It wasn't that Aventine was necessarily disappointed with Tsui's attack, just that she hadn't been expecting it. When she thought of magic, she thought of sparkles and rainbow and fireballs—not fists of fury.

…They were impressive fists of fury, at least.

But she couldn't let Tsui have all the action. Aventine might not have had the ability to summon a powerful blow like that, but it didn't take much to get her going. She hardly realized that Tsui was stepping back to give her a go—for all she knew, Tsui needed time to recharge!

Moving quickly, Aventine darted to the youma and landed an attack that wasn't quite as spectacular as Tsui's; using her momentum and the sheer power of her legs, she slammed her heel down on the youma's chest, trying very hard not to cringe.

It felt like crunching a giant bug—which was gross as hell—so the look of disgust was rather evident on her face. One stomp might not have been enough, but if it was one thing Aventine didn't have an issue with, it was stomping on bugs.

Youmas, while quite a bit bigger than bugs, were still pests.

So she stomped, mashing into it as hard as she possibly could, as many times as she possibly could while it was still down.

To say that Tsui was both relieved and proud was an understatement; she was never the type to sit and think of all the many what if scenarios that could occur if something went wrong. That was part of her flaw, to never really think ahead, but it was nice to see Aventine pommel on the youma instead of her missing or the youma catching her. It gave Tsui hope for her knightly allies, and in truth, it was a form of extracting her own personal revenge on the Negaverse during the ambush. To see a Page beating down on a youma... yes, it was a rather delicious irony, one that Tsui couldn't help but finding herself revel in.

But not for too long, Tsui reminded herself, and she called to the Page when it looked as though Longarms was going to try to reach for her with his long, slender arms. She moved to intervene, grabbing one of them and trying to kick the other with her foot as she shouted to her new ally. "Try to aim for his neck- its small and looks pretty weak!"

It was a sound strategy, Tsui thought. Why else would a youma have such long arms if not to protect the weaker parts of its body? It was worth a shot, anyways.

Aventine couldn't help but let out the faintest squeak when she saw the arm—and was glad that Tsui was there to help her manage all of them. It didn't take more than a second for her to respond to Tsui's command. She jumped in the air and slammed both her feet down on the creatures neck.

The response was immediate; the creature let out the whisper of a croak before crumbling beneath her assault. Admittedly, she might have gone a little overboard with stomping it, but it was so easy to just want to crush the life out of the youma once she'd gotten started. She was panting, just slightly, and looked to Tsui with a broad grin.

"—Well, that's one way to relieve stress, yeah?" she asked with a slightly strained laugh. For as much of a pain in the a** as it had been, she found, strangely, that she had almost even enjoyed fighting the youma this time.

To say that Tsui was proud of the young Page was a gross understatement, and her beaming smile could only be compared to a tiger mother watching her cub take down a boar for the very first time. Though, Tsui recalled that this wasn't her first youma, but still, it was something to be proud of.

She gave Aventine a friendly, though perhaps a little too hefty, pat on the back to let her know that she was proud, and if that wasn't enough, then certainly her boisterous words would have been enough. "Nothing relieves stress more than dusting youma, well, except making punching a few Negaverse officers in the face... but I wouldn't recommend that. Not unless you're feeling lucky, or have a few more battles under your belt."

Lord knows there didn't need to be two Tsuis running around. She wanted Aventine to be able to defend herself, but not actively looking for trouble, if that made any sense whatsoever. Tsui kicked around the remains of the youma, throwing a question to the Page of Venus as she did so. "So, you think you have good handle on what's what now? Your duties, goals, who's friend and foe?"

Aventine didn't have much time to be satisfied of the takedown before she was facing Tsui's question, and though she still wore a crooked grin, her response took her a few extra seconds. "Well," she said, sounding particularly serious.

Was she really ready to handle things on her own? Did she really have a good grasp on her duties? What did she have to do—protect civilians, stop the bad guys? Goals? That was a little sketchier—just stop the bad guys? It probably wasn't that simple. Friend and foe was perhaps the most confusing, as she could name a few Agents of Chaos that she definitely wouldn't mind punching in the face, but of the others? Aurora and Natron—the ones who had seemed more interested in talking than chatting? Were they still, technically, the bad guys? Or just people caught in the fray?

Swallowing her questions and doubts, Aventine just looked up to Tsui and forced a broader smile. "Well," she repeated, "I guess there's only one way to find out."

"I know it might seem difficult. On paper, it's really easy." Tsui could see some hesitation, or at least she thought she did, and if anything, that was enough to sober her up and try to help her out. Tsui was like that once too, new, still learning and willing to learn, but also perhaps too adventurous, too willing to risk life and limb when she could have been playing her game smarter. It would have definitely spared her from the pain and humiliation, but all of it was an opportunity to learn. Hopefully Aventine was a quicker learner than she was... "Chaos bad, Order good. But when it comes to practice... things get weird, complicated."

