[PRP] Nightmares (Jaryx & Ru'yah)

He smiled slightly when he noticed the small change in her expression. It was amazing how quick they had come to depend on each other. "Who knows," he began, "maybe the next time we see each other, you can introduce me to your new mate. I can see if he's alright for you." he stated with a wink. This was the most playful he had ever been with her. He hoped that the optimism he was showing her right now would make his departure a little easier on her. He didn't want to leave her upset; who knows what would happen to her if she was in that mind set.

Ru'yah laughed. She couldn't help it. The idea of Jaryx sizing up her mate was quite funny. She rolled over onto her back, allowing herself to think of this day as Jaryx merely leaving temporarly. Which, if all went as well as he thought it would, could be very true.

"I'm hungry." She said, patting her stomach. "Can we go get breakfast before you leave?" She asked. Although it might have been the last time they'd hunt together, Ru'yah would treat it as she had treated the rest. Nothing ruined Ru'yah's mood more than doing things differently; as her happiness would begin to fade if allowed herself to think things weren't alright.

So she'd pretend. Pretend that this was just another day, just another hunt with her friend. Even though the reality was more cruel then simply that...

When she laughed, Jaryx breathed a small, mental sigh of relief. Maybe he wouldn't have to worry too much when he left. She would be okay, at least until she found a new traveling companion. When she asked if they could go hunting before he left, he nodded.

"Of course," he replied, "We'll find ourselves a good meal to mark the occasion." It would be their last meal together until they ran into each other again. He gave her another smile as he stood up and stretched out.

She rolled back over onto her stomach and stood up, yawning once more before taking the lead. She sniffed the ground, smiled, for many reasons more than it seemed. "This way." She said to the cheetah next to her.

She had smelt nothing she hadn't smelt before. Indeed, it was a herd of some sort. A herd she thought. That was how Jaryx and her had first met wasn't it? They were both hunting the same herd, and Ru'yah had taking down a mighty big beast.

Maybe they'd find a herd as big as that one again. Maybe not. But Ru'yah was happy nevertheless. Because, even though she and Jaryx might never see each other again, the possiblity that they would, would always exist. That, seemed more important to the lioness then anything else so far. The possiblity. Never had a word seemed more important than before now. It's possible that they would meet again. Even possible that by whim they'd join the same pride!

And so she repeated in her head the same line over and over: 'It's possible, it's possible, it's possible...'
