Gritting her teeth as his shots hit her shield, Kat spun on her heel, quickly drawing her weapons on him again, only for him to duck behind cover again. "Heh, trust me. I could barely hit a target when I first became a hunter. I still miss often." Thanks to the training, and skills she had acquired over time, that seemed to be less of an issue as late, but still..
Waiting for him to give away his position again was something she should be doing, but eagerness got the better of her. A problem on her side. Patience was always the key to success, something she needed to have driven in.
Giving pursuit, she followed Lex by leaping over where she had last seen him, and thankfully caught sight of him close by. Taking aim again, she fired a shot, just clipping his shield this time.

Her bullet had caught his shoulder, but he didn't even take notice. Instead, the tall Life trainee just moved forward, kissed Kat on the forehead, and ran in the completely opposite direction, looking for a better vantage point and smirking all the while, staying silent.

Hah! Perfect! He was wide open for another attack, and he was--wait, why was he coming towards her? Wouldn't it be smarter to run the other wa? Hey. Hey! HEY!!
Stunned, Kat nearly dropped her weapons from pure shock alone when Lex graced her with the kiss on her forehead.
What hell--!?

Her first kiss--of any kind--and he just--
Quivering with rage, the sun hunter slowly rose to her feet and shot a look at the hunters back as he quickly fled the scene.
"YOUR DEAD!"
Springing into action, she gave chase again, hopping across the obstacles in her path to cut him off and take another chunk out of his fear shield.

Peppered with ammo and rage, Lex's shield was on a fast track towards shattering - he could feel that he was less that fifty percent. Not good. He grit his teeth as he shot back a weak burst, attempting to run while shooting. Jury's decision: He wasn't a good shot while moving. At least he managed a hit, though.
Managing to take temporary shelter behind a large boulder, Lex just smirked. "Didn't mean to offend you there, miss, but you just looked too cute to not kiss." He piped up, revealing his location again.
Come a little closer, attack a little more.

Hot on his tail, Kat followed after, guns at the ready. No one, not even her foster families got to do what he just did! Maybe she was over reacting, but still.. She was furious.
Her cheeks flushed at his comment, her temper rising all the more. Oh, he was going to pay!
With his location revealed again, Kat jumped up and over, landing in front of Lex, ready to unleash her fury on the life hunter.

Lex could only give Kat a very sheepish grin as she appeared in front of him, guns blazing as bullet after bullet bit into his shield. He rolled away, panting as he narrowly escaped. He was about spent, but he was going to abide by the rules he'd set up - go until the shield breaks.
He managed to shoot one bullet at her thigh, before he rose up and cocked back the hammer of the gun, simply standing there.
"Well...you're certainly a feisty one, Kat. A fine Sun, I say."

His sheepish grin was met with a scowl as she continued to chip away at his shield. It wouldn't be long now before his shields dropped, she knew that at least!
Caught off gaurd by his attack, she stepped back, as if to avoid the worst of it, not that it did much. Her shield took the full damage, causing the sun hunter to stumble a little. Smart, going for the leg. Surprisingly, he made no motion to run again, and instead only stood there as he readied his weapon.
"J-just--quiet you!" Sly little life hunter!
Well, run or no, she wasn't going to waste this chance! Without another word, she unleashed another, and possibly final, round of attacks on his shield, hoping to break through them this time.
She was close at least..

Taking the barrage of bullets with clenched teeth, Lex continued to hold his stance, gripping the flintlock pistol with two hands, steadying his aim and steeling himself. The hammer was cocked back, and the runes on the gun were glowing bright.
"Heh....sorry." He smirked, albeit his mirth a bit clouded by fatigue.
He pulled the trigger, grimacing as a high soprano note exploded throughout the area, a bullet of compacted air and reverberating sound waves crashing into the Sun.
Panting, the man took quick cover behind one of the dummies. He was so dead.

Before she realized what it was he was up to, it was too late to act. Immediately halting her attack, Xedis was de-summoned as her hands quickly went to her ears. Soprano's! Why did they have to be so bloody loud!?
With no chance of stopping the attack, the bullet hit home, knocking the hunter back some. It was an attack like that, that made her curious to what it would do to her, if her fear shield had not been up. Likely, she would have been screwed, and ended up in the infirmary. However, thanks to her fear shield, she was still standing--he shield took heavy damage--but she was still in the fight.
With her weapons still un-summoned, she slowly advanced on the hunter, clenching her fist tightly. With nothing more said, she aimed a punch at him, breaking through the remainder of his shields.
HP: 23/50

Lex couldn't have expected much less, in all honesty. He'd kissed her without warrant, a taboo to most of society. His shield shattering wasn't that great of a feeling though, nor was the punch to the face that cut his lip.
Back on the ground, he still smirked as he brushed his lip with the back of his hand - it was a shallow cut, thank Go, and wouldn't leave a scar. He had to keep the moneymaker pretty.
Pushing himself up from the ground, avoiding being within arm's reach of the young woman, Lex brushed himself off, grabbing his coat from where he'd set it before they started the spar. Didn't want to get it dirty and all.
"Well, Kat, good shooting. Thanks for the spar." He said, smiling genuinely. "And uh, sorry about that little move. Pretty uncalled for."

Good! She had actually managed to make him bleed a little. Hopefully a small reminder for him not to pull a stunt like that again.
With the spar over, the sun hunter folded her arms and watched him get to his feet, not making anymore attempts to attack him further. They had made a deal, after all, that they stop when one of their shields go down, and she got her revenge.
Her gaze followed him as he reached for his coat--strange that he actually took it off before the battle. Didn't all hunters wear them into battle?
Lifting her chin slightly, before lowering it again. "You're forgiven."

Fastening the buttons to his peacoat style coat, Lex gave the girl an appreciative nod. Good - he hated to have people bear a grudge about him. Once they were buttoned and his scarf was retied, he gave a wistful sigh as he thought of what the rest of the day entailed; research, language studies, possibly infirmary duties. Oh, and probably grab the full Hunters their coffee, scones, and wipe their butts.
A day in the Life labs, he mused.
"Glad to hear - see you around, Kat." He replied, walking past her to ruffle her hair on the way out.
