Von noticed the blush but refused to comment on it, would just make things complicated again. They had to match? She frowned but since he said she would get a say she flattened it back out to her normal smirk. "I'm ok with most colors, not a fan of yellow or pink. But I doubt you'd wear pink." She smiled and nudged his shoulder. " Though pink can be very manly."
A masquerade? She would be thankful to have Attor at her side, that way he could tell her who was who. As he mentioned the masks she immediately gravitated to the fox but after a moment she remembered his nickname."What about a dragon, Dragon?" She smiled and could see him in a nice and slightly scary dragon mask.

Attor waved his hand like no way to pink. "I don't like yellow or pink either. Green or red would be preferred blue is also acceptable. Not sure I look best in blue, but it would do if that's what you want." Attor said not really ever having done this before. There had been twice he had taken someone with him. The first time he had chosen what he and his date would wear and the other time he had to endure what the girl had chosen for him...the cat mask. Normally he went by himself so he could use his time to focus completely on business mostly ignoring dancing less it was useful to catch so time alone with girls that had business that could be of used to him.
"I like that a dragon will be a nice change for me. What would you like for your mask Von? We don't have to match with those." Attor said with a smile pondering what mask would suit her.

She sighed with relief glad that he wasn't into yellow or pink. " I'd prefer red if that's alright with you. A nice crimson sounds wonderful.." She was really excited about this idea and for once she was interested in what she'd be wearing. As she thought her hand played with her necklace.
"I should prolly take out the red and silver dye from my hair. It's been forever since I've seen my natural hair color." She smiled over at him and chuckled slightly. He brought her back to the present with his mask question." Well if we don't have to match I'd take a fox." She hadn't even had to pause to think about it.

"I'll send an owl to my tailor then....I'll need your size, but that's such a think I shouldn't ask you so I'll write the letter and you can fill in the blanks." Attor said with a laugh thinking about it.
"Why I like the way your hair is?" Attor asked tilting his head. "What is the natural color?" He was curious about it, Attor had a slight thing for dyed hair that was displayed in his first interest in Naomi. "Fox is it,seems fitting for some reason."

Vonalli bit her bottom lip and started to open and close her locket. "I'll need to send an owl to my mother.. I've never had to know my size." Now she was really starting to regret not paying attention to Vi or her mother on such things. She mentally slapped her hand and decided she'd take more interest in such things.
" It's red, a dark red similar to the tips back here." She pulled her hair out of it's normal ponytail and over her shoulder. She bent the hair near the base to show him. " But I've been keeping it colored for it's odd effect, but for business, I would think a more natural look would be best, don't you?" She looked over at him completely out of her element and with a hint of being unsure of herself.

"Well its probably best to inform them since its in Paris and all anyways." Attor said as is was a simple after thought not some exciting journey to Paris.
"That would be pretty." Attor said with a smile doing his best to push her out of more romantic thoughts. He couldn't think of her that way it would ruin everything again. "Normally I might say yes, but this is a different game. Standing out in the younger crowd is the attractive thing to do. You aren't going to be dealing with office men you will be dealing with kids our age or a little older. So really you're safe either way, both hair colors are different and would stand out in their own way. Though the all red might lend to the completion of the costume." Attor ponders it for a moment.

Vonali shrugged. "Mom won't tell Dad, but she won't care long as I'm not under her feet. Dad will rant and rave how it's unfair his unpure b*****d daughter gets to go." She made a grimace but smiled at his compliment.
" Thanks, and yea it'd go well with the whole fox theme. Okay natural it is." She smiled and ran her fingers through her hair to get the ponytail kink out of her hair, letting it hang loose around her shoulders. " The only issue I see so far with our plans is where I will stay. I hate to admit it but the folks aren't that well off and won't let me go if I can't find the funds." She was highly embarrassed at her family's lack of wealth and showed it for the first time.

"Jerk...." Attor said with a snort. "Purity matters and yet it doesn't in guild. Just means its harder to get invites to parties, but not impossible. Our generations are caring less and less about it as long as money can be made." Attor said with an interesting look on his face.
"Tynan's dad will let you stay in his vacation home with us. He seems to be willing to do anything in hopes that I'll set his son strait and takes him to the proper functions and such. But even if he says no I'll just pay for your room, its not like I'm really spending that much money right now so its just sitting there." Attor said with a laugh. He didn't really notice she was embarrassed by her lack of wealth. Attor took wealth for granted because he had always had it even if his dad made him work for it if he wanted something, which was probably the one good thing his father had done for him.

