“Well if track’s something you’re interested in, then practice is usually on a Friday after classes.” Arian said quietly. “I know they’re not running the next set of try-outs until the start of next year,” the last set of try-outs had been back when school had first started back up after the Summer break. Summer “But maybe you could come along one Friday and watch what we do – see if it’s something that you think you might be interested in.”

He thought about it “Or if you don’t want to go for the school team, then maybe you could try picking somewhere to jog once a week or so. That is if you want to take up running as a hobby.” Arian didn't want to make any assumptions – after all most times 'thinking about' didn't equate to 'definitely doing'.

Arian nodded “The park’s nice – especially in autumn – although spring’s pretty nice too.” The dark-haired teen found the summer months just a tad too hot at times and having to remember to dig out the sunblock was a pain. “I jog there myself sometimes.”

He fiddled with his braid absently, “It’s about time for me to start heading home” there was homework to work on and his contest entry for the Garden’s Halloween contest to finish. “But it’s been nice talking to you, maybe I’ll see you at one of the track practices some time.”

If not then maybe they'd bump into each other around school some time.

Arian hadn’t minded staying and chatting to Gabe and he told the other as much, before giving a quick wave goodbye to the other, resuming his walk towards the school exit and ultimately back home.

As he walked towards the school exit Arian decided that the first order of what was left of his afternoon would be have to be homework, although if he was lucky he’d managed to get out of the way relatively quickly, after which he’d grab a snack and be free to work on what he really wanted to do which was add the finishing touches to his entry for the Garden’s Halloween contest.

All in all a relatively pleasant end planned for the day.
