Gabe definitely wasn't used to the touchy-feely thing yet. He wasn't averse to it, it was just light-years beyond his usual comfort zone. But he could definitely get to like it.
He gave her a slightly sheepish smile in response to the "are you serious?" look on her face. Yes, it was quite sad, at seventeen Gabe had yet to have a date before this. Vythica was his first girlfriend, or anything even remotely close to such.
"That does not sound like fun," he agreed, letting out a small laugh. She had to be joking, right?
He found that he was actually excited to realize that they were almost to the restaurant. "Look," he pointed to a small front with an awning, "that's it. There's outdoor seating in the backs too," he said, pulling into a parking space on the street. Parallel parking for the win.

"No, it sounds pretty suffocating actually." She really didn't want to think about Gabe being smothered in concrete. Or sleeping with the fishes. Or anything remotely close to him well...dieing.
When he pointed she leaned forward just a bit. Peering out the window with great curiosity. It was a cute little place for sure. She had never been here before so it was a new adventure for her. When he parallel parked though she gave him a grin. "Impressive. If you keep showing off those sweet parking skills like that I might just have to talk to your mom about wedding dresses."

Gabe was also not fond about thinking of himself dying, so he sort of let the subject drop. He would cross the bridge of Vythica's clearly terrifying father when he came to it. Obviously that was the way to deal with this.
"Really? It's my parking skills that win you over?" Gabe joked, unbuckling his seatbelt and stepping out of the car, then walking around to open her door for her. It was what a gentleman did for a lady, and Vythica was clearly a lady. He was going to do his best to treat her as such.

"Oh yea totally." That and the cute way he fumbled about and blushed half the time he was in her presence. And that a**, which she intently watched as he rounded the car.
Unbuckling her seat belt, she grabbed her purse and stepped out of the car once her door was open. Taking in a deep breath. The air had gotten a bit chillier now, good thing she'd brought a jacket. "Of course you know that old saying, if you like it then you better put a ring on it." Laughing, she tossed her hair back over her shoulder as she stepped out from the door so that he could close it. Waiting until he was ready to head inside.

"Well then, I am glad I practiced that," he said, his tone still teasing. He was starting to accept that this was happening and forcing himself to be more comfortable with it.
Gabe was glad for his long-sleeved shirt, even if it only provided a modicum of protection from the cold. He offered her his arm, feeling far more suave than he usually did. He was going to a fancy restaurant (on his parent's dime, but whatever) and he had a gorgeous Crystal girl as his date. He was pretty sure he had a right to feel pretty good about himself. "Well, let's go, we have a reservation." Yup, he'd taken the time to reserve a table. This was going to go well, damn it.

Vyth laughed as she slipped her arm around his, letting him lead her into the restaurant. "Ohhhh fancy. Reservation and everything. You treat me too good, Gabe. Better be careful or you'll never get rid of me. Spoiling me like this." She laughed again, though this time she covered her mouth just a bit with her free hand, leaning her head lightly against his shoulder.
When they were inside, pale blue eyes glanced about. It really was a pretty nice place for it's size. A little busy but that was to be expected at this time of night. And if their food was as good as Gabe claimed.

Gabe might never have done this before, but he had been exposed to enough popular culture to have an idea of what to do. "I dunno, not being able to get rid of you doesn't sound all bad," he said. Really, it sounded pretty awesome.
Once they entered, he walked up to the hostess and smiled politely. "Blake, party of 2, six-thirty reservation," he said. The hostess checked on her computer and smiled.
"Your table will be right this way!" She chirped, leading them to a nice one right by the window. It had a view of the street, which was interesting enough considering the restaurant's location. She placed menus on the table. "Your server will be by in just a minute to get your drink and appetizer orders!" She said, and then she bounced off.
Gabe flipped open the menu, considering. "Do you want appetizers?" He asked. "Their garlic bread is pretty amazing."

Good boy. That was exactly the answer she wanted to hear. For one not too experienced with relationships he was pretty good at telling her what she wanted. It was a good thing for sure. "Well good then. Cause I doubt I'll be going anywhere anytime soon."
She didn't release his arm until they had reached their table. Settling her purse next to her and removing her jacket. Not really wanting to accidentally get any food on it. The hostess seemed rather bouncy. But when you worked with people, especially in a restaraunt you had to be.
Looking the menu over, she flipped the pages slowly. Glancing up at Gabe when he asked her about appetizers. "Garlic bread would be good. I haven't had any in a while. And if it's amazing then I shall be the one to put it to the test."

"Garlic bread it is, then," he agreed, nodding cheerily. He considered the menu for his entree, but before he could decide for certain a fairly upbeat-looking waitress appeared.
"Hey! Can I get you two anything to drink? Some appetizers?" She asked.
"Just water," Gabe replied, "and an order of garlic bread. Vyth?" He waited for her to give her order, still feeling fairly good about himself. He managed to miss entirely that the waitress was sizing him up. It probably would have broken his brain.

"Water for me as well." Oh no. The waitress giving Gabe that look hadn't escaped Vyth. Nearly burning a hole through the girl before she blinked and turned her attention back to Gabe with a smile.
Lacing her fingers together, she rested her elbows on the table and her chin in her heads. Turning her head just slightly. "So, surely you've got some questions for me...about me."

Gabe considered. What did he want to know about her? The short answer, of course, was "everything." Hmm, she'd already told him some about her family, but...
"Have you lived inn Destiny City your whole life, or did you move here?" He asked. Of course, what he really, really, really wanted to ask her was "are you a Senshi," but he was pretty sure they had Fight Club rules, too.

Smiling she shook her head. "No. My family didn't always live in America either. Many many years back my family came to America from Russia, if you could not guess. Our original family name was Dreadoskivoz, weird name I know but that's Russian names for you. Eventually of course it was changed to van Dread. Fast forward a bit..." She waved a hand in a loose circle. "When my father was still in Russia he had met my mother. They got married and he was still getting into business and such. Quickly moving up in the world he decided to move himself and my mother to America. Specifically New York for a few years then they moved here to Destiny City. When my mother passed away he brought my Great Grandmother and my Grandfather over from Russia to live here in the house and to help take care of me while he worked. I was born in New York but I was about two when we moved here."
The first few years of her life had been hectic. Though she barely remembered most of it anyway because she was so young.

Gabe nodded, listening closely as she told him about her early life. "Wow, that's amazing," he said. The idea of family who had come all the way to Destiny City from Russia to help raise her...that was pretty remarkable, in his mind. He leaned forward, curious. "Do you...like Destiny City?" He asked. It was a simple question, but a little loaded. It was easy to not like the place.

Leaning forward herself, she frowned. "Well....." Vyth put a finger to the corner of her lips as she looked thoughtful. The silence would be deafening if it weren't for everyone else around them making nose.
After a bit, she grinned. Kissing him on the tip of his nose. "Of course I do. There isn't anything that I don't like about Destiny City. Besides, its got you and that makes it even more awesome than it already was. Though I suppose it could do with less terrorists." Raising an eyebrow, her eyes lidded half way. "Do you like the City?"

As he waited for her to answer, Gabe wondered if he had stepped on a potential landmine. Opinions could get pretty strong aobut DC, he supposed.
And then she kissed him on the nose, and a blush spread from there back. "I, er, huh." He had never really expected to be place don a list of reasons to like a place, but hey, certainly not something to complain about. "Do I..." He really only thought for a moment. "Definitely. It's got you, plus, you know, massive concentration of all kinds of weird s**t and aliens. Terrorists included." Yeah, Vyth rated higher than aliens now. Pretty amazing.
