The new guard that approached Maxxie caught him by surprise, especially the big cat. Cat's scared him. "Ah... yes. I am here to deliver a message to Lady Liliana, but not from Lord Aqua. The city is under new management. I was sent by Lady Alyssa. She and the Lord seek help from Ernya."

Maxxie nodded, gratefully, as he sped past the guard with the cat. The further was away from the cat, the better. When he arrived at the building the guard told him to go into, he once again asked the guards where he could find Evvie, the assistant to the Lady.

Clearly, for security puposes, Maxxie would have to reidentify himself. "I am the royal courier of Indelca. The new Lady of the land told me to come and deliver a message to the Lady Liliana, but I was told she was gone for the meanwhile and that Adviser Evvie would help me learn of her location."

"Yes, of course. I understand." Maxxie turned and left until he would be called.

Evvie

Evvie nodded with a sly smile, tucking the wand behind her ear. From the books she had in her hands, she sets them both on the table. One is the one the young boy Chaz had brought, the other looks vastly older. "This book was found in an expedition by some of our resident arcane casters who are with the Mage's Guild. They said the things they found surrounding the book were out of place with it. They believe if the writings can be translated, it will lead to unfathomable wealth. Lady Liliana took the book, being the Prime Arch-Mage, and has told me it is not money we will find at the end of the journey. But she doesn't have the time to translate the book herself. She told me she would send me once-lord Krayth to translate the book." She opened the cover to show something that was already translated:

"You hold the key to your own success."

followed by an odd string of letters and symbols:

"This is what we were able to translate for now," Evvie explained. "Beyond this, we have nothing but the writing within." She flipped to the first page to show what it looked like:

Pulling the second book forward, Evvie said, "This book is an old translator from after the Gods' War. We hope it will contain the key this line speaks of. What we need is a little success in our search. It's been eight days now since we started work on this." Evvie left the books open. "I need to attend to some other business. You are free to use the room as long as you need but please don't leave with the books. We are able to track them down if they vanish." With a smile and a nod, Evvie walked upstairs to be stopped by a guard letting her know someone was here to see her in Liliana's stead. Sighing, she knew her day must only be beginning.

Evvie looked confused. "What's Denys?" she asked. "If you're looking for Ernyian aide, one of your leaders will have to petition personally. We have a procedure to follow for all new leaders who seek aide from our nation. I hope you know who our Lady is?"
