It's fine. Take all the time you need to get better *hugs*

Dylis nodded at the suggestion. At least then she could show the two lions that she was an able-bodied little jackal. She would show that she could help out if she needed to. "Do they have a particular favorite?" she asked and then add, "that's something we could catch?"

"Well..." She stopped to think about it for a moment. Lions liked to eat a lot of things. That left the two with a large selection of prey to attempt to hunt. "They like antelope." She thought about it some more, "and zebra. But I don't think a baby zebra's mommy would like us chasing after it." So, antelope. They could take down a baby antelope couldn't they? Then again a weak, limping one was always an option as well.

Dylis thought for a bit when the other jackal responded. A zebra was definitely out of the question; it would be too hard for them to take down on their own. An antelope might not be, granted they could find a small one away from its herd.

"Which do you think would be best? And are there even any herds near by?"

"A grown antelope would be a little difficult to catch, but we're bound to find a slow baby or limping one." She stated before sniffing the air for any scents to follow. When she finally found one she started to slowly walk in the direction it was coming from, motioning for Dylis to follow.

Sahar had a point; they would never be able to catch a full grown antelope on their own. "That would work," she agreed and started sniffing around as the black and red jackal searched for a scent to follow. She must have found one because she gestured to Dylis to follow after her. Hopefully their hunting luck would stay with them to catch something for Sahar's friends.

Sure enough, as Sahar poked her head out from a bush she sniffed, there was a small herd of antelope. They were mostly all healthy, young adults, but a few smaller, weaker, slower looking ones mixed amongst the small crowd. "Which one do you want to go after?" She whispered to Dylis while crouching down, perparing for a chase.

Dylis followed Sahar and the scent until she was forced to stop by her friend stopping and poking her head out of the bush. When she was asked which she wanted to try for, Dylis poked her own head out to observe the herd.

"Well we could go for one of the weaker ones if we could get one away from the rest of them," She didn't think they would be able to catch one of the healthy young adults on their own; maybe if they were with the lions but definitely not alone.

Sahar examined the herd of animals again. "Hmm..." She thought about chasing after three seperate ones. The first was limping, and lucky enough if they decided to chase it-- was also an young adult. Meaning it was just recently cripled by something. Even if it bared through the pain of running with it's limp, Sahar was certain they could chase it down easily.

The second was another limping member, although elder and not so much even a snack for the two Jackals. An obvious choice for a desperate meal, but Sahar and Dylis weren't looking to bring back anything; they were looking to impress the ones they intended to feed.

Finally, the third choice. A calf had wandered farther away from the group, prancing around carefree with no concern about it's surroundings. Another easy kill.

"There's that limping adult over there. The elder one, and that baby." She motioned at each one as she spoke of it. "Personally, I think the adult would be more of a meal for two grown lions, but then again it's your choice so I'm fine with any one of them." She smiled at Dylis happily. Sahar was just happy to be hunting with another of her own kind, she'd be cheerful all day.

Dylis peeked out to examine the herd they had found. She looked to see if she could spot the ones that Sahar had. She managed to spot the calf first as it wandered away from the group it was with. The second one she spotted was the elderly member of the herd.

They could probably easily take it down, but it wouldn't be a very good meal for lions. It probably wouldn't even be a good meal for them!

The last one she spotted was the young adult. It would make for a very decent meal for the lions but the odds of them being able to get it away from the herd and take it down were very slim.

"I think our best bet will be the calf," Dylis replied, nodding to the carefree little one that had wandered away from the herd.

"Alright." Sahar crawled out of the bush instead of running out at full speed. Not that it really mattered, even if the baby did run back to the herd it was most likely a slow runner. If Sahar was right about that then she could just charge at the calf, but instead kept crawling near the tree-line in hopes of blending in with it. There were both advantages and disadvantages to being a dark color. One of many examples being you were spotted easier during the day.

Of course, Dylis was most likely easier to spot at night. Like Neirin. Neirin was very easy to find when it was dark out.

Sahar had never bothered to think about it before, but now as she was crawling towards her next prey, she began to think about how she was travelling with light colored animals. Inia had a little bit of black on her, but Sahar was the only really dark-colored critter of the group. She lowered herself more in the grass as she neared the calf. Luckly for Sahar it was curious of bushes.

While Sahar crawled out of the bush, Dylis made note of which direction she would be coming at the calf from and slunk down so she could take the other direction. That way they could stand a chance of trapping their prey if it tried to get away from them.

Luckily for her, the light made her slightly blend in with the grass; she briefly wondered how their prey hadn't scattered or pick up on Sahar while they were hunting.

She got as close as she could and waited for Sahar to pounce; then she would follow after her.

Sahar was still half-busy consumed by her own thoughts, but the sound of chewing caused her to react. Here she was standing right in front of the little baby, now all she needed to do was jump.

Unfortunatly though she was little slow to react, so she didn't exactly snag the calf. Merely jumped out of a bush while baring her teeth. Yet, just like when they hunted down the hare the deer attempted to reverse, only to end up in Dylis' path.

Sahar snarled at it, forgetting all thoughts she was preoccupied with before. Right now she had to worry about two lions too feed.

Dylis watched as Sahar jumped out of the bush and landed just a bit shy of the calf. As the other jackal snarled at the baby, the tan jackal made herself ready to strike as the calf backed up into her path.

The brief thought that they made a good team crossed her mind before she leaped at the calf, landing on its hind quarters and digging her claws in as she tried to shift her weight to bring the baby down.

The calf, in an attempt to shake Dylis off and scare off Sahar, reared and for a brief moment allowed the darkest of the three animals to jump at its throat. This in turn caused the deer to collapes; although almost taking the smaller jackal's shoulder with it.

Instead Sahar jerked backwards herself, luckly however not into anything wanting to eat her. "You alright?" She asked her hunting partner while catching her breath.

Sahar turned her gaze to where the last of the herd was fleeing. Now the only problem to overcome was getting the corpse back to Inia and Neirin...

When the calf reared back to try to dislodge her while scaring her friend, Dylis did her best to keep her grip with her teeth in the deer's hind quarters. As an extra bit of stability, she dug in her claws. She didn't see what had caused the animal to fall but she hoped that it wouldn't land on her.

Thankfully it managed to land on its other side and Dylis was able to get off of the kill without any issues. "Yeah," she said shakily, "How about you?" she asked as she took another look at the calf.

She looked between the corpse and Sahar and then repeated it once more. How in the world were they going to get this back to the two lions?
