Venice's enthusiasm was more than a bit contagious, and Anella found herself grinning. "Sore a**? Not a problem. I don't mind when things get rough," she promised with a wink. "About the skates, though—are you sure?" Anella didn’t waste much time before she was examining the skates. "Oh, wow—these are nice," she complimented after a moment. "Way nicer than any pair I ever owned as a kid." She selected one from the bunch, figuring they were her size, and then against glanced at Venice. "All right! So—what do I need to do, then?" she asked. Already she was excited about the idea of picking up a new sport, and Venice's personality made her want to give it a go more now than ever.
The creepiness was more amusing than startling, and Anella got the impression that around Venice, it was impossible to have a dull moment. Venice was clearly passionate about her sport, and if she was so willing to get someone else interested, how could Anella say no? Venice had more than sold her on the idea.

Venice battered away Anella’s reluctance with a wave of her hand as she allowed the girl to inspect the skates. This was what they spent their winnings on from the championships, it was to make sure no one was left out, even those that couldn’t afford the expensive shoes. Venice would never turn down a possible candidate over a mundane thing like money and she made certain that a little bit of their spoils were reserved for team uniforms. Watching her pick a pair Venice fought the need to grab her legs and shove the boots on, the eagerness to take her hand and get her skating was almost too exciting to bare. Biting her bottom lip she examined the skates she had chosen making sure everything was there and in good nick, the last thing she wanted was Anella unable to break with a dodgy stopper.
“Well first my dear is we need you up and skating, if its been a few years since you last tried we’re going to have to build up your balance and speed for the ground up. Once we have that sorted we can introduce you to the track and then see which role you fit into best. I can imagine your built for blocking with your rugby experience but with your sexy slim physic I bet you can move fast too. Oh woe is me, your just going to have to show me all of your lovely skills aren’t you!” She placed a mocked hand against her brow in an attempt to look aghast but if anything she looked more like a estatic kid after escaping a sweetshop with all the goods. Grabbing her cigarette box she ripped a piece off and pulled a pen out from god knows where began to write her cell number.
“Just so we can arrange one to one training sessions, anytime you want to call me, morning, noon or night, I will be here. You’re more than welcome to stick around now though if you want and have a go? I promise to hold your hand….and your waist too of course; I don’t want you falling over now do I?” Her words purred the last sentence as she handed the piece of card over and await her answer.

Admittedly, Venice's playful flirtation was rubbing Anella the right way; she enjoyed being complimented—especially by such a good looking girl. "You sure know the right things to say to keep a girl wanting to come back for more." She winked again, for good measure, and reached for the girl's number. Out of habit, she glanced it over before pocketing it.
"I would be most interested in a one on one session," she replied rather coyly. "So I'll tell you what. Let me practice a bit, get back on my feet, figure out what I'm doing, and then I will be more than happy to take you up on that offer. What say I give you a ring sometime, in the very near future, and we'll rendezvous? I can meet you back here, you can help me figure things out, holy my hand all you want. We'll work up an appetite, and I'll take you out to a nice dinner to make up for all the trouble. Provided I haven't busted up my a** so much that I can't sit." She donned a perky smile. "Sound good?"

The need to say she had had a lot of practice was the stupid answer that came to mind and with a forced laugh she managed to resist the foolish comment being spoken. This girl didn’t need to know how many people Venice had crashed and burned with, it was slightly depressing number. Yet here she was and Venice relished in the thought that all she had said was being taken as harmless flirting and not creepy innuendos. There was a fine line between them and Venice had often been told that she danced the Macarena between the two.
Displaying a toothy grin the derby girl nodded in anticipation at the wonderful suggestion Anella had proposed. A possible friendly not-date-date perhaps? It was almost too good to be true! What had she done to deserve this gorgeous creature even giving her the time of day?
“That. Sounds. Amazing. I would love too. You’ve just described my perfect night! Training, food and…uhh something else but still, 2 out of three, I could do so much worse!”
She was about to say more when an erratic voice started to bellow from inside the warehouse. Someone was screaming bloody murder, shouting profanities and including her name between each explicit. Rolling her eyes she shrugged at Anella as if it was a common occurrence.
“Someone must have found my new ideas for the uniform. Crotch-less panties, it’s the future of this sport, I can see it….and if people wore them I would see a lot more too! Hehe, I better go but listen, don’t forget me ok? Ring me as soon as your find your feet and I promise to show you a wild night.”
She had been backing up slightly as the noise from the building became increasing violent and others voices began joining the fray. Not that Venice seemed at all phased by it as she smiled, waved and did the “ring me” signal with her hand before skipping round and hopping towards the open doors, her arms held up in a defensive pose as boot came flying past her head.

Anella looked after Venice, torn between genuine concern for what she was getting herself into, and profound amusement. If anyone had told her to expect this for the evening, she'd have called them crazy. Even now she was considering what had just happened, and had it not been for the skates in her hand, she might have blamed an overactive imagination and a lack of sleep.
A laugh fell from her lips and she straightened herself; without company, the area had become profoundly more disturbing—and downright creepy. It was with great care and caution that she handled the skates; she really didn't want to damage them.
Tonight had turned out far better than she'd imagined; now she just had to find a nice place for dinner and a good place to try out these babies. Preferably a very secluded are where no one could witness the humiliation of trial and error.
