His words and the grin that came along with it made the Dark Mirror Senshi sigh, but she couldn't help but return the smile.

It was hard for her to her to get a firm grasp on his situation. His wound was still bleeding, and he'd taken quite a few fits before that. Sure he was smiling, but that wasn't really an indicator of health. So while he was talking to her and seemed to be alright, relatively, she was still worried.

At least he was heeding her concern and letting her get him out of here, not that she could say she was all that happy with his plan. When he moved off her lap she got to her feet and took hold of his arm to help get him up. Tucking herself up against his side, she curled one arm around his back, and the other came to rest on his stomach.

It was times like these where Navi was thankful for the boost in strength she received from her power up. Without it she didn't think she could have held him up, much less helped him down to the street.

"I can't say I'm very fond of the idea of leaving you, though I understand why it's necessary." It was clear she wasn't happy about it though. It wasn't as though they could call each other to check up later. Navi would have no way of knowing if he made it home in one piece.

"Don't worry about it," Chaonis said softly, leaning on her as lightly as he could while they walked. He hated needing the help, but he was in a lot of pain and he knew it was just going to get worse now that he was out of battle and his adrenaline was fading.

He walked with her in silence for a few blocks, thinking things over and hating it.

He hated serious thoughts. He hated being scared and reminded that he was just as mortal as anyone else. He was Danger! He was thrill. There was no reason for him to be in such a sorry state. He was a goddamn badass but he was not invulnerable.

It had been a stark reminder, one he had not wanted or felt he needed.

He was weak, and yet he did not feel as wholly embarrassed as he should have. At least, he found himself rationalizing, it was Navi who had found him. As if leaning on someone who should be an enemy was any reasonable in any way. But he was glad she was there to help him. Without him having to ask.

Once they were close enough he stopped, looking at her pointedly. He was at a loss for words again, really bad at thank yous. As bad at them as he was for asking for help, in fact. He kissed her, tugging her to him and holding on to her tightly. It settled, in the middle of that kiss, that he could have lost her in all of this. By being taken from her, or by the bad guys coming back and seeing her.

Once again Navi was thankful for the additional strength her powers awarded her, cause with the difference in size between them, lightly leaning or not, Chaonis was quite a bit larger then her, and she'd never be able to help him along for more then a block as just a civilian.

He was quiet as they walked, and Navi wasn't in a hurry to break it. Her mind was busy as well, running through the possible scenarios that could have been. Everything that could have gone wrong, or the complications that could have sprung up.

Bad as it was, it really could have been a lot worst.

She looked up at him as he brought them both to a stop, ginger brows arching curious as he turned a pointed look down to her. The kiss was sudden, and the puzzled expression melted away under the touch of his lips and the slow dawning of what it meant. His arms circled her, holding her closely, and she wrapped her's around him in turn, all but clinging to him as gently as she was able. The last thing she wanted to do was hurt him worse, but she really didn't want to let him go.

If this was where he wanted her to leave him, then they'd have to go their own ways, and this was the point Navi was dreading. Once out of her sight she'd have no idea if he made it home safe or how he was fairing. It brought the tiniest of helpless whines from the teen's lips as she kissed him, and her grip on him tightened all the more.

She didn't usually let the fact that they were on opposing sides bother her, but right that moment she hated it.

Chaonis would have had to agree to her. He kissed her and tried to forget everything else for a little while, until the kiss broke and he rested his forehead against hers.

He took a breath, steeling himself, maybe, to get going.

He didn't move away from her, though, looking at her and thinking odd things. He was glad, he decided, that he was the one that had gotten into the trouble, and not her. He was glad that no one had given her any s**t for helping him, and he was certainly glad that she had been there.

But he didn't say anything.

At least, not any of that.

"I'll see you later," he said, instead of the multitude of other things bouncing around in his head. It was difficult to move away from her, and not because of his injury. He gripped his side and finally turned away, limping slowly and staring at the path ahead of him rather than looking back at her until he was a safe enough distance that he could do so without the urge to stay.

He offered her a grin, and a thumbs up with his bloody hand, then made to very slowly continue on his way.

Navi didn't want to leave him, but when he finally turned away from her she let her hands slip from his sides to return to her own, blood stained fingers curling tightly against the desire to reach out for him again.

She watched him go, limping down the street, carefully rooted to the spot, because if she moved now it would be to run to his side, and she couldn't do that. All the same, it was practically torture watching him make his painful way, and it was probably a good thing he didn't turn before her did to grin at her, because she might have broken down and insisted on getting him somewhere safe herself.

The thumbs up brought a reluctant smile, and she chuckled, if only to keep the waiting tears at bay. She didn't this, not one little bit.

When he disappeared around a corner she took to the roof of the nearest building, and it took every ounce of self control she possessed not to simply follow him. Instead she moved only as far as the edge of the building, hazel eyes falling on distant figures moving around, unaware that anything had happened that night.

She waited there, until she felt the familiar aura fade from her range, and only then did she seek out a mirror to return to her own home. Seeking a long shower, and what she was sure to be a restless night.
