Ofelia didn't even bother trying because she knew Otto princess wouldn't survive no matter what she did. So she waited, just letting her golem sit there.
Looking over, he noticed there weren't even any defenses for her second and fourth path. That golem was a goner.
Deciding to use wood this time to reinforce his paths, he noticed it was... a lot better. Path 1 and 2 were still kinda crummy, but hopefully, luck would be on his side?
Ofelia was getting sleepy, barely even paying attention, and she stared at Jake and motioned for him to hurry and come up. The shadows were swirling and her golem was quickly devoured, leaving only his path for them to go down.
Ofelia propped her chin up on her palms, her elbows resting against the ledge of the case where she'd be kept until the whole trial was over. It looked like Jake was getting the hang of things and would be getting done soon if his luck held.
Part of Ofelia wanted him to fail so miserably she could cackle the entire way back to the ICU ward but since it was better safe than sorry with all the runics then it was important he get his s**t together and pass.
"Ya got two more rounds, ya think ya can make it?"
"Ya gotta learn ta be more positive." Ofelia didn't really have room to talk and she yawned against it all. There were only a few more rounds, he was doing so good, and she didn't want to think too much more on it. "After this we jus' gotta wait till the weapons come back an' Ah'll show ya the best trainin'."
Her way of saying she liked hands on more than building? Yes.
... Positive. Right. When... weapons came back? She made sound like they actually weren't... dead. Could it be true?
No. He shook his head. He didn't want to think about this right now. All he needed to do right now was focus on his training. That much, he could do.
He grit his teeth as he watched the shadowlings swarm, annoyed with himself. He would prove that he didn't need a weapon to be strong. He could do this. He was capable.
"Yer lookin' doubtful - ya honestly think yer weapon's gone fer good? Wishful thinkin' there kiddo. Unless the tablet's cracked ya got yerself a full recovery eventually." Ofelia watched as another wave passed, successfully, and she tried to place the face of the golem. She'd gone two rounds without mocking him, it was time to change pace.
The next round would have her saying something if it went well again.
"Hey, hurry it up. Are ya slackin' or jus'. . .wait." Ofelia snickered, looking at how well his progress was now that he got this new golem. She didn't know the girl, at least not personally (she'd seen her around though) and the teen raised a hand and snickered into her fingers again. "Ah see, Ah see. Ya got a thing fer the girlie ya drew as a princess, dun'ya? Would make sense why yer doin' so well ta protect her."
Ofelia had no room to pinch an inch, the princess she drew on her first round had been herself but dammit Jake needed mocked and teased.
