Dakota just barely registered what was going on as Otto rushed in when they were attacked by a grey figure...of a girl? He could tell it was...and one he recognized.
"It's the mermaid babe..." was all the hunter got out as he set himself up for defense.
"Eva, I've got Otto covered if you wanna attack..." And while he was defending, he would knock some sense into the death hunter. "Otto! OTTO! ******** listen to yourself. Your reverting back. Brother I know you went through something horrific, I know it was traumitizing but we pulled you back."
Dakota looked at Otto, "WE PULLED YOU BACK. Your not there, your back. Were in some haunted house battling some ******** up fog. your not with the horsemen. Your not with them..."
PLEASE OTTO LISTEN TO WHAT DAKOTA WAS SAYING.

Whoever the new guy was, Wilson still didn’t know his name. Maybe it was an awkward time for an introduction, but when one never knew when one would die, timing was sometimes lost on Wilson. However, his remark was uncalled. “You’re new, aren’t you?” he asked Jake. “After a few months I think you’ll start to understand.” He shifted as his expression suddenly turned weary as old memories were dredged up against his will.
The more Otto spoke, the more Wilson began to understand the situation the younger death hunter was in. “Otto, that’s over. You’re not in the cell anymore. You’re on another mission to observe Insanity,” he attempted to reason.
Muscles stiffened as he heard noise, a song that didn’t come from any of them. He snapped his head toward the direction of the source while he summoned his weapon. “Who’s there?” Wilson glanced at Dakota as he murmured something. “You know her?” He turned back toward Amphi and scrutinized. She seemed familiar. Was this a student?
“Alright guys. WATCH OUT!” he yelled before he jumped and aimed his canons at the mermaid before he unleashed a cloud of green that mixed with the fog.

Eva's sweet voice only made him feel sadder, more hopeless. It was a trick of the Trance. Using what was important to him to tease him. Dangling what he wanted knowing he couldn't reach. Jake was probably right. A knock over the head would be merciful, wouldn't it? No more games. Just black bliss. A pinch to his arm meant nothing. The Trances had all hurt like Hell, too. Pain meant nothing. Nothing was real.
A creature attacked, taking Eva and the unknown hunter from him. He was left with Dakota. Icy, deadened eyes looked up as Dakota urged him out of his paranoia. The older boy's loud insistance was met with silence for a while. It could be the real Dakota. It mimicked him so well. Trying so hard to keep him believing that this was all real. That they had been there, pulled him out. Otto wanted so badly to believe in him. Allow himself to think the Trance was reality. Maybe he wouldn't feel so hopeless if he did.
Insanity was the cause, right? He'd been sane not too long ago. Surely it was just the fog playing horrid tricks. Maybe this was real. But what if it wasn't? He didn't want to be alone in that cell anymore, in a loop of dead ends and trances.
Otto's eyes felt like they were burning again. He grimaced deeply, eyes looking passed Dakota to see the strange female monster attacking the others. He felt conflicted. He could stand there and let the monster kill them all. Then maybe he could be free. It was sad, funny. These creatures called for home, and that was just what Otto had pleaded for when he'd been losing his hope back then. Even though he'd left that place forever to become a hunter, even though he'd hated his life there, somehow that calm redundant life beckoned cruelly, knowing he could never go back.
So it was just the fog. The cruel game the fog played on his heart, just like the Horsemen Witch had done.
Otto choked back a sob, his eyes welling up with hot tears. "Sunnuva ******** b***h..." He uttered in a quivering voice.
The short hunter quickly summoned Tenya as he urged Dakota to stand back, whirling the giant boomerang over his head several times before throwing it at the Fog Monster.

While Otto spoke, he had feeling of what trance-state he was talking about, but he hadn't felt harmed when Melvin was in a trance. Just confused and distracted. Despite knowing, everyone else was crowding about Otto and reassuring him, taking any responsibility to place sanity nursemaid away and letting him be free to look around elsewhere.
Despite wearing several layers, he rubbed his shoulders and sighed to see if he could see his breath. It was bitterly cold here, and he hadn't seen snow outside. The place was eerie, unsettling, and the fog turned and moved about, playing with his eyes. It made everything seem not really there, like a hazy dream, and he touched the wall to make sure it was real against his fingers.
It was then that the singing started, and he stepped back when he heard it. No hunger would randomly strike a tune like that, and out of the mist came a strange, human-like shape. Twisting and turning in rolling mist, it lashed out. Jumping back, he pointed his gun and fired. Luckily, whatever chat they had with Otto caused the boy to get up and fight. To note, a massive boomerang in a hallway took a lot of space, and Melvin jumped up against the wall to get out of it's way. "Watch it!"

