Oh, damn it, this was so hard when he couldn't just tell her he was a Negaverse agent and admit that he really did know the Senshi's exact motives. Or, well, knew in a general sense.
Oh dear god she was invading his personal space and suddenly he really really wanted to just tell her what she wanted to know. Good god what was it with all these women throwing themselves into his lap lately. Had he acquired some sort of...oozing sex appeal simply by becoming a Negaverser, one that leaked into his civilian life?
That wasn't such a terrible thought, now was it. But really, he had to keep his head.
"I'd love to tell you, really I would, but I can't," he said. Already his mind was pulling together just what Painite might do if she found out he'd spilled for a date.
And damn it, she was playing with his hair too. Just like Toutatis. This was absolutely nuts.

"Why not?" She pouted lightly. "Are you like...part of some super secret club? With initiation rituals and all that jazz?" Vyth lightly ran the tips of her fingers along the back of his neck now. She was just that close to throwing herself into his lap for sure. Now she had a challenge.
"I'll show you mine if you show me yours."

"It's really, really complicated," Gabe said. "I'd tell you but then I'd have to kill you, that sort of thing. And I'd really hate to have to." Kill her, that is.
Damn it, how was he supposed to think with her...touching him? And being all suggestive? And... Things.
He wished blearily that he was better with girls. If he were, this would be so much easier.

"Awww, no fun." She frowned, but trailed her fingers along his jaw line for a moment before stepping back from his chair.
Vyth was slightly disappointed. He'd caught her interest with this whole mysterious stranger thing. Dangling a piece of yarn out in front of a kitten yet not letting said kitten ever catch the string.
With a sigh, she moved to the front of his chair before flopping into his lap. Curling up against his chest with a pout. She didn't care that random people would stare, not being able to wrestle his secrets out of him left her pouty and dejected. At least she could snuggle up against him and make herself feel better.
All the while her coffee growing colder and her muffin going partially uneaten. "Fine then. Tell me something that isn't so dark and mysterious."

"It's for your protection, really," Gabe insisted. He felt terrible denying her, but it was to protect them both. Really.
He watched her in abject confusion as she moved to the front of his chair.
And suddenly he had a lapful of pouty Vythica that he really didn't know what to do with. Good god this was getting more complicated by the second. "Er. Well, unfortunately, the shrouded in myster tart is the only interesting part." He said. "Uh, I head the local MUFON chapter, and I'm a senior at Meadowview?" This was far more information than he would normally share on a first meeting, but he was also not really thinking all the way straight.

Protection, shmomection. Though she supposed it was kind of the thing guys did. Ya know, protect pretty girls so that they didn't get hurt. Though not like she couldn't handle herself.
Reaching back, she pulled his arm around her shoulders. Leaning her head against his chest now as she kicked her feet up and down over the arm rest. "Nah, I bet there's tons of interesting things about you. You're just too modest." She laughed. "Ah neat Meadowview huh? I go to Crystal Academy."

Gabe didn't protest at all when she moved his arms to er shoulders, resting them there comfortably. This actually felt kind of nice, not to mention it was all kinds of flattering.
"Really, I swear, there's not," he said. Gabriel Blake was an intensely boring human being, in his opinion. It was Lt. Natron who was any kind of interesting, a costumed vigilante armed only with a dodgeball and his wits, fighting alien invaders.
Gee, that sounded good in his head.
"Crystal, huh?" He said. "What's that like?"

Poking his nose, she laughed. "Seriously, you are like way too modest and humble. That's hot. But I'll show you just how interesting you are."
Her eyes lidded slightly as he asked about the academy. "Ohhhhh full of snooty rich girls who think their s**t don't stink. There are some nice ones there, though usually those are the girls who worked their asses off to get grants just to go there." Closing her eyes, she took a deep breath. Enjoying how he smelt up so close.. Hmmmmm.
"Then there's me. One of the rich girls who doesn't care if you got money or not. I'll hang with you as long as you don't make me want to punch you in the face." Really, she didn't know what some of these girls had up their butts half the time. So what if you got a full ride to go there while these other girls had to work hard to even get the grant money to do so. Vythica didn't like the have and have nots segregation in her school. It was shitty but then it was high school.

Gabe wanted to argue with her, but that would probably be seen as more humility and he wasn't quite sure how he felt about being considered "hot."
"Huh, sounds awful," he said offhand. He wasn't quite sure how well he'd do surrounded by snooty rich kids. He certainly didn't come from a poor family, but they weren't rich either...solidly middle class.
And apparently he'd managed to find himself a Crystal girl that wasn't a horrible snob. Hm, that was interesting. "I suppose that's a good way to think on it." He said. And really, she'd prove it, hadn't she? He knew he looked like a reject from the thrift store. He just didn't care. It was a good day when he didn't leave the house wearing a tinfoil hat.

