Troy smiled. So he did save her a**, and he was getting a date out of it! He was really feeling like a true Knight at that moment. It must be what its like to be one of the knights or princes in those Disney movies - though the only one his mother had let him see were Sleeping Beauty and Cinderella because the others had bestiality, little people, fishwomen in bras, or people of other ethnicities, none of which were deemed okay by Mrs. Cunningham.
"A normal night, huh?" he asked, a bit distracted. The girl gesturing to her clothes was like an invitation to check her out, and he got a bit lost in her uh, chest area. "I could go for that. I should erm, give you my real name and stuff."
He then cusped his hands so he can talk in a soft whisper. "It's Ricky!"
He made a proud face, as if he was proud of remembering his name. It was much like the face you'd see on a child who just informed you they used the potty all by themselves.

If Aventine had noticed Troy looking at her, she didn't comment on it. Instead of focusing on anything of the sort, she couldn't help but burst out in laughter. "Oh, aren't you just adorable," she concluded, leaning forward to pat the man on the cheek. "All right, Ricky," she said, keeping her voice low. She didn't bother to comment that he'd already sort of given her his name, and instead just spoke quietly. There didn't seem to be anyone around, so she felt no need to cusp her hands in a similar manner as him. "I'm Anella. Are you good with phone numbers, or do you have something to write on? —Or should I just meet you somewhere, some time, and we can try to pick each other out through the crowd?"
She was up for a challenge and certainly had no problem flitting through the crowd, looking for Ricky. Just as long as she didn't get stood up, at least. He might not have been her type, per se, but what was wrong with having a little fun? It wasn't like she was in a committed relationship, anyway.
And, hell—what was the worst thing that came out of it? Company for dinner? Someone to hang out with, spend some time with? Troy—Ricky, whatever—certainly was easy on the eyes, and that definitely made it worth a try.

Troy knew that he shouldn't be the one to suggest a place. He had tried this before and there was never a positive response from the girls he'd ask out, as the only place he normally thought to go out to dinner were Waffle House or International House of Pancakes. He'd better leave this one up to Aventine - or Anella.
"If you know a place, I'll be there anytime," he smiled. His face lit up as he had an idea. It was a rare occurrence. "Do you have your uh, ring thing? You can like write notes and then send them with your Knight ring." He wasn't being clear, but he was trying. He pointed to his own ring as an example. "If you have some uh, paper or pen or something I can put my number and send it to you."

All plans of dinner were momentarily forgotten and she looked down at her bare fingers and then back up at the page. "Ring thing? No, I've got my clothes and my perfume. What sort of knight ring is it that you're talking about, exactly? —And, uh. What's it do? Where am I supposed to pick one up at?" she asked as she leaned forward to examine Troy's.
She was still very much in the process of learning things about being a knight, and while she would have preferred to make a good impression around this handsome young man. At this point, she had just about given up; first impressions were vital and she hated looking like she had no idea what she was doing—even if she had absolutely no clue what he as talking about, now.

"Erm, not sure," Troy started. "I found mine at my uh, wonder place I think they call it. But you like, can write a note and then stamp it with your ring and it sends to people you want it to go to with some kind of weird alien voodoo magic. Or that's how I get it, at least." He felt bad, as a claimed-to-be faithful Christian man, using this weird alien voodoo magic but he supposed the internet wasn't much different than that. Or his understanding of the internet, at least.

"Oh," she said, sounding somewhat wistful. "Well, I want one. So I just have to go to this wonder place and then I'll get one? —Is it any wonder, or like." She frowned, suddenly realizing that this was not the first time she'd heard the word 'wonder' in conversation with a knight.
Particularly suspicious, she then sounded rather annoyed when she asked. "Wait—do you mean I have to go look for it somewhere? Does it have to be at my wonder? Because, I'm all the way over in Rome, baby, and I am not in the mood to sit on a plane for nine hours just to get a ring."
Not if all it could do was send messages! Hell, that's what cell phones were for, right?

"Naw, you don't need to be on a plane," Troy laughed. His dopey smile was enormous at that moment. It was a rare occasion that he was the one teaching someone else something. "My wonder is all the way up in the outer space area. You like, erm..." He thought for a moment. "You focus really hard on something right? Like, focus on your weapon," Troy explained. He never got a full explanation himself, he just did what felt right. He did have a sheet of paper with the phrase on it, but he was too embarrassed to show her it. He'd become increasingly aware that he wasn't a good writer or speller, and didn't like to let other people in on that too often. "Then you say uh..." He thought for a moment, focusing really hard on his weapon hoping that it would come to him. And it did! He was doing it! "I pledge my life and loyalty to Chronos, and to Troy. I humbly request your aid, so that in return I may give you mine."Oh wait, he did it. Oops. And then Troy and Aventine Pages disappeared.
