"I haven't been camping, no," Gabe admitted. "It was never really something we did, which I guess is kinda surprising with my dad being an astronomer and all, but I guess he prefers warm inside labs?" He joked.
He unbuckled his seatbelt and opened the door, looking around excitedly. There was a certain "kid in a candy store" vibe to him. Siuch an excitable person. "Let's get this going!" He agreed, bouncing out of the SUV.

"Well then hopefully this will be a good new experience for you." Walking around the SUV she began to unhook the bungee cords that kept the stuff on top strapped to the roof. Pulling down the tent and some small containers.
She pointed a large, hip high card board box that contained the tent towards Gabe with a grin. "You wanna try to set up the tent while I grab more stuff out the back?" Some people had a hard time with setting up the tent. This would certainly be a good test to see how his novice camping skills held up. And if he could read directions.

"I'm sure it will be!" Gabe said, following her around the back and holding out his hands to take anything handed to him.
He eyeballed the box, frowning. "Can't be too hard, right?" He said, then took a deep breath. "Right, got this." There were directions. He could read directions. Directions were good.

Vyth laughed lightly as he frowned at the box. "There are directions in the box. I think they should be easy enough to follow. If you can get it up in under an hour you'll be my hero. Think of it as new camper initiation." She grinned widely before moving to the back of the truck and opened up the back door. Placing more boxes and containers on the ground.
"If you need help don't be afraid to ask." She called before climbing into the back to dig out things that were packed further inside.

"Right, yeah, easy enough." He could sort through convoluted theories on who shot JFK, putting up a tent should be easy by comparison.
He opened the box, making finding the directions step one, and unfolded them, setting them on the ground next to him. Then, he began to sort through parts, and as Vythica unpacked he read the directions over. "Okay, looks simple, I can handle this!" He said determinedly, starting at the beginning.

Every now and again Vyth would peek over to where he was putting the tent together. A sly smile on her lips as she began to sort the boxes and containers into smaller piles.
Cooking stuff over here. Food over there. Games and junk here. Essential thingieeeessss there!
She looked around then up. Perhaps she should hang up some of the food in one of the trees to keep animals away. That was what you did right? She really did not feel like waking up to a bear in their campsite. Walking back to the SUV she pulled out a rolled up rope before heading back to the food containers.

Gabe figured he was doing pretty good with getting the tent set up. Getting poles into it was pretty easy, and so was connecting them, and such. He couldn't stop grinning. This...was going thoroughly well. It didn't look stupid, it was reasonably tent-shaped.
He turned to look, and gave Vyth a reassuring grin. "If you need help getting stuff up let me know, I think I've got this tent pitching thing pretty well handled."

She had to admit. Vyth was pretty impressed with how quickly Gabe was getting the tent set up without any issues. Perhaps she should have hidden the directions. Ha.
"Make sure you stake it down so it doesn't go flying away with a breeze." Just a little reminder. Tents weren't all that heavy and a small gust could topple it over or send it flying a few feet out of camp.
Pulling a small knife out of her jeans pocket, she cut smaller ropes out of the longer one before tossing them over sturdy branches on the trees around their campsite. They could raise and lower whatever food they needed whenever. There was no serious need to do it right away of course.

Gabe was very glad he had the directions; they were really saving him in the making of this tent.
"Ah, yeah, thanks for the reminder." He said. Of course he would forget that, of all things. He grabbed the included stakes and stuck them into the included loops. He stood back and grinned. "Tent pitching achieved."

"Awesome!" She tossed a sleeping bag at him. "Lets get stuff set up inside then we can set up some of the stuff out here. Like the fire pit and junk like that. We'll hafta go get some kindling eventually. Shouldn't be too hard to find some dry sticks and the like."
She carried over another sleeping bag plus her bag full of clothes, unzipped the tent and stepped inside. Settling her rolled up sleeping bag down before unrolling it and tossing her bag of clothes into a corner.

Gabe caught the sleeping bag, still grinning like an idiot. First test of outdoorsiness, passed. "Okay, anything besides sleeping bags go in here?" He asked, ducking in through the door. "And uh, do we want these rolled or unrolled?"
Utter camping ignorance, it was showing a little.

"You'll wanna grab your clothes and stuff like that." She quickly stepped outside once more. "Keep them rolled up until it is time to go to sleep. Don't want any creepy critters crawlin' around in there with you when you are trying to get some zees. Keeping the tent flap closed will help with that too."
Looking about the SUV for one last check, she closed the back door and dusted off her jeans a little. "I think we've got all we need to take out of the truck." She moved towards the ring of stones that surrounded the fire pit. There wasn't a lot of ash in there so she suspected not many people used this area.
That would be good. Meant they probably wouldn't have anyone wandering through.

"....Rolled, gotcha. Definitely don't want any, uh, visitors." He acknowledged, setting the sleeping bag down and then walking out to get his bag.
"Thanks for unpacking," he said, scooping up his bag and hurriedly sticking it into the tent. "It's really gorgeous out here. Quiet, too, that's nice."

"Thanks for putting up the tent. And so quickly too." She scooted a couple of the rocks around the fire pit closer to each other. Just to tighten up the circle a bit. When she was done, she put her hands on her hips and took a deep breath of the forest air.
It was so clean and a little bit chilly. Making her lungs burn just a bit from the chill. "It is beautiful out here yea. I'm a city girl but I can appreciate the beauty of nature too. Especially out here where it rules."

"I am surprised I did not irreparably screw it up." Gabe said lightly. He reached up to muss his hair, taking a slow turn around to look at the entirety of the surrounding area.
Wow, he was really doing this. He was in the woods, on a camping trip with his girlfriend. He had pitched a tent and everything. "It's so weird for things to be so...peaceful. I've lived in Destiny City my entire life; it,s never like this." He paused. "It's....really nice. This was a great idea, Vyth."
