Scampering in from the bedroom door, the Hellhound sniffed the air. Fear ripe for the picking hung in the air along with the faint trace of candy corn.

it was enough to make Demi flinch from the scent. Candy corn? wait...... no-

And that was when Demi would feel the coiling of a tail around his midsection. Levi knew not to say a peep as she crouched on the floor of the human scarlings' room. Such was the training she'd undergone for the past two years under various instructors. Now was a time to exercise them.

Yes, there were two in here; most definitely. It would take awhile to adjust to the darkness, but the outlines of two beds could be made out along with a few objects around the room.

Levi placed a clawed hand at Demi's calf, silently bidding that he meet her at this level by scratching downward lightly. If they were close enough, maybe she could whisper? The ghoul kept it short.

Let's tagteam 'em, Rex. I'll take tha'one side, yew take tha'other? meetcha in'tha middle. It made sense in her head. Somehow there was a logic behind it.

Demi hated the tailhugs. This time it was necessary. He already heard that talking was not going to help him stay hidden. All the berkberks weren't going to save him from discovery here. This time he was going to have to let the hug go. The hound kept his eyes dim with green light from the irises and the essence of brimstone in the room as he crouched down to the ghouls level.

he didn't say a word and gave the tatzel a firm nod. It made perfect sense to him.

it just meant that he was understanding the crazy wurm's logic.

Jacks bells, that wasn't good.

Releasing the hellhound, Levi began slinking her way beside Annabelle's bed. No, wait; this was wrong. She was too far away from the sobs. Clearly, a few of her classmates had already been/were already here. Oh? What's this? There was a stubby looking tail and feline form on the bed. Taking it with her, Levi slinked into the center between the two beds. Looks like there would have to be a slight adjustment to the plans. It was fine; she was sure Rex would be able to work it out with her on the fly.

Slowly, the cat plushie's head began to creep from the edge of the bed. As it did, there was a low rumbling growl. Kitty had come to play. What would Demi find to collaborate with? Perhaps by doing this, she was creating a distraction for her bro to begin his primary move for the assault.

The hellhound did a shimmy with his newly freed midsection. Freedom. the pup watched silently as the tatzel went after not the duo on the single bed, but the tiny figure that was by itself, the lone little animal figure. He furrows his eyebrows inquisitively until he heard it growl and made a movement of clarity, the surprised said it all.

Demi knew what she was going to do. with that in mind the boil poked his head up from the ground to search, as the twins quivered in their covers, he spotted it by the foot of the bed.

The tiny figure of a dog, some domesticated breed that looked far too happy. it sat lopsided in its place, lifeless and limp. he would have none of that. The dog plush soon found its head high in the air, searching and mimicking the actions of sniffing, until it focused to the side and the cat in the distance, and sound of a warning grunt was heard as the plush began to slink closer to the edge of his bed, his territory. The Dog was hungry.

it was truly comical as he thought about it. They were essentially playing with dolls, to collect fear.

This was a challenge of territory between the grotesquely stubby-tailed feline toy and the disturbingly happy-faced canine version. Shaking the plush spastically as its feet reached the top of the covers to mimic anger, Levi included a short tatzelwurm hiss. By comparison, this voice was far too monstrous for that of a domestic cat, more likely belonging to a larger breed with a hint of a serpent's extended sssss echoing.

Levi actually wanted to cackle so badly at this display, but they were here to work. At least they were getting to play a bit while doing so; being a ToTer wasn't a bad gig at all.

The cat plush shot down out of view again. Levi rolled along the back of the bed, hiss still echoing. The cat plushie's whole body came back up, the ghoul's tail now holding onto the plushie so the toy was nose to nose with the pup toy. Levi's tail shook the doll again, releasing a new hiss to compliment the hatefulness of the plushies for one another as well as the fact that these were not the same old toys.

These were alive.

Mimicking a batting paw, the cat plushie started it.

it was ridiculous. and getting more so with each passing second. But The hellhound had to remind himself, it was for the fear.

They had their parts to play, himself and levi too and right now, if it meant to do a little work teaching this stuffed doll to be a real dog. Then it had to be done.

The stuffed fido crouched low and let out a warning bark at the cat's attack. the sound seemed odd for the size of the thing. and not matching its expression of glee at the fight. Thank jack for the lack of light. one good paw swipe deserved another as the dog toy stuck a paw out for a strike.

The cat plush reeled back, wailing in astonishment that it had even been targeted in the first place. An elongated high-pitched meow sounded, but it was unnaturally big for the tiny toy as it flailed back at the joyful type pup's face. As if turned on by a switch, the cat and dog momentarily turned in unison to stare at the humans...

