Molly was thinking hard, and it showed the way her brows furrowed. After a moment, she conceded. “You’re right, Miss Candace.” She nodded her head seriously. “It is being resourceful.” Her serious expression didn’t stay on long though, especially not with the way Candace’s hands were massaging her scalp.

Oh, you do?” Molly echoed, tilting her head back to look up at Candace. “Would I be able to borrow it sometime? I promise I’ll take good care of it and return it to you quickly and in the same condition I got it!” Molly’s eyes then got big and glossy. “Really!?” She breathed, clasping her hands together as she stared up at Candace. “You would straighten my hair?”

Candace nodded. "Yeah, I had to get it modified so it wouldn't die but it still seems to work fine on my hair." And her hair hadn't exploded, caught fire or turned strange colors so it must have been okay. "You are so cute when you're excited. Sure, I'll straighten it for you. If you've never done it before then it might be easier that way." Suddenly she paused, standing straight to rub her chin and watch Molly with a thoughtful expression.

"But only under oooooone little condition..."

Molly was excited…very excited.

Oh my goodness, Miss Candace, thank you so much!” She cried happily. “I’m so excited!” Obviously. “Oh, anything Miss Candace, you just name it!” She smiled so widely up at the older hunter one thought her face would split in half.

So. Cute. Candace laughed and ruffled Molly's hair before she moved to sit down in her chair again, digging in one of her coat's pockets for a deck of cards. "You're very welcome, darlin'. My request is that when you're in my room, no coats allowed~." She stated cheerfully, shuffling the cards. "But I've still got a couple hours of this watch left, so let's see how we can entertain ourselves until then~."

Oh…that was her request? Okay then!

Not a problem!” Molly replied cheerfully. She had no problems shedding her coat when she was in her room or a friend’s room, after all…especially someone as close as Miss Candace. She watched as the older hunter pulled out a deck of cards, and perked up. Ooh, a children’s card game! This seemed fun!

If you want to fast forward them to getting out of there and going back to the dorms, that's totally fine with me <3 I got nothing else right now XD

The hours passed and Candace and Molly played more card games than Candace even knew existed.

She was pretty sure some of them were completely made up.

Finally Candace checked her phone one last time to check how much longer was left and let out a cheer. "Shift over~! The rest of my day is clear now. Yours?" Candace was already collecting the cards again to put them back in the box, tucking them in her coat pocket before putting her coat back on. She might have been a little excited to get out of the submarine and get Molly to her room for more girl time.

Molly liked made up card games. They were fun and original. Magical card time came to an end though, and Molly looked up as Candace started to get ready to go, and followed suit.

Oh yes, my day is free now too!” She replied, smiling as she stood and then tightened her scarf back down and buttoned up her coat. Her day had been free since her last shift though, so doing duty down here with Candace had been extra. “Should we grab something to eat from the cafeteria as well on our way?” Molly questioned curiously, tapping her finger on her chin.

Candace pouted a little while she watched Molly button up her coat. Damn, another missed chance. Oh well, she'd see her coatless soon enough. She wasn't sure why she was suddenly so obsessed to see it. Curiosity, perhaps? What was Molly covering up? She was a lovely young lady! Sure, a bit thicker than many other women on the island but that was nice! "Sure, if you want. I'm pretty much out of everything I stocked up before the island went on lockdown." Candace groaned. She couldn't wait for a chance to leave the island. Suddenly she perked up and draped an arm around Molly's shoulders, leading her up the stairs and out of the observatory. She immediately headed in the direction of the cafeteria instead of the dorms as Molly had suggested. "Are you going to cook me dinner~?"

Try not to sound too excited to have someone else cook for you, Candace.

Hush, you.

Oh, yes please! Only if it’s no trouble…” She smiled a bit as Candace’s lament about not leaving the island. Yeah…she kind of wanted to be off for a bit too. Just a bit. She wanted to go see some movies and hit up some music stores…simple things, really. Molly was snapped out of her thoughts by Candace’s arm around her shoulders, and she beamed at the older woman as she started to lead the way out.

