Athari nodded and helped Tide get Kainda to the shore. It was then that Taw came over and helped them balance the mare even further. The amazon looked over to see how Ed could be so calm at a time like this. It was probably one of the many reasons why he could be a leader to his people. "Perfect." Athari gave a grin and then a nod toward the Duke.

Once the mare was moved into place, putting the bandages wasn't hard to do. Athari took more care around the mare's midsection than she did with anywhere else. It was after they let her down to rest on the grasses that she pulled Ed and Taw away allowing the mates to have a moment to themselves. She then turned to him answering his question, forgetting about the cold of the night around her damp body. "Let them be, Duke Edward. Right now she needs her mate and space from us." Athari's eyes asked him to trust her before she continued. "They should wear off by now. I gave her a large dose but I really shouldn't have..." Athari trailed off and her voice became barely audible, mouthing the words so that only Ed could tell. "She's pregnant." She let it sink in a moment holding up a hand to keep him quiet. "I don't even think she knows yet. If she does, she's been hiding it well for a while. She isn't very far along...or if she is, she has a large brood." The girl quirked her mouth crossing her arms over herself making an X like symbol over her chest, her elbows pointed downward. Her eyes went back toward Kainda with a worried glance then back toward Edward. "I will stay here and continue to administer treatment and change her bandages as well as keep tabs on her pregnancy, so if you need to go back then you don't need to worry about anything." Athari offered a kind smile knowing the Duke probably had much to do.

Kainda gave a bit of a yawn as she started to come to after a while. She groaned a little stretching as much of her body as she could. Parts of her felt extremely sore, but she could feel the healing balm her belly working. The mare's gaze was empty as she remembered almost everything clearly of her attack. How could she have been so stupid? To go out alone..and not tell Tide about... She sighed feeling the movements within her belly. They were extremely small, but they were there. She was surprised that her middle wasn't showing yet. Unless Tide already knew and didn't say anything, but half the time the stallion was so oblivious and busy, she doubted he could sense anything...The mare gave a sigh. She didn't feel very...well..herself. Reth...her half-brother...she would see him again. She knew that. All the mare could do was cuddle against her mate silently closing her eyes and willing her body to rest.

Stryker circled above the little campfire, watching the bustling group. He had been following soon after Reth got done with his little attack keeping high in the air. The stallion had trained himself with harsh conditions and was considered unparalleled in flight. His nostrils flared a little, his gold eyes studying them and memorizing the location. Earlier he had noticed the white one with red hair greet what looked like one of the children of Kainda and the spotted cow looking one. The mare was pretty, but by the looks of how the white one lead her, she was blind. Stryker gave note to that as well. He wondered if that was the only child Kainda birthed. Once satisfied, the stallion gave one final turn before turning back toward home base. Reth would be pleased to know of all the news.

Tide curled himself around his mate, trying not to hurt her but also trying to crawl into her skin. She was his to protect and damned if anyone would get through to hurt her now he was here. Mine.

Edwards eyes widened but he said nothing about the pregnancy. Concern showed in his eyes that the little foals might have been hurt by that godawful pummeling. He hoped to azreth that the babies would not be aborted, he hoped they would be whole and healthy, hale as their father and mother before her attack. "Thank you Athari, I would take her to the barn but i would be missing most of my hair and fingers after. Its best she stays here with that black and white bruiser to hover over her every whim."

Athari looked over her shoulder at the mated pair and chuckled. "That bruiser seems to be what's keeping her sane right now. Most humans don't even find a love like that. I'm a bit envious." She gave a wide smile then turned back to the Duke. "I promise you, no harm shall come to them as long as I and my other half are around." Athari gave a wave as she then proceeded to make camp near to the river. Eventually, the white mare came back alerting Athari that the children were informed of their mother's attack. Soon enough, both came to see her if only for a moment before turning her away and allowing her to rest. The siblings would have a common enemy it seemed.

[TIME SKIP]

Kainda had healed nicely thanks to Athari's and the Duke's help. By this time, she had birthed her large load of foals - five. Ther were three girls and two boys, all healthy and whole, thank the fates. The attack on her body scared both parents as she eventually told Dark Tide when it was too obvious to hide the fact that she was pregnant. Her oblivious mate, however, simply thought she had eaten more due to the depressed of being attacked - the dung face! She sighed as she was being confined to herd lands - Dark Tide's orders. Her mate took her safety seriously and refused to let her out of sight. Somewhere there was at least three pair of eyes and a set of ears on her whereabouts. She turned to see her daughter coming toward her. These days, Tempest took her training so seriously that she forgot her daughter was blind.

Ever since the attack on her mother, Dark Tempest had taken to her sense training ten fold. She wanted to be able to protect her and with the help of her father, brother, and Ka, she would be able to. Now, Tempest was able to walk without assistance for a good bit of the lands and even if she was somewhere new, she used her sense of smell and hearing to help her. She often reached out farther with her hooves giving her an unusual gangly gait, but it was something that she grew used to. As she came forward, she stopped short of her mother, but reached out and nuzzled her. "Mum, ya need to be careful..." A bit of Ka Valko slipped out as she spoke. Another effect of her training was that the two became closer - something the others couldn't even predict. "What if whoever attacked you came back? Are you sure you still don't remember?" Her face furrowed with concern as she then nudged the mare's face with a tenderness only known of a daughter.