Vonali nodded and simply stared out at the lake. She just knew her father would find a pure woman and get her pregnant and he'd unclaim her as his child. She would have to give up the Darix name. But if that didn't happen til she was of legal age she'd fight him to hell and back. Shaking the thought she returned to the present.
"That sounds like a plan. Might be a bit of fun spending time others this Christmas. So other than the ball what do you all do?" She leaned against him finally realizing she was cold and laid her head on his shoulder, trying to get as much heat as possible without making things too awkward.

Attor looked at her and wondered what she was thinking about. He realized he probably didn't to know as much about her life at home then she knew about his. "What are you thinking about?" Attor asked he never could help but ask her questions anymore. He wished to know everything about her despite himself and the situation.
"I don't know really. I'm figuring this year will be new for me too. I've never gone with Tynan before. It used to be my family and between the ball and a few meetings we didn't really do anything but practice, read, then open presents on Christmas morning." Attor said with a curious look on his face. The idea of spending Christmas with Vonali and Tynan was both exciting and awkward feeling all at the same time. He prayed Elliot wouldn't make an appearance he got even more riled around that boy then with Kenny. He knew he would not be able to hide that from Vonali. "Should be fun either way I think." Attor said as he felt her lean on him. He smiled and fought another blush as he looked towards the lake. Without even thinking he stretched out his cloak to help cover her from the wind. After all friends did stuff like that too.

She took the edge of the cloak and moved to scoot closer to him covering as much of herself as possible with it. "That sounds like so much fun. I'll need to safe up so I can get everyone something." She sighed and buried her face in his shoulder for a moment. " My dad. Since his family found out my mother wasn't pure and he divorced her, he's been searching for a new wife. They'll prolly have kids. He'll fight over my parentage and the new kid will get the Darix name and any wealth."
She hated to think where that would leave her, if he did. Her mother cared even less trying to get her claws in another guy to support her. Her parents weren't meant to have kids and she hoped if her father did have another one his second wife would be a good mother.
In the long run all Vonali hoped for is when the time came she could take care of herself. Who cared about the name, she'd make her own name, the money, she'd make as well and the reputation, it would leave her father's in the dirt.

"Hmm...yes I suppose some shopping is in order. I'd hate to wait till I get to Paris....I'll send off for some catalogs or something." Attor said thoughtfully he had never really had to buy Christmas presents for people.
"Screw him. You don't need his money or his name. I'll invest in you, you're bright and ambitious. You will be worth a lot one day I would love to be able to say I aided in some way." Attor smirked he was sure what ever venture she made in the future he would see any money invested in it back.

Vonali smiled as he spoke and she wondered what he and Kenny would like. At Attor's rant against her dad she laughed and wrapped an arm around his waist in a half hug. " Thank you for that endorsement, I'll have to get that legally drawn up." Her tone was light but the fact that he thought so highly of her mattered and touched her deeply.
" What would you like for Christmas?" She was so new to this caring thing, and had no idea what a guy with as much money as Attor had would want for a gift. For that matter what was she going to get Kenny? Ah the issues of caring.

Attor smiled it made him feel so good to make her happy and help ensure her future. "Please do I have enough paper work to deal with already." Attor said with a laugh and a way of his hand.
"Oh....well....I don't know....perhaps a song? You could play it on Christmas morning. I don't really want for things, but you may think me crazy, even a handmade Christmas card would be nice." Attor was completely serious he had never gotten such things and he some what longed for this things his money couldn't buy.

Vonali closed her eyes and shook her head laughing. " I don't think homework counts as paperwork." She bit the inside of her cheek, a song by Christmas, she might be able to pull that off. " A whole song by Christmas is a pretty tall order, hope it's not on back order." She laughed again enjoying that their teasing always seemed to lean towards business humor.
Now that she was under the cloak she'd warmed up and she was in no rush to get back out in the cold. " Do you think our parents even miss us a bit during the holidays?" Normally she didn't care about her family but on days like this her mind would wander now and then.
