Keilana tried to ignore his comment about her rarely apologizing, it was true she could be stubborn, extremely stubborn and thick headed. Though Keilana supposed they were both similar in that mind set...neither wanting to cave in or back down from what they believed to be the right opinion, even if the truth was staring at them blatantly in the face. Watching as he took the spoon and started to eat she felt...mildly better. As if the silent peace offering meant everything was going to be okay from now on.
At the mention of bugs she gave a face. Despite the fact the bug meat hadn't tasted that bad, it was still a bug. Sighing she reached for a second spoon and ladled out a portion for herself. Resting her wrist against her knee she blew on the contents in the spoon before she sipped it. Her stomach growled demanding more and she couldn't help but give a small soft laugh.
"Yeah...on both counts. I ...miss the dry, I don't care for how the cold seems to seep into your very bones...it feels like it will never leave you.." Keilana stated trying to keep the conversation going, talking always meant that things were getting better right? "And...the bugs...weren't THAT bad...its better than starving right? I am surprised the people who live in Zena don't leave...it seems like such a harsh environment to live in.."

Jacinthus looked over at his sister for a long moment before he gave her a smile, "I am getting better and better with my bow, I will make sure that we never have to worry about starving again, I promise." It was a promise that he was able to make and keep now, he had the skills to back up his words after all. He would make sure that they all ate well, maybe he could join the hunts now, go after larger game like the aldabuk now. He could even go at that sort of thing solo, no reason why his family shouldn't enjoy the best meat out there now that he was able to wield a weapon worthy of hunting such a thing. Though as it stood Jacinthus wasn't above catching and eating a Witu if the chance arose to do so, as often as those things had tried to bite him in the a** in the past he would make a stew of them now that he had the skills to do so.
"Once we get back things will change, I'll make sure of it." He had not only Keilana to look after now but also Takoda. He wanted to make sure that they both were happy, content, well fed, and safe. He had been honing his skills since he was little to make sure of such things for Keilana, even when all he'd had to hunt with was a walking stick and heavy rocks, and now he would do so for Takoda as well. He was the man of the family after all... though he wouldn't say such a thing in front of Takoda, not wanting to insult the sweet Healer by saying so. It was just a position that he felt that he needed to take, that of alpha dog, because he felt better suited for him. That and it allowed him to protect the two of them with all of his might.
Finishing up the stew in his bowl he went about getting himself some more, "There is going to be a bit of a walk between here and home, should be an interesting one." He didn't mind Sauti as much as Zena but still, it would be an obstacle between here and home. If nothing else at least there were interesting beasts there to be hunted for their meat, something to look forward to as he'd hunted in those lands once before with the Wind Tribeswoman Ayo some time ago, "We should consider stocking up on some supplies here, get more when we reach Sauti, and again when we hit Tale." Just to make sure they had enough food to cover the entirety of the trip without them getting bored by eating the same thing over and over.

Keilana gave her brother a look, after all she couldn't deny he wasn't getting better with his bow, it would be like saying that the water was actually pink instead of clear. Though the thought of eating real meat, aldabuk...made her almost drool. She could picture the different ways it could be prepared, over a fire, in a stew, rotating over a spit.........distracted momentarily as she daydreamed about the different things she would plan on doing with the meat her brother brought him she shook herself slightly as he continued talking.
Things would change? Her eyes narrowed as she looked casually into the fire, well things would definitely change. They would have a strange annoying shifter living with them. Goody. "I am guessing he is going to sleep in your bed?" She asked sounding irritated as if she didn't want to know but was compelled to. There were still times...when she would have nightmares and...quietly sneak into her brothers hammock. Of course it had been a long time since that had happened, but once they got home she knew it would never happen again.
Bitterness filled her, it left a bad taste in her mouth as she tried to swallow it down. At the mention of the walk home Keilana wondered if she should just offer to come home separately though she knew he wouldn't allow it. Hammer or not she was still his little sister, and so she didn't voice the suggestion knowing it would be turned down.
"Maybe when we get home I should find myself a new place to live...give you two...lovebirds your space." Ooooh...Keilana, she knew how to make a conversation uncomfortable.