Kainda rolled her eyes and gave a snort. She still lied to her family about knowing who attacked her. It wasn't the time yet. After the foals were born, she was ready to handle Reth. Kainda had doubled her training as soon as she was able - even when she was pregnant with her babies - and now was even more skilled. Her memory of the attack helped her shape more of a defense. Often times, she attempted to sneak away multiple times since then, but alas there were no chances. She was about to speak when she heard wing beats..

He looked down from above the skies watching the scene below. With Stryker's unparalleled tracking skills, he had found her home with her family. The mare had foaled again it seemed. Too bad they would grow up without a mother! And with Stryker's information, it seemed as though her other two whelps were none the better. One was a klutz and the other couldn't see! Unfortunately the blind nag was with her mother. Too bad no one else would see her die. Reth wasted no time flying down and slamming his frame into the two mares. All three bodies went down in a flurry of hooves and teeth as there were sounds that would obviously alarm the herd. Yes. Reth watched to them to watch her demise as she was pinned down. Unfortunately, the retarded zebra managed to slip from the pile, but not from the clutches of Stryker who held her captive with his brute force. He had knocked the blind mare down - with a bit of a fight surprisingly - and held her down with his hooves. Enough to bruise, but not break anything. Stryker was becoming soft...he would have to have another talk with his manservant yet again..."Yes, wench. Call for them! Call for your mate and idiot son. They will watch you die this day!" He hissed in her ear keeping her pinned more roughly as his horn slashed across her back and belly. Kainda kept her mouth closed, but Dark Tempest was the one sounding the call for help. They would be here soon as he angled his horn dangerously close to Kainda's neck keeping her own head away with one of his hooves as his read eyes looked up to meet the gazes of her herd.

Tide was busy brooding over his children. Five, his mate had carried five perfect little babies. He nosed over the blankets. A blue and white, cream and black, blue and gold, black and white and gold and white. So unbelievably precious, that they usually had one or two babysitters at all times. Pride shone through his eyes. They were spoiled yes but damned if he would change that when they could have such a large herd to look over them. He could see their mothers strong blood in all of them. The spunky mare had carried them all to term and the vixen hadn't told Tide until he felt one of the little ones kick him during the night. Just like K not to tell him anything until she had to. Tide hummed and brushed his nose over the blankets again. The younglings were probably getting sick of this by now. But he for one enjoyed it very much. Adonis came up for his watch with a big grin on his face. Tide squinted at him, nephew must have found a girl. Tide smiled, it was about time for ol' Rainbow Butt. Tide stayed for a bit longer just resting by his children. Suddenly Tempest's full throated alarm calls filled the herd lands. Tide told Adonis to stay as he raced off in the direction of the call. Not his family darn it, not his daughter, not his mate!

Ka had just returned from a meeting with Cece. The knowledge of fatherhood warming his veins. When a screeched war cry alarm turned his blood cold. Tempest was calling for aid and Ka would come. His hooves dug into the ground as he surged forward, deep divits showing where lush grass had once grown. Ge flew across the landscape and saw the attackers over his charge and her mother. He didn't say a thing, just rammed his body into the green and black one, hitting the other stallion like a large purple train.

Kai and Alkion saw Tide race past them, then they made sense of the sound. Kai was here so Tempest was not scuffling with him for once, that meant an outsider. They headed in that direction too. Most of Kai's clumsyness tended to melt away during battle and he had spent a few mornings training with his mother. He had a horn too and could come at an opponent in ways that his father couldn't. He was ready for a fight. Alkion knew he was going to be backup muscle in this case.

The attack was so sudden that Stryker didn't have enough time to react. He grunted as the brute slammed into him with the force of a thousand hammers. Stryker gave a grunt and cough as he attempted to settle himself, but the stallion seemed to overpower him with a madness. Was the filly he messed with this one's mate? Probably not for the mare smelled unadulterated but it seemed as though he could have been a suitor. Stryker snapped his wings open and flapped to gain some ground at the purple freight train.

Fast hoofbeats heading in her direction. The mare instinctively closed her eyes as she felt the wind rush toward her. "Ka Valko!" She screamed at the top of her lungs just as said stallion slammed into her attacker. Tempest scrambled hoping not to get smacked in the process. Part of her body grazed against Ka's as he slammed his body against the brute's. Everything happened so fast that Tempest's senses could barely keep up. She stumbled a little as she heard the footsteps coming toward them. "Father!" The mare whinnied. "Kai!" His footsteps weren't too far behind as well as another set. Tempest, however, was too worried about her mother's sake. At this moment in her life, she was actually glad she was blind. But that didn't stop the tears from flowing. She suddenly heard a frantic cry from the fight and turned in the direction. "Ka!" She cried not even hearing the words come out of her mouth as she ran toward the tussle just as Stryker seemed to get the upper hand. The only way that Tempest knew was because of his smell: the brute didn't smell like Ka...but Ka didn't even smell like Ka. His smell mingled with other scents. That's when Tempest knew, but never mind that now as she was entangled with Stryker at the moment. The winged stallion seemed to have trouble with the blind nag as they tussled allowing the foreign male to rest from his brutal run.

