"Yeah ... but I mean... He's like a dude and stuff. He'll be okay." That was Danny's way of reassuring herself Rikki would be alright without her. Honestly, her pestering was probably the only thing that kept him going to classes. She almost worried he'd sleep through everything without her waking him up at the cheery hour of 6 in the morning.
She shook her head and said, "But today's your day!" She smiled at her mantis friends and clasped his hands, holding them close. "We should get you a cake or something!" A cake made of rats. Yes.

"Of course he will be." Senpai would be sure to notice him and keep him on track if it was for Miss Danny. Always for Miss Danny.
His day? He did not really have a day. And if a day meant he had to eat cake...no thank you. If he had only known she meant a rat cake he would have been thrilled, especially if the cake had been decorated with spiders and trimmed with snakes. As it was..."Oh uh, Miss Danny? Do you want me to help you put away your things while I am here?" He was looking at her bed, where there was a roll of toilet paper. That would belong in the bathroom ordinarily...

"NO NO NO NO NO," Danny screeched, divebombing the bed, covering the toilet paper with her body like it was a grenade about to explode.
"Don't touch it!" she urged, seeming far too frantic over a roll of toilet paper. She cradled it close to her body, rolling over so Yin could at least see it. The toilet paper was twitching. This toilet paper was sedentary.
She covered it with an arm and said, "It's really weird I know okay- it's all stupid Rage's fault." Poor Yin would have to make sense of that.

 Yin watched as Miss Danny threw herself onto the bed, more than a bit confused. She was...cuddling...a roll of toilet paper? That was...was it...it was moving. It was moving. That was just weird. And it was...because she was angry or something? "Did your rage make it come alive?" Yin asked full of somewhat understandable confusion. "Oh! Or is it something inside the roll?"

"He's not my Rage," Danny corrected, "We're not like that! He's just my mentor, seriously." Jack forbid Yin accidentally start a rumor that she was with the ToTer Rage. That would just be ridiculously humiliating. No thanks.
She looked at the twitching thing, watching it bounce awkwardly in her arms. It was rather fidgety like that. "But I don't know. He just gave it to me and told me I have to raise it- what does that even mean?" she exasperated, flopping back on her bed and letting the stupid paper roll bounce on her stomach.
"I mean it's like TOILET PAPER. How do you grow that?!"

Oh, Rage was a name? Interesting name...though at least it had a clear meaning, he could appreciate that much.
But he was as stuck as she was about the toilet paper. Toilet paper rolls seemed to shrink rather than grow, but this one did move? "Maybe you plant it?" he said almost helplessly. "Or um...Nurse Cricket...she um, knows a lot about plants..." he seemed to be fidgeting a bit. "Um, she shall be my mentor..." Seeing as she was already on the subject...

Plant it? Danny let out a tiny hiss at the idea of planting anything. She spent her time burning down bushes, not building them. She was not May okay sobs.
An eyebrow cocked at Nurse Cricket being a mentor to anyone- that really didn't seem safe, but then ... she did have cute bugs. Danny took a moment to tip the scales in her tiny hamster wheel mind and finally decided to approve of Yin's mentor.
"That's neat. Has she made you do any weird stuff yet?" Danny inquired. She looked at the toilet paper in her lap and stroked it with a finger the way one would pet a cat under its chin. Strangely enough, the toilet paper vibrated with a purr in response. "Like take care of weird toilet paper?"

"W-weird things? Well..." No, it was not exactly weird, just different. "She gave me my exam and I traveled with her. That was why I was gone the other night..." Was he blushing? Yes, yes he was.
"And we filled out some paperwork on the train ride home. But nothing weird?" Nothing like that weirdly moving and purring toilet paper in her lap.

"Huh," Danny said, somewhat surprised. "I had to jump over a bunch of pits and stuff for mine ... oh and I guess the horseman trials." A tiny shudder as she recalled the events of the trials. She'd definitely earned her promotion there.
She shrugged and looked down at her toilet paper. "Well it sounds like you had it easy though! Grats and stuff." The toilet paper had apparently grown sullen and disconnected from her pets, and decided to roll off her lap and onto her bed. Was that a paw tangled up in there? No, couldn't be.
"You wanna go celebrate?" She was kind of tired, actually, but Yin deserved a celebration! She could rustle up some energy for him, no big deal.

Yeah. Easy. He kept to himself that he had failed the Nurse, that she had dissipated on his watch, and that he had dissipated as well. It would be easier for them if she did not know about all of that.
"Thank you," he said with a small shake of his head, "but there is no need to go celebrate. I simply wished for you to know." She had a fairly active roll of toilet paper there, and Yin was rather glad that that was not something he had to deal with. But well, now she knew, and that was that. "Um...good luck with your mentor though?"