A thought seemed to flee from Jacinthus's mind all at once as he was asked such a question, his eyes going a little wide, cheeks flushing. Takoda was going to sleep in his bed? It hadn't been something that he had actually thought about the really the idea was one that he couldn't protest against, the idea of getting to go to sleep and wake up with the healer in his arms, it was a rather nice thought, wasn't it? He couldn't help but to give a bit of a smile before quickly shaking his head, "Ahh, I suppose that would be up to him." Best not to sit around drooling, especially in a place like Zena where that drool would freeze to his face he thought to himself before he turned his attention back to the second bowl of soup that he had dished up for himself instead, "Whatever makes him more comfortable." Yeah, best to think about Takoda's comfort over his own desires to have the Shifter in his arms.
His ears gave a little twitch when his sister spoke again and he jerked his head up, starring at her as though she had stabbed him, "Ah... w-what?" She wanted to find a new place? To give the two of them their space? It was never something that he considered, though maybe he should have given the two of them didn't seem to be the biggest fans of one another, but it was just now occurring to him that she might want to leave. Lowering his gaze for a moment his mind seemed to be racing before he snapped his fingers, "Actually... you could be right. Ahh, not about you moving out, but about a new place. Ours is already small, somewhere we lived because we orphans that needed somewhere to live but had zero influence in our tribe. It's different now, we have rank and power, we damn well deserve a better place, a bigger one, one where we can stretch out without hitting the ceiling with our hands." He told her, giving a nod his head as thought such a thing had been decided.
"We will see about finding a place when we get back, a big one where we can all be comfortable, where we have room for all the treasures we have collected, and that way you don't have to feel as though you need to fly the coop." He told her then started to eat his stew again, already thinking about where they might find their new home in the village.

Somehow what she was trying to implicate had either been lost on her brother or.... he was being stubborn and ignoring the fact she had basically threatened to leave home. Grumbling she had to wondering if he was doing it just to annoy her or if he truely wanted her to stay with him. Selfish parts of herself wanted nothing more than to knock her brother out and drag him home by herself. Adding another to the mix just ruined the great bond they had...or least that was what she was convinced would happen.
"I don't think a bigger place is...the answer." Came her reply, through it was more a grumbling grouching response. Looking over she felt the need to take another ladle full of the stew before her brother ate it all. Cupping the hot bowl to her chest she didn't feel inclined to eat and thus poked at it with her spoon.
"I don't know, what if Takoda...wants space? I mean...having me hanging around would be awkward wouldn't it?" Okay lets try this again, lets see what he replies with this time. The woman was getting herself rather riled up as it was.

Jacinthus gave a soft sighing sound, "I thing that it should be the answer." He murmured quietly as he worked on finishing off the second bowl of stew that he'd dished up for himself. He didn't want to lose his sister because he'd gotten a lover and vice versa. He'd like to believe that it was possible for them all to live together in a happy, safe manner, but it was rather hard to tell how it would go. He knew that Keilana could be stubborn but at the same time there was a long trip ahead of them, right? Maybe the two of them would get to know one another maybe come to at least tolerate the presence of each other if they decided that they couldn't like each other?
Lifting his head he asked, "Can we see how the trip home goes? See if the two of you start to get along any better before we do something as drastic as you trying to leave home?" He asked in a quiet voice. While he wouldn't force Keilana to stay if she was really against it maybe there was a way that he could talk her into staying? He sure hoped so... he didn't want to lose her and especially not if it were only because things might end up 'awkward', "At least give it that long, little Kei, please?"

There was pouting, a young woman who was now staring at the floor of the cave unable to look at her brother as it meant that she may yell at him, punch him or cry. The latter being the one she really didn't want to do. Crying in front of her brother would only show how much of this conversation bothered her. Though ..Keilana could sense the near pleading in his tone. how he really wanted things to work out...despite her resistance.
Sighing she ran a chilled finger through her hair tangling her fingers in it slightly and cursing under her breath.
"I won't make any promises...but ...I...guess I'll try...and...get along with him." She muttered though she knew it was a shallow promise as she felt like punching Takoda in the nose already...and he wasn't even with them.

When his sister finally answered him he gave a slow nod of his head, "That is all that I can ask for." He said after a moment of thought. He knew that he wouldn't really be able to push it anymore then he already had, he'd only risk pissing her off and making her beat him into a worse state then that shield wielding idiot had already done. Best that he didn't get anymore beatings for the moment, sure that he wouldn't be able to survive another one. He gave his sister his best smile, "Thank you Kei." Even if she weren't as willing as one might like at least she was going to try.
Given that he had dropped quite a strange announcement into her lap tonight, that he was bring a foreign man home with them as his mate, he supposed that he couldn't as anymore then she was willing to offer. Turning back to the stew once more he finished it off while plotting their next move. They had a lot to prepare so that they could move out, something that they were all looking forward too. They'd spent more then enough time playing ambassadors to the countries of Sauti and Zena, it was time to head home and instead turn their attention back to Tale once more instead.