...before continuing. With one last final whack from the dog, Levi dramatically flung the cat plushie over the foot of the bed.
Gently nudging Demi, Levi indicated for him to do the same; to fling the toy over.

The tatzel ghoul began crawling toward the lower end of the bed slowly, the clicking of her claws fully audible.

In a flash the show seemed to come to a halt, the brother and sister using the toys to stare at the other siblings. their heads slowly acknowledging their presence, the spectators of the fight before the cat one dramatically fell over the edge of the bed by Levi's whim.

it didn't make much sense to damien but he followed in suit. the dog made one mournful howl before it too found its way to the ground. his own slow footsteps clacked loudly on the smooth flooring, a foreboding sound with each thump, only to be punctuated by the sudden click of nail on wood. Damien approached the same direction on his side.

Okay, that might have been a miscommunication. Levi had thought her bro would have sent the joyful dog after the cat plush as if it were going to devour it. The ghoul nearly choked trying to suppress her laughter. It really couldn't be helped now that it was done; they'd go on with the show. Though if Demi was able to see her fangs, Levi did have a considerable amount of grin on her face right now.

Pressing a finger to her lips, Levi waited. Clicking about with one clawed hand along the floor, Levi grasped the cat plush again when she found it. No immediate action was taken, but the growl from earlier began to rise. Trying to signal her bro on what she was thinking of doing, Levi tapped the arm of the hound with one finger, then two, then three. 1, 2, 3.

The growling stopped. The tatzel was trying to drag out the mystery while trying to indicate to Demi that she wanted to fling them bad over the bed on the count of three.

The lack of communication made itself known. It was nothing they couldn't deal with damien figured. it was still fun, this acting through puppets. it wasn't that hard to see the tatzel's fangs, due mostly to the fact that his green eyes were keen to the night sight, his own grin matched levi's.

at the count of three, the sounds of two creatures fighting came to an abrupt halt. no clear victor was heard, no clicking of nails, no chewing of body parts. it was just silence as the moment stretched on.

This time however he tapped the ghoul on her arm and motioned to let the toys go.

They hit the wall with an audible thump before falling lifelessly over the two scarelings on the bed.

and the hound had to bite his arm to keep from laughing out loud at the spectacle and inched away under the desk.

Jove dropped himself in through a new window, and froze at the sight in front of him. Had he expected the tail end of Levi and Demi's puppet show? Certainly not.

If it had been anyone else he would have backed right out the way he came, but it had been awhile since he had seen either of these friends. So the fluffy little foxfire's tail wagged, and he trotted under the desk with Demi. It didn't even occur to him that he might not be recognized in his natural form. Had either of his friends ever seen his round, poofy foxfire body? Thanks to the animated stuffed toys, he was officially the least scary thing in the room.

While he was staring at the basketball continue bouncing, something else happened; the bookshelf started to rattle and a book flew across the room. "Aah!" Aaron couldn't help it, even though he clapped his mouth over his mouth soon after. No! He was a boy and Annabelle was terrified and if she saw him scared too, she would be even more scared!!! He only gripped her tighter, all the while agreeing to her words.

Stupid Jimmy. This was all his fault! Why did he have to come up with something as ridiculous as this?!

The shadow across the room was attributed to a flying branch of some sort maybe, as Aaron tried to compose himself, but then the sudden growling as Anna's bed continued shaking again? Aaron was legitimately scared, and could only let out a small little yelp.

...And when both the cat and dog plushies started moving and growling? Aaron. Was. Done.

The little boy bolted straight out of his bed and to the night light, trembling fingers flicking it on. And it would stay on throughout the rest of the night. "I. Don't. Care. About Jimmy. Any. More."

At some point between the creepy shadow by the curtains and the possession of their plushies, Annabelle had had enough. She began to sob, wailing as she buried her head beneath the blankets and willed all the monsters to please go away. She didn't care about Jimmy's stupid order--enough was enough, and she couldn't take any more scary things happening.

The lights. She wanted the lights on.

It seemed that Aaron had given in as well. Annabelle let out a whimper of alarm in-between sobs when she felt the bed shift to indicate that her twin brother had gotten up. "A-aaron? A-aaron, where a-are you--"

She cut herself off when she heard a familiar click. Hiccuping, she finally lowered the blankets, blinking at the boy with wide eyes.

"I-it's over now, right?" It looked like that was that for the Matthews house. In the end, they didn't prove that monsters and ghosts didn't exist. On the contrary, they ended up proving the exact opposite. Now whether the other kids would believe them...

UHHH +20 to go with Levi and Demi's scare attack?! IT WAS A CULMINATION OF PRETTY MUCH EVERYTHING that led Anna to freak out

...I think the same amount of FEAR can be given out to groups of people, right?
