Silver would kill Ananchel if that seraphim breathed a word about her reaction to their future child in the.. well. The future.
However.
The flash of bright color, and Silver KNEW she heard a hiss somewhere..
Had Silver leaping back with a startled squeak, one hand going out to grab Dixie's. Standing there and realizing that maybe a teenage girl with yellow skin wasn't the best defense, Silver peeked forewords.
"Is that..." she paused. "Is she." she corrected. "Mine?"
Ananchel walked over, leaning down in attempt to pick the child up. "I think so, Silver." she responded dryly.

"Yep." Dixie heard the hiss as well and saw a flash of... a lot of white. What did this kid look like? She had received the same amount of information as was usual for any other sentencing, but she still wasn't clear on a lot of the background surrounding this new arrival. Snakey sounds she could explain, but probably wouldn't unless asked. But everything else about this kid was a mystery. Dixie could honestly say that they had never had anybody like this land on the bullseye.
The kid was awfully quiet. But movement was good. Dixie stepped forward too so Silver wouldn't feel so exposed. "I don't think she would hurt you," she said. "Most of them are too confused to do much but cry."

Silver blinked. It was Ananchel who reached in to pick up the child, and was met by the startled and disgruntled squeak of surprise. Shock maybe, because that was how Silver felt-- and she was sure that she would have uttered the same noise.
"She's so... bright." Silver said. Ananchel gently cradled the baby, cooing slighlty as she straightened.
"Pretty." Ananchel said mildly.
Silver smiled. She reached out, hesitating at the face of the two snakes. Oooh... what if they... but they didn't bite her. Sure, they hissed-- but they were too small.
Deciding not to pursue the thought of 'what happens if those snakes grow any larger?!' Silver melted.
"Aw, she's gorgeous." she gurgled.
Ananchel looked up behind her to Dixie. "Is there anything we need to do?" she asked.

Bright indeed. Pretty too. And those snakes were pretty cool. Dixie wondered if either of the two most recent arrivals had kept any of their magic. Well, at least Dixie assumed they had magic in the first place. Resurrecting the dead and walking around with animals floating around your head weren't exactly things most people could do without it.
"Normal baby things," Dixie said vaguely. "Figure out which foods she likes, what she likes to do. A lot of us don't like toys, but she was a kid when she left, so..." She shrugged. "Do you have baby things at home? We've got a bunch of stuff for new parents, if you want to take a look."

Ananchel snorted, sending a sliding glance towards Silver. Sure, they had baby things. Lots of plushies and the like... except a certain college student seemed to be the one who played with them.
"She was only a child..." Silver murmured. She had seen the photo-- but it was still disconcerting, because she didn't know how to react. What would it be like to, be put into child form again? "Dixie..." she asked. "Are they still the same? Is her mind still that of a childs? Isn't it frustrating then, because your body doesn't let you do everything you're used to? What if she goes crazy? Is this like some kind of straight jacket?"
Ananchel sighed. "We'd love to look at the things you have, thank you."

It certainly was a punishment. "I guess it depends on your new parents," Dixie said truthfully. "It is really annoying to not be able to do the things you used to, but if you're got someone who understands, it makes it easier." She had never actually met any of their number who had gone insane, but she'd heard stories...
"I think it's more of a second chance." A lot of criminals couldn't even execute the same crime on Gaia as they had on their home world anyway. Dixie was sure Gaians didn't taste half as good as her kind back home. Although, she supposed 'eating a lesser sentient race' was just as much of a crime as eating your own.
"Sure," she replied. "Just follow me." She reentered the house and indicated the supply closet. "Right in there."

Wondering idily if she was going to be transported to another world if she stepped into the closet, Silver paused, peering inside and nodded her head. Seemed safe enough.
Ananchel rolled her eyes. Honestly. Where did her ward come up with these things? "Are you..." she looked at Dixie, and stopped. No. Maybe it was rude to ask. Besides. She didn't want to give the wrong example. In this family, SHE was the sane, logical and human one!
Not the real human.
Silver turned on the light, and held the baby out in front of her, choosing the things that had the baby react in some way. Looking inside and deciding maybe she wanted to have a couple of things as well, she looked outside.
"Ananchel?" she asked. "Can you carry all this?"
Ananchel sighed. "Fine." she replied. "I will."
Silver beamed. She knew there was a reason she kept her seraphim around!

Dixie grinned at the seraphim. Was she what? Oh well, she supposed it wasn't important. The criminal's smile remained as she saw how much stuff Silver was liberating from the closet. It was always nice to see one person's crap become another's treasure.
"Sorry I don't have any way for you to carry that stuff," she said. "Maybe you could put some of it in a diaper bag or something."

Ananchel quickly told her ward.
"It's not in the shape of a diaper, Silver."
And was met with a cool response of. "I knew that."
Carrying things, loading them inside each other and shoving them towards Ananchel, Silver grinned, peeking her head over the edge of it and balancing the baby in the other.
"It was really nice to meet you, Dixie." she said. "How often are we supposed to meet? Will we see each other every month? Hmm... have you raised babies before? My mom had a hernia when sh--"
"Silver." Ananchel said firmly.
Silver smiled. "It was nice to meet you." she repeated, and nodded her head. "But I think my warden wants me to go now."

Dixie very nearly laughed at all of Silver's questions. She wanted to tell herself that she didn't act this way, like a teenage girl, but she couldn't. At least it was only occassionally. "It was nice to meet you too." She grinned and said, "You can come back any time you like. I might not be here, but this front part of the house is almost always open anyway. And I've never raised a kid and I never want to. Good luck!" She looked at the new baby. "This one doesn't seem too bad."

Silver beamed. Her new daughter wasn't bad? Hey, that was great news! Nodding her head and dragging some of the stuff out with her, she smiled.
"Well, thank you for everything." she said. She would have offered her hand-- except she didn't want to drop her child too soon. "I'll be seeing you around."
Ananchel almost rolled her eyes. Why did that sound so sinister? "It was a pleasure to meet you, Dixie." Ananchel said firmly.
The baby merely blinked. What the--
Wondering out loud if there were such things as taxi's, Silver nodded her head before dragging her companions out the door. It was still young yet! And her butt didn't hurt any more.
((aand... that's a wrap?))
