Nuru wandered between the trees and the saplings, looking between the two entities separately before suddenly plopping down beside a decent sized sapling that looked more... grey... but shared the same exact leaves as it's parent, "How's this one?"

"I dunno, is it gonna get darker as it gets older or somethin?" Roch asked, looking at the sapling curiously. He wanted the best lookin' tree he could find, he decided as he brought down his shovel. "And where do we dig at t'make sure it lives till we get it replanted?" he asked.
Then he stopped. "Why're you so willin' t'help, anyway?" he asked the dog curiously. "This is grunt work. An' sure it means a lot t'me, but it shouldn't mean jack to you."

"Yep an' t'flowahs are white... an just like... out a bit...," Nuru tried to mark the ground with a claw to show Roch where to put the shovel.
"Grunt work? Who said ah was carryin' oa diggin' foa ya?" Nuru seemed to be smiling. It was hard to tell though for certain with the muzzle and all.

"Good point," Roch said, starting to dig where he'd been pointed to. "So... y'know... I don't think we've ever really talked," he admitted, looking at the dog boil curiously.
"I'm Roch, Roch Scythe. Hob," he introduced himself. He wasn't worried about the boil being a hunter, though. It was obvious by his FEAR that he was a second year. Sometimes having sense soul came in handy.

"We wereeee in a classs togetha' ya know," Nuru pointed out idly as he just curled up to lazily watch Roch work before adding, "Ahm Nuru. Just. Nuru."
"We took chahms class... you tried tah kill meh," he wasn't sure if this was a good thing or a bad thing to remind the reaper of.

"I did?" he asked, thinking back. And back... and back... "Oh, right, that wasn't tryin' t'kill you," he said, still digging as if this was a typical conversation. "That was j'st a warning. She might be annoying, but she's still my best friend, y'know."
And that was his explanation. But seriously, all he'd done was summon his guitar. That wasn't nearly as bad as what he'd done to several... SEVERAL other guys for other things. He didn't even really see it as a threat, honestly.

"She tried tah grab meh..," Nuru gave Roch a rather blank stare, "Ah dun like bein' grabbed by strangahs." A simple irrefutable fact he decided, "All ah did was try tah protect mahself."

"I figured," Roch said. "But sometimes it ain't a matter of who's right, but who's closest." He was moving around the tree, digging as deep as he thought he should. "Nobody got hurt. But y'might need t'try talkin' instead of growlin', she's sort of... dense when it comes t'dogs, far as I can tell." Or anyone else, really. He loved her like a sister, but even he silently admitted Danny lacked common sense, above all else.

"Growlin' is talkin'," Nuru felt the need to clarify, "It says 'ah dun like what ya doin, so stop'. Et's a warnin', not a tret."
He watched keenly as the shovel dug into the earth over and over. Floppy ears in an effort to perk... fell backward limply.

"See, that just means you an' I understand each other, Danny might still be another matter," Roch said, grunting. "How do I pull it out without hurtin' it?" he asked curiously. "Do I just tug? Do I gotta dig underneath?"

"You nevah know till you let her do her own thing," Nuru suggested before going around trying to see how deep Roch got with the shovel before being able to answer. Once he got a better idea he settled back down and nodded, "Yah, gotta put t'shovel undah an' wedge et up. Alreaddeh got past roots."

Roch did as he was told, grunting as he shoved the tree out of the hole. "Got it," he said. "Do we need to put it in a bag or something?" he asked as he looked at the roots with a strange expression. He really wasn't used to plants it seemed. "And... I got no clue where we should plant it," he admitted.

"Et should be fine ah think," Nuru offered before scurring around in a semi circle looking at it, "Looks great, too!" Great enough to mark... but he opted to contain himself, just this once. For the sake of a possible new friend. The mere thought made it seem like he was smiling even bigger.
"Well. Ah'll gladleh dig a new hole forrit but ya gotta have a spot firs'."

"How... about near the library?" Roch finally decided. "There's a ratty area in the back that they shouldn't yell too much over the tree," he said, wondering if he could balance it on the shovel--nope, it was already starting to fall over. He shot his hand out, grabbing it by the trunk and picking it up. He put the shovel down--he'd have to come back for it later, he figured.
And the library was fitting, he figured. He just needed to talk to someone to make sure they didn't dig it back up, later, thinking it was junk, or something. Moira seemed a good candidate.

"T'librareh souns perfec'," Nuru encouraged as he trotted over to pick the shovel up in his teeth like a new chew toy. Mouth now full, all he could really do was stare up at Roch expectantly, tal swishing side to side.
