Yep, it hurt just as bad the second time as it did the first; the blow connected with a dull thud against her legs.
{[ You're being a sloppy ghoul. Shape up. ]}
Her weapon had a point. If Clerise didn't get a bit faster at dodging these blows, she was going to fall behind, and fast. The best defence was a good offence, or something like that, right? That's how the saying went?
"I like that," Clerise mused. "Partners in crime. He can be the Bonnie to my Clyde." And then she jumped, twisting her body as she did, bringing them down in an x shaped pattern in her descent.

The double strike of the two sickles hurt a lot more than it looked like it would and Rep immediately regretted not backing the hell up. Eating that damage wasn't advisable at all, small weapons did not mean small damage. He almost envied the grace and unpredictability of dual wielders.
"He's a lot ******** faster man, nice!"
Tracey's tone was hissed and clipped.
< fear.>> he mentally crooned at the fallen angel, outwardly his smirk broadening as he dropped back into his battle stance, part of the problem he realised as he swung again was that he kept stopping and starting, it was harder to start an engine than keep it ticking.
Tracey's mental little hiss of delight was all he needed to know they'd hit the required charge, the runes crackling along the axe as per usual, his heartrate kicking up a notch, the charge could end the fight or end him instead.

Clerise glowed like a happy mother at the compliment. She didn't have a pet, anymore, and would never have a child. So the next best thing was a compliment to her weapon-- an extension of herself-- and therefore a compliment to her personally.
"Thanks!"
She kept on the move, light on her toes, determined to best Rep again in combat. She'd lost recently to Robert, thanks to his prowess and maybe a little of her own reluctance to fight.
Clerise would not have herself known as someone who'd gone soft.
To avoid the blade, Clerise spun around, taking the brunt of the blow to her back-- and again, it sent her into the air, hitting the ground with her knees, hard. She didn't let it slow her down, though. Using her momentum, Clerise turned it into a forward tumble, and then launched herself backwards into an aerial backflip, a crazed glint in her eye as she swung with both hands, again.
She was a ******** acrobat, and it was time she used her abilities for good. Balthazar's runes glowed with a similar charge, gleaming red and orange.

Rep was admittedly dazzled by the show of acrobatics and offset by just a hint of sheer envy.
circus William.> The fallen angel hissed again breathless and strained, but too late, as the edges slashed brutally at his shield, making him reel.
Fine. He wanted the charge release as much as Tracey did and the order snapped him out of his reverie. He wasn't professional in the least, but there was an innate sort of violent grace to the way he worked up the momentum, letting the axe lead him as he swung and built up speed, the runes crackling and bleeding off into the air as he without warning leapt heavenward, bringing the serrated blade down in an arc.
He collided with that satisfying crunch of shattering shield, instinctually hauling back the moment he did, getting more wary lately about doing lasting damage with this ******** insane charge.
he stammered, staggering back, his muscles claiming interest on such a brutal swing. But it didn't matter, it felt so ******** good and never lost its edge.
Yes.>

The blade struck her with a force she hadn't felt in a long, long time. Since Clarice had flung her into a wall a few months ago, sending her into a coma after thrusting her against a wall.
Clerise didn't travel as far, this time, but her limp body did go rocketing across the field. Her shield was done, Balthazar de-summoned, and she laid there, for a second, completely disoriented.
"Holy s**t," she wheezed, quietly and to herself. Her limbs felt like jello, and the best the redhead could do was weakly raise an arm after a minute or two, conceding to defeat.
Tracey had sliced her side, a clean diagonal cut-- it was bleeding, but it wasn't any deep wound. No guts spilling out: she'd be fine. In the mean time? This dirt could be an awful comfy bed. Maybe if she just stayed here a minute...

Rep's expression dropped as he took in the trajectory of the hit, still inwardly cringing at the brutality Tracey was capable of with a good charge in him. There was a moment, drawn out and terrifying when he couldn't see if she was breathing or not. Tracey was promptly desummoned.
As he made his way over, heart in his mouth, she moved, raising her arm and speaking.
Thank ******** world returned to normal.
Leaning over he reached out to take the arm she'd lifted and offer her some help to her feet. "'Sorry sis, that s**t's ******** lethal, still trying to judge it proper. "

"Hnnghhh," Clerise replied, grateful that Rep was giving her a hand. She tried not to bleed all over him, glaring at her hand that was slick with blood from where she clutched it.
"Can say that again. Wanna see you use it on a pony."
She swayed, a bit, and was a bit pale-- but hey, she was standing. That was good. "No guts," she said, a wavery grin on her face, pointing at her belly. "Help me till I get to Sunny?"

Blood had never bothered Rep, so he barely noticed as he helped her up, simply checking her over as she stood. No guts was a relief. His triage skills were entirely non existent and he didn't think internal injuries were treatable with the tuck-it-all-back-in-and-hope-for-the-best school of medicine.
"Oh I dunno man, you have plenty guts." he smiled approvingly, actually laughing. "More guts than any woman has any ********' right to have."
"But aye, lets get you to Sunny so she can piss and moan about you always getting hurt by something." He put an arm around her to steady her and helped take her weight before steering both of them life labsward.