She shrugged, as she explained. "There's a lot of people on the Chaos side with nobler ideas and practices than us. There's this one Senshi on the DMC that's super polite and eager to please... but then there's others who won't think twice about gutting you. If you ever see a Negaverse general with a spear, avoid them. General Benitoite will try to sweet talk you into joining the Negaverse, whereas General Painite will likely stab you a few times... though she might treat Pages a little differently."

Subconsciously, she rubbed her side, swearing that there were times that she could feel that general's bite. Or perhaps that was her stomach reminding her that it was time to eat soon. She didn't dwell on the situation for long, as assisting the page of Venus was far more important. "As for the Dark Mirror Court... I'd suggest keeping away from them. They have no use for pages and I've seen..." She was hesitant to admit to this, as she didn't want to shoot down any confidence that Aventine might have been building up. But, she couldn't keep it from her, not if it would later save her life. "I've seen them do terrible things to knights. Permanent things. Not ALL of them are evil, or willing to kill, but... it'd just be for the best if you stayed away from them, or at least be weary."

Now her stomach did growl, but Tsui managed to cover it up with a loud clap of her hands, trying to chase away the awkwardness that she might have invited with her little warning. She was certain that Aventine was smart enough to make good choices, but it never hurt to try. "If you haven't talked to him already, I'd suggest seeking out this knight called Camelot, as well as one named Valhalla, from the Jovian court. The two of them are extremely knowledgeable about their duties and would be willing to help you out along the way. You also have me- I may not be a knight, but I'm willing to help you out if you're ever in the situation, whether it be a battle, or even just someone to accompany you on your patrols."

It was time for her to grab some dinner, but she wasn't willing to leave Aventine alone, not until she was certain that she knew what was what. She may have been failing in her mission to help the members of the Dark Mirror court, but she'd be damned if she didn't do her best to help the pages and knights.

There was something suspicious in Tsui's actions, but Aventine couldn't quite put her finger on it. She'd thought she'd heard a growl of some sort and glanced over her shoulder instinctively, as if suspecting another youma.

"Yeaaaaah," she drawled, finally offering a little nod. It was a hell of a lot to take in, even now, but she valued Tsui's words and appreciated that she had taken the time to speak with her. All the talk about Chaos did a fair job of reinstating why she should be careful around them, but she didn't exactly feel better about knowing. 'Chaos bad, Order good' was far easier to process than getting stabbed, gutted or otherwise permanently damaged.

"Yeah," she said again, this time sounding a bit more certain. "Valhalla and Camelot, I'll look them up. Thanks for the tips. I, ah," she paused and then flashed a genuine smile. "I really do appreciate it, Tsui. Thanks for dropping in. Oh—and your landing? Not…really a two. It was pretty good. I'd give it at least a nine."

Sounds good to me, we can definitely tie it up soon!

Tsui was never the modest type, though she did at least try to be, as she scratched at the back of her head and gave her new friend an 'oh you' wave. "Really? Thanks... I haven't taken my lessons seriously ever since coming to Destiny City, but it helps to keep my skills sharp for when I need them. I find they're very useful in combat!"

Saved her life in more than one occasion, but that would only get Tsui into boasting about her many adventures and likely frightening the Page of Venus even more. No, Tsui wanted her to keep up that confidence, help out in any way that she could. "You got some powerful legs yourself, Aventine; don't be shy about using them in a fight if you need to. It gives you more reach and sometimes range can be really useful."

A lesson that Tsui learned personally, but again, a story for another day. She gave Aventine a wave off and made her way back to her usual patrol grounds. She had faith in the young page that she would make it home safely, now that the two of them had taken care of the youma, though she kept her senses on high alert. She hardly found youma that hunted in pairs, but it was also prudent to be alert for Negaverse officers and Dark Mirror Senshi. 'Helping others out is actually kind of fun, and fulfilling! Maybe this is a worthier cause than finding a way to purify the corrupted?'

The meeting had been refreshing, and only slightly overwhelming. Aventine shook her head as the senshi walked off and figured that maybe she'd had enough excitement for one night. Tsui had left her with a lot to think of—and heading home was sounding like a charming idea, anyway.

She wasn't sure if she'd be sore or fine come morning, but at the very least—now that her adrenaline rush had died out, she was a little more tired than she cared to confess.

Coffee was starting to sound like it might be a good thing to stock up on before heading out again, but that was something to worry about another night.

Educated and fulfilled, Aventine had no problem with retreating home for a nice soak—and maybe a nice movie before bed.
