner we get this stupid thing over with, the faster I can get this crap off my face."

He took a lot more care this time, making sure to pick out a very loose piece before placing it on top of the tower.

She didn't say anything as she pocketed her mirror again. She liked that thing, and keeping it seemed like a nice idea.

"I'm sorry," she said, keeping her eyes on the table. Well. She would NOT be doing that again.

Armagnac grumbled.

Sherry watched Jake remove one piece and place it on top. She then reached in to do the same. The piece gave her no trouble, but her conscience was killing her.

"Are you...really that angry with me?" She sounded a bit sad, and possibly a bit ashamed. She felt bad, and she wanted to know how much apologizing she would be needing to do.

He wasn't sure what was worse.
Looking like a freak, or having Sherry go through her useless phase again.

He watched wordlessly as she pulled out another piece with ease and placed it on top.
Hmm, they were still playing "Truth or Dare", right? And he hadn't asked something last round, so...

He picked up the marker and pointed it at her.

"Each time you say the word 'sorry', or even THINK it, I want you to make a mark on your face."
This was getting ridiculous.

And if she refused, well...
He was judging you, Sherry.
JUDGING YOU.

Starting to get the hang of this, he pulled out another block with ease and placed it at the top of the tower.

"Oh. And by the way?" he smirked (though it's probably hard to take him seriously with a smiley face on one cheek and a heart over his cheek/eye) "That dare was for the LAST piece."
Meaning she already earned herself a mark. Maybe more.

"Um...."

Armagnac said happily in her head.

"Um..." Sherry looked at the marker, then she slowly reached out and picked it up. She watched as Jake moved his piece, and then informed her of his backdating that dare. Well, then. Um. At least he seemed a little happier.

The Life trainee uncapped the marker and made one mall mark on her cheek. Then another.

Sherry obliged the wyrm by putting a third on, though by now she was kind of smiling. It almost tickled.

No. That is enough for now, she was pretty sure she hadn't thought it that many times.

Setting the marker aside, she looked at Jake. "That should cover it for now. I'm s--" she clamped her mouth shut, then picked up the marker again. It definitely tickled, but now she was peeved with herself.

Putting the marker back down, she turned her attention to the blocks. Another one out with ease, and placed easily on the top of the stack.

"I...don't believe you ever got around to telling me about the Haunted House. Do I really not have you to thank for my life?"

A grin curled up on his lips as she started making marks.
Not only would he be able to take his vengeance on the marks she had already made this way, it would also (hopefully) stop her from excessively apologizing.
Two birds with one stone.

Andddddddd, it looked like it was already working, as she stopped what she was going to say and drew on herself again.
Brilliant.

He only gave her a deadpan expression as she questioned him further.
"Yes."

He made no further comment as he pulled out another piece, the tower wobbling slightly, and placed it on top.

"Oh, well then." So that was that. "Well, thanks for fighting the wolf thing thing with me. I know, I know, you didn't have much of a choice. But still, Thank you." That could have been what he meant when he'd said "-if I hadn't-", if he hadn't been there, it might have been too much for her.
"So--" she stopped and picked up the marker again, making one mark on her right cheek.

...Maybe. Putting the marker back down, Sherry directed her attention to the game. The piece she chose was ended up being stuck, and actually caused her a moment of panic. She almost toppled that tower. Almost. But in the end, she successfully removed her piece, tower still standing.

She looked at Jake. "So, Mr. 'I-don't-like-people-or-eat-cookies', what in this world do you enjoy? Besides fighting, of course. I have a feeling you like that rather well."

She placed the piece on top of the tower, then let turned her head to let her gaze settle on back on Jake. He's not gonna tell me anything, I bet.

It's worth a shot. That, or Sherry just really enjoyed the torture.