Oh, sure thing!” Molly piped up happily without skipping a beat. “If you don’t mind some grilled ham and cheese sandwiches with tomato soup!” That was easy to make in the kitchen without getting in the way of other hunters on duty at the time. Fifteen minutes after stopping at the cafeteria, Molly was now carting up to Candace’s room a tray stacked with a few grilled ham and cheese sandwiches along with some containers of hot tomato soup, as well as some juice and coffee. She was humming a bit as she climbed the stairs, following after Candace and keeping an eye on the tray.

How does it feel to be on the second floor now, Miss Candace?”

"Molly I'll eat just about anything as long as it isn't toxic, or can just kill me in some way." Candace announced happily, hovering around the young lady cooking her a delicious lunch like a curious child who wished she could cook too.

Because she wished she could cook too.

Candace was carrying whatever Molly would let her, humming cheerfully until she was asked a question. How did it feel? She fell quiet while she thought about her answer, walking with Molly down the hall until they reached her room. The door opened, left unlocked as always when Candace didn't plan to be gone for more than just out and about for the day. Her promotion had been somewhat bittersweet, really. Promoted despite what Caelius had said to her, how she had lost two Hunters who had been under her care. What had she accomplished that night? It hadn't felt as exciting as she thought it would when she had woken up the next morning and seen the coat hanging from her door. Had she really deserved her promotion? "It's certainly quieter." She finally answered, setting down everything she was carrying and shrugging off her coat again to hang it on the coat rack. "It's different, but sometimes I still forget I'm on an entirely different floor from most of the Hunters I know. It's still a learning experience despite the promotion. A lot of things I need to get used to still...you'll know soon enough, I'm sure. Maybe we can be neighbors!" That could be fun!

After Candace entered her room, Molly followed in behind her. She placed the tray she was carrying down, and followed the older woman’s lead. The trainee slipped off her boots and placed them by the door, and then unraveled her scarf, placing it neatly onto a hanger next to Candace’s. Molly’s coat was next, and she unbuttoned it with ease, before placing it on top of her scarf. Rolling up the sleeves of her green sweater turtle neck, Molly turned back to Candace, nodding her head.

I imagine!” Since a lot of their fellow hunters were still Intermediate and below after all. Molly then laughed softly. “Oh, I don’t know how soon, Miss Candace.” She grinned sheepishly. “I have no idea how far away I am from promotion…but being neighbors would be wonderful! I'd love that so much!"

Candace was happy to see Molly take her coat off, looking the girl up and down with a warm smile. She really was quite pretty. She was thicker than most women she'd seen on the island but she had a lovely figure! Why did she prefer to cover it with such a large coat? She focused on Molly's face when the girl turned to her. No, Molly, she wasn't checking you out just now. Nope. Not at all.

"I didn't know how close I was until Aria told me. I'd like it too, it'd be like living next to a fairytale princess~." Candace chuckled, disappearing into her room a minute before she returned with a glowing device in her hands. "my straightener's here whenever you're ready. Food first?"

Good thing Molly wouldn’t even know she was being checked out even if she had been turned towards Candace.

Molly smiled, and then started a bit in surprise at Candace’s words. “A fairytale princess?” She echoed, her cheeks turning red. “Oh no…that’s not me at all!” She laughed a bit nervously. “If only…” Because fairytale princesses got…happy ever afters, and it wasn’t that Molly wasn’t happy…it’s just…yeah. The young woman stood where she was awkwardly as Candace disappeared, and when she returned with the glowing device she beamed. “Oh wonderful!” She clasped her hands together and then nodded.

Oh yes, let’s eat first!”

"I think you're one." Candace argued cheerfully. No more protesting! You can't change her mind on this! She picked up one of the sandwiches and pat the seat beside her, waiting for Molly to come around and join her. She took her first bite, squealing with delight. So good! Molly was a much better cook than her. "Ohhhh Molly can I just keep you? You're the best!"

A quick way to Candace's heart: Her stomach.

Ahhh, she wasn’t going to argue with Miss Candace, but still, she didn’t think she was one. So instead, Molly settled for just blushing and fretting with the hem of her cable knit sweater and moved over to the older woman when she seemed to be waiting for her. Molly took a seat next to her, grabbing a sandwich of her own and a container of hot tomato soup. She pulled off the lid, and then beamed over at Candace, laughing softly.

Sure thing!” She replied. “But this was nothing special, really~!” Just some grilled cheese sandwiches with ham and soup. That being said, Molly dipped her sandwich in the soup and took a bite.