Vyth tapped her fingers lightly against his chest. "It has it's moments. Like when some of them snobs find frogs in their pantie drawers." She couldn't help but grin, that had certainly been a classic moment. Hearing them squeal from down the hall. Ahaha.
"Of course it is. Why would anyone want to limit themselves socially like that? It makes absolutely no sense at all. Plus the grant girls are really nice and really passionate about their studies. Its admirable." Playing with a bit of her own hair she was glad at least that it seemed her shared her views on the situation. Vyth knew she was money but she never dangled it over people's heads. Plus ya know, she had a serious problem with money management anyhow so, whatever.
"What about your family? I don't suppose you just popped up out of the ground fully grown one day."

Gabe couldn't help but crack a smile at that mental image. "Which you had absolutely nothing to do with, of course." He said jokingly. It was easier to be comfortable if he focused on everything but where she was.
He nodded somberly. Of course, his own social circle was rather limited to the people he considered "trustworthy," but that list was expanding with his introduction into the Negaverse. "I mean, as long as they're good people, why not talk to them." He shrugged a little. He wasn't necessarily up on proper socialization but even he could see how dumb that was.
"Uh, they're pretty boring too," Gabe said. "My dad's an astronomer and my mom stays at home. What about yours?"

Laughing, she couldn't help but let her grin grow wider. "Oh no, of course not. I am totally innocent of any accusations in that dasterly deed."
Vyth was a social butterfly. She needed interaction with other people, most of the time. There were moments when she just wanted some 'me' time but other than that she was usually with people. Today was different though, everyone else was busy so she had taken to entertaining herself. And what a thing she had found to entertain herself with.
"Oh an astronomer? That sounds pretty neat. And nothing wrong with being a housewife. There's a lot you can do around the house." Her smile faltered for a moment as she asked about her own family. "My mother died when I was really little and my dad is a busy business man. He's rarely at home most of the time. My great grandmother pretty much raised me along with my grandfather. She passed away a few years ago...but now that my grandfather is getting older my dad decided to send me off to Crystal for some 'refinement'."

Gabe was not sure what it was about her, but he definitely like Vythica van Dread. Maybe it was because she was so confident and determined, and that was honestly fairly attractive.
"I guess it is, but my dad refuses to tell me a lot about what he does. I think he's worried he'll give me ideas or something." Almost idly, he reached up to play a little with her hair. So...poofy... "Mom's alright, keeps the house running and whatnot."
He felt a stab of guilt when she described her own family. He hadn't meant to make her sad, crap. "I, uh, I didn't mean to upset you by asking," he said. Foot in mouth, oh boy.

Shaking her head, she merely chuckled. "Give you ideas? " Well that was kind of silly. But if his dad was worried about his serious interest in all this alien stuff she supposed she could see his point. But really, it was just silly. "Ah well, now that seems kind of suspicious if you ask me. Maybe he works with the terrorists." It was an idle thought but perhaps something she would look into later. Right now she didn't feel like doing much snooping in the name of the DMC.
When he played with her hair, it sent a small shiver down her spine and she wiggled just slightly. That was an odd reaction. It was nice though. The action made her think that he was starting to get more comfortable with her sitting in his lap. Which was good, cause she liked doing so.
Waving a hand at him, she smiled. Feeling bad that he felt bad for making her feel bad. In all honesty, she had learned to cope over the years. She hardly remembered her mother. The only part that really hurt the deepest was when her great grandmother had passed away. She was one of the people Vyth was closest too and had been a crippling loss. But she didn't want him to feel guilty for bringing up such emotions in her. "Don't worry about it. These things happen. We hurt for a while when we loose loved ones but we move on and continue to be strong for them because they don't want us to be miserable for the rest of our lives."
Leaning her head closer to his neck, she nuzzled her nose against his skin. "I'm glad she was a part of my life and I get to opportunity to put what she taught me to good use. Though I'm sure she'd probably frown and shake her head at me for most of the things I've done or do."

Gabe snorted and rolled his eyes. "Him, involved? No way." He was sure he'd notice. There was no way he could possibly miss his dad keeping the same weird hours he did.
He was getting more comfortable with her, mostly by force. If she was going to be in his lap like this, he might as well sort of...deal with it, since it was either that or forcibly eject her.
"I mean, I really wouldn't know," he confessed. "I'm not all that close to my grandparents and they're still around, and...yeah." There really wasn't much loss in his background at all.
And then she nuzzled his neck and his brain went ftzftz.
That was really not conducive to serious conversations.
