Arian nodded “Yes, we’re allowed to wear trousers during the winter.” Or maybe allowed was the wrong word for it. The dark-haired teen couldn’t recall there being an actual official winter uniform – instead it seemed that the students started wearing trousers once the weather started getting too cold for shorts and no one from the school administration told them that they couldn’t. No one actually said they could either, however the school officials didn’t really say much of anything uniform-wise as long as the uniform violation wasn’t something blatant.

Arian nodded as Vyth talked a bit about Crystal, although he’d enjoyed reading the books when he was younger the dark-haired teen hadn’t really thought the girls there spent endless amount of time devoted to midnight picnics made up of huge tuck shop stashes, although it had been fun to read about.

“It kind of sounds a bit like the Public schools back in the UK, but with the exception of not going home at the end of the day. You get quite a lot of kids with rich parents there – a lot with super-super rich parents too.” His previous school had been a public school. Arian had fallen into the category of having a parent who could comfortably pay the school fees, but not one with the sort of money to pay to gift bits onto the school. “I kind of prefer Meadowview though to be honest, despite the uniform although it took a bit of getting used to at first” he admitted.

“Until I moved here, I hadn’t really been out of the UK” Arian said “Well I’d been on a few day trips to France, but nothing outside of that. Russia sounds interesting, although cold – well at least the winters there sound really cold.” He smiled ruefully remembering last year’s snowy weather “Then again it gets pretty cold here too, although at least things don’t completely shut down for days and days like it seemed to when it snowed even a little back in the UK.”

He assumed that the Gabe that Vyth had mentioned before was a fellow Meadowview student, although if he was then Arian couldn’t be sure that he was one that he knew – Gabe was a relatively common name and Meadowview wasn’t a particularly small school.

He nodded at Vyth’s comment about maybe checking out Meadowview some day “To be honest if someone shows you around, then I don’t think anyone would mind if you wanted to have a quick look around Meadowview after classes are finished.” To be honest he wasn’t even sure that the school officials would even care that much – well at least as long as trouble wasn’t being caused.

“And we’re almost back to where I live” they were passing the general shop where Arian sometimes picked up groceries, when they’d run out of something basic – like sugar and he didn’t want to make the trip to the bigger store. “My cousin’s apartment’s about five minutes from here.”

“It’s been nice meeting you Vyth, I agree – it would be nice to meet again” he smiled ruefully “Without the actual bumping” shifting his grip on the carrier bag he added “And thanks for walking me back, I’ve enjoyed talking with you too.”

Shifting his grip on the carrier bag meant that he was able to give Vyth a slight wave before continuing on with the now five minute trip back to the apartment. He’d probably get a bunch of questions from Saffy when he finally got in – the trip had definitely ended up taking longer than expected – but fortunately there was nothing meltable in the bag and the company had definitely made for a pleasant walk back.