Upon hearing the sound of footsteps and the song, Eva immediately straightened up and went on guard...but the attack was so sudden and out of nowhere that she hadn't even had a chance to block or retaliate, stumbling backwards and into Dakota. Shoot! Who in the world...?
Mermaid babe? The girl's blue eyes flickered briefly to Dakota, and then back to the figure, her brows knit together. So she was...one of the students, then? Or rather, she was one of the students. From the zombie-like way that she was acting, Eva wasn't so certain that the girl was in her right mind anymore. Fingers tightening around Chara, she breathed a quiet, "Take care of Puppy," before lunging out and swinging the staff down on the figure.
Her attack managed to graze the creature before she jumped back at Wilson's warning, instinctively lifting the sleeve of her coat over her mouth and nose as the green gas was released. Waiting until it cleared, she took a deep breath.
"Don't let your guard down--there might be more of them lurking in this fog!"

Dakota sighed in relief as Otto snapped out of it and attacked again. In that moment he wanted to hug the little b*****d tight and never let him go. Just reassure Otto that he was alive and well and this wasn't a trance.
Whoever told them different would have to deal with a pissed off Moon hunter.
"Okay Otto, I'm here and I got you defended...Imma move to Melvin next..." Dakota deflected the blow from the Mermaid fog before moving to Melvin and doing it as well.
"Melvin...I got you bro!"

Wilson grimaced at Eva’s words. “That’s exactly what I wanted to hear,” he muttered before he stepped back to avoid the Insanity-stricken student. Eyes widened as instead the mermaid went for Otto and Melvin. He cursed and immediately dove back into the fray. Frantically, the hunter swung his canons at Amphi in order to drive her away from the other two hunters. “Get away from them!”
He tried to look back at Dakota and the others. “How’re you holding up?”

HP: 20 (defended for 10 from last attack) Damage: 13 Charge: 2/3Otto still wasn't feeling any better. Sure, he was a little more convinced he was alive and not delusional, but those once hidden memories were once again raw. And he was taking it out on sushi. Defended from a nasty attack thanks to Dakota, Otto charged forward again and beat down on the mermaid several times with the edge of his boomerang. The halls were much too narrow for another round of frisbee. Nyxtsuki Moon oops i posted out of turn SORRY, ITS 5AM AND IM ALL LOOPY

Alright, enough was enough. Despite the insanity creature's somewhat--dare she say it--delicate looking appearance, the girl had to admit that it hit hard. Gripping Chara tightly, Eva waited until the creature got close to her, wincing at the attack but using its close proximity her chance to attack, the blade glinting as it was swung down.
Sighing, Eva lowered her weapon, letting it disappear as she glanced down at her arm. She was sporting a cut--and it stung like hell--but it clearly wasn't serious. Whirling around, she propped her fists up on her hips, gaze sweeping over the others. "Everyone's okay? ...Puppy?"
Her gaze paused when it fell on the blond, lips tugging downwards in a small frown. He seemed to have--kind of, anyways--snapped out of what had been bothering him earlier...but was he really alright?

Melvin was hit hard, and he felt his chest compress as he gave a hard gasp at the straight blast against his fear shield.
Wow! She's got spunk!
I feel like I was punched in the throat.
He knelt a moment before breathing deep and aiming, watching as Dakota moved over to Otto and him to defend. Lining up his sight, he then fired. "Is this something made from Insanity?"

Luckily, he had managed to block a decent amount of the damage, but it was still enough to make him stumble.
"s**t!"
The strain of the attack caused the wound on his torso to reopen, and he put a hand to it, trying to stop it from bleeding. How could he of been so careless?
He hadn't heard Wilson, or may of, but hadn't been paying attention. FIGHTING FOR LIFE, OK? Who care if he was new? He understood the requirements and sacrifices. This wasn't supposed to be a cake-walk. Of COURSE they'd go through tons of crap. It was whether or not you could take what was dished out at yout. And Jake could do that. Totally.
Or well, he thought at the time. The poor boy had no idea what he was getting himself into.
He grit his teeth and lunged at the creature, swiping at it, too distracted to know it was very much ded now until it seemed to dissipate.

[Kiddo, watch out!] But the warning was too late. Wilson hissed as he felt the force of the attack and stumbled backwards. Eventually, he lost his balance and he fell onto the ground, his canons clattering loudly against the floor. [Very graceful.] Hush. As he hobbled back to his feet, the hunter watched the rest of the group finish off the mermaid.
“I’m doing alright,” he confirmed. “What about everyone else?” Mask still on, he scrutinized the others.

The mermaid was gone. Otto hesitated before he de-summoned his weapon into its un-summoned form. Those insecurities from the insanity were still there, but his outlandish delusions had ebbed for now. The boy pulled up his sleeve to wipe his eyes and face. His earlier tantrum had made him look a disaster. "M'fine.." Otto mumbled unhappily. He'd left his group behind back there. He began to wonder if they'd be okay. Probably. Maybe? He'd not been the only one freaking out, he'd just been the only, or first, one to run. So was this a test of his true character? In dire times, he would simply run away? Otto felt disgusted with himself at the thought. His fears were more powerful than his will. He didn't even know where they were now. He'd run s blindly, he wasn't sure what direction he'd come from, or how long he'd left. So what was he supposed to do now? The teen shoved his hands into his pockets, sniffling stubbornly and keeping his gaze cast downward.