Reth said nothing as Stryker was taken down easily. Pitiful. His manservant was proving to be irritating. The stallion gave a snort as he glared over to the mate: the spotted cow. His nostrils flared as the son soon came running over the hill with a family member. The duo looked even worse, especially the retarded giraffe. What was it with the pedigree that her sister chose to bore? Reth could only shudder at the thought of the brood she was pregnant with. His teeth began to grind as he gave a loud whinny. "Another step and I slit her throat." He warned pressing his horn closer to Kainda's throat causing her to cough. It was then that she called to Tide not even asking of her safety but for that of her daughter, her son, and the foals still in their blankets. This infuriated Reth even more. Why wasn't this...this blight on his family begging for her life!? In anger, Reth slammed a hoof on her back leg making her whinny with pain. A sadistic smile crept across his face, wings spread to keep balance. "Cry, my sister! Cry as your family watches you die!" Reth cackled snorting all the while. He then noticed the confused look on the stallion's face. "You didn't tell them, my darling sister? That I am your half brother who has come so that you may pay your retributions?!" Reth snarled slamming his hoof against her leg again. There was a sickening crunch followed by a wail, tears streaming down the mare's cheek. It was obvious that she shouted an obscenity toward the stallion, something along the lines of 'Eat s**t and die you coward' which just made Reth cut along her throat by digging the tip of his horn in more. She hissed opening her eyes to see her mate. So much emotion flooded in hers that she didn't even need to speak as the words 'I love you, Dark Tide' seemed to reverberate within them as well as other things. Reth smiled. This was going to be perfect.

Tide reared and screamed at the donkey who stood over his lifemate. He could go no further or the stallion would kill her, course from the look in his eye he meant to do that anyway. Tide couldn't see straight. All he saw was red, red like his mates eyes. The thought struck him she could tell him what to do, knowing her she was going to rip tripey a new one any minute. "I believe in you Kainda." he mind spoke to her. Then the b*****d who was apparently her brother cut her. Tide got closer.

A ways back Kai's footprints had left the ground as he drove high into the air. At the top of his climb he began to fall with the sun at his back so as not to be seen, from here he could be more effected once that horn was away from his mother.

Ka gasped for air then got right back in the tussle with Stryker. "You fiend how dare you, Im going to chew on your insect riddled BONES when this is done, dont you touch her!" Ka knew for a fact that Tempest was indeed touching him not the other way around but what did it mater he was still gonna beat that green and black harpy into a pulp.

Stryker grunted flapping his wings quickly in order to get the mare away from him. It was then that he noted the dust trick wasn't on her; mare was blind! How could he have forgotten that? With a grunt, Stryker managed to shove her off roughly only to have the purple train slam into him again. What was this? Reth said this job would be easy! He gave a snarl slamming his body with as much weight behind it as possible into Ka as Tempest panted laying on the ground. She had given him time, the saucy minx! The stallion flapping his wings faster and faster attempting to get airborne.

Reth gave a start lifting his head a few inches watching Stryker struggle against the two. What was this?! Why was he failing his master?! Reth roared out angry obscenities at Stryker when suddenly he felt a raw pain in his right chest. His wings snapped open out of instinct looking down into the matching red eyes of his sister. He saw the brutality and the blood lust in them and for once he felt fear. Reth had allowed his guard to go down and he was paying the price for it. He snorted roughly pulling himself away causing her horn to slide painfully from his body. Reth staggered backwards for a moment gasping and panting in pain. "You...how did..." Reth coughed feeling one of his legs burning. Had she nicked it?! "You...savage! Animal! You're a joke, Kainda. How could you stand up against me?"

The mare had seen her opening when Reth raised his head. It seemed as though Stryker was doing it on purpose...but why? No matter as she turned her head and managed to drive her horn deep into the b*****d's chest. The flesh wrapped around the bone as if it belonged there and when their eyes met, Kainda knew that he hadn't expected her to rise up even in her weakened state. A snarl formed in her throat as she wiggled and shook her head roughly attempting to cause more damage. As they separated, she managed to rise to her feet, some of his blood having spilled onto her and the ground. The mare panted, and yet her red eyes burned. "It is not only that I stands against you, Reth, son of whatever the hell it was. But you stand against me, my mate, and those that stand with us." She gave a smirk not even needing to turn around to sense the oncoming motion from behind or the rush of wind at her side or the black and white blur launching itself forward toward Reth.

Tide was a bull when he was angry. Even without a horn, he was a formidable and unstoppable fighter. She almost felt sorry for her little brother.
