The small pup hummed before taking a deep breath in through his nose before actually taking in a breath to catch the scent. "Yeah," he said and tried to place the scent, "I don't know what it is though."

"Let's go find out." Anemy grinned, happy that it wasn't her mind playing tricks on her. Since it wasn't curiousity was getting the best of her and she was more or less excited about what they might happen to find. Even if it was just a bird, it was a funny smelling bird, making it extra special and more interesting then other birds. This made Anemy's tail wag as she ran, stopped, and looked around before continuing to run through the forest again.

Ahote gave a small, happy yip as he followed after his sister into the forest. The last time he had followed her on an exploration, they had found a space rock! He couldn't wait to see what they found this time and to find out what the strange scent they had smelled belonged to. His tiny tail wagged as he did his best to keep up with Anemy.

She frantically spun her head around to find out where the scent led. She could tell she was close now, and desperately wanted to find where the trail ended. "Do you see anything?" She asked Ahote, perhapes it was a bird after all, and it was just sitting in the trees. She hoped not, or else they'd have to somehow scare it out of the tree, or climb up the tree. And trees where tall! That'd be scary!

Ahote followed the scent and looked around to try to figure out where it led. He was sure it was around where they were but he didn't know where.
"Not yet," he replied and went over to sniff at a tree. He could smell the strange scent coming strong from the roots that were sticking up out of the ground. "Hey, come here!" he called to her. He wondered where exactly the thing had gone.

Anemy ran over quickly. "Is it a plant?" The pup asked. If it wasn't a bird, maybe it was a funny smelling plant. Though then Anemy wouldn't eat it. Yuck. She could already think of the horrible tasting sensations that came from a funny smelling plant. If it was a plant, she'd have Ahote taste-test it first. Just to be sure it didn't taste bad.

"I don't know," he replied and decided to try digging his claws into the bark to attempt to climb a little ways up the tree to see if the scent was up there too. He made it a foot or two up before sniffing at the bark. He wrinkled his nose and jumped back down, trying to make sure to land on his paws near his sister. "Whatever it is, it's down here," he motioned to the spot he had found before attempting to climb the tree.

Since Ahote was climbing the tree, Anemy wanted to help him. So she pushed up against his feet in hopes he'd step on her back so that she could boost him up. "It might be a gem or something too." She said, making light conversation.

Ahote ignored her as she tried to get him to go back up the tree.
"It might be!" he replied and started digging down where he thought the scent was the strongest. He couldn't imagine finding anything better than the rock they had found the last time, but if it was a gem? Wow!

Anemy's tail wagged. Oh, she was so exicted. What could it be? The thoughts of all the possiblites were endless. "Hurry up, dig it out already!" Her tail wagged more and more. She was dying to know what the scent belonged to by this point.

The small pup groaned as he tried to dig as fast as his little paws would allow him. "This would go a lot faster if you helped, ya know," he groaned and kept digging, the scent getting stronger.

Anemy felt like rolling her eyes, but instead just went over and helped her brother out. Ah, now they'd get to glance at all the glory of whatever the scent was. Such excitment! The little pup could barely contain her exictment much longer, at least helping digging would mean they'd be able to see the thing the scent belonged to faster!

Ahote spotted for a moment to catch his breath when Anemy came over to help him out. He had thought the rock had been hard to get back! Once he caught his breath, he went back to digging. After a couple paw fulls of dirt, he hit something.
"Can you see what that is?"

Yeah, I think so! She moved the dirt around a little more to get a better look. "It's... Green! Like really green!" She stared at the green object. What was it? Anemy had never seen anything like it before.

When she mentioned that whatever they found was green, the first thing that came to Ahote's mind was that all their digging had led them to more grass. But then he questioned why would grass be growing underground?
"Can you get it out? What is it?" he asked excitedly.
