Cyan arose, the smell of the earthen bed she lay upon giving off a sweet aroma, one she knew well. A humming bird flew to her shoulder as she sat up and stretched out her small form. "Good morning Azul," She gently petted the lovely sapphire feathers with a gentle expert touch.
"It's time for school... Or did I miss it?" As she moved quickly to get dressed, which for her was simple. She only had to command the earth and it listened, creating a beautiful gown of flowers and leaves sewn together with beautiful feathers and a gentle rose in her hair appeared as a final touch.

Please tell me I didn't miss too much of that strange class... What was it called again? She racked her brain to remember, when Azul flew past her in a hurried rush. I better find out why Mother is crying... Cyan rushed from her treehouse, for that is where she lived. Unlike most demons who loved their power and human homes, Cyan had been born of the Earth, she could sense it's sadness when life or death happened.

Rushing, she forgot to hide her home in the trees, arriving just in time to see the students heading back into the building. it was around noon. Oh no, I've overslept! The pull of the earth's cries called her to a place where a kid had been apparently beaten severely. Cyan couldn't help but feel compassion for him, but her instincts warned her of helping outsiders. She had never thought to help Elementals, or other unknown Demons. Her father, a Demon, had warned her to stay away from Elementals.

Cyan hid in the trees just beyond the school grounds waiting for the kids to disappear into the school. When she found a cleared spot she rushed to her favorite place to watch the students within the strange brick building. "To the window on the second floor, please." she whispered quietly to a small seed in her hand as she dropped it on the ground.

It started to take root and grow, until it was large enough for her to climb up it and sit on the top, perched carefully just out of view of anyone inside the classroom.

Kisamsi swung her legs back over the wall, neatly finishing her sandwich and standing at attention at the same time. With a bow and a cheerful smile, she greeted her commander. "Shushou-sama! Good afternoon," she said with quiet cheerfulness. With her head cocked to the side, she contemplated her answer to his question. "Today, I'm...I..." With a sigh and a kick at the ground, Kiki crossed her arms, glanced over her shoulder at the schoolyard. "To be honest, I tire of these games we play. My knives thirst, the winds sing to me of war..." Her voice trailed off faintly as a dreamy look crossed her face. It would be so beautiful, so beautiful when the Demons finally won. And they would win, she would ensure it.

"But!" she interjected, her voice bright again. "I await my orders eagerly. As your first lieutenant, I am prepared to implement whatever plan we devise with cruel and calculating accuracy!" She spun in a circle and danced her way over to Takaya, the Demon of Blood, the newest Demon commander, skipping once around him before standing coyly with her hands clasped behind her.

Yosuke turned to his left to look at his bestest of bros, Ryan. "Sup bro. For one it's noon already, or did ya not bother even looking at the clock today?" He said in a joking manner. Ryan had been a pretty close friend for about as long as Yosuke could remember, even if he thought the guy could be pretty damn insufferable. They fought occasionally, well, in truth, their personalities completely clashed most times, but eh, Elemental pride or something kept them as good buds. "Nothing much. I had to scare away some idiot trying to take advantage of little Chikoro." He prepped himself for the line of questions about the fight. His bro had an obsession for that stuff.

Yosuke picked at his lunch, not really caring about it. "How bout you, dude? Make it out of the house okay today?"

Kevin Kelly

Darkness elemental

Everything has its wonders, even darkness and silence...

Kevin woke and lay in bed for a few moments, staring into the darkness of his room. His bedroom was located in the basement of his home, and he almost never turned on the lights unless he had guests. The darkness had no secrets from him, and he'd never had a problem seeing through it before. He stood to his feet, letting his blankets fall in a slightly tangled mess, showering and dressing quickly. He walked upstairs, pouring himself a bowl of cereal. His father had just left, his mother still slept. It was always like this it seemed, just missing his parents as he got ready for school. Soon he was out the door and on his way.

At school, Kevin was his usual silent self, never offering an answer when the teacher asked for one, but doing the work he was assigned.

Before long the lunch bell was ringing, and as always, when Kevin sat at his corner table, a few hanger-ons would drift his way, each thinking they were so different from the rest of the school, but each looking for a leader for their little group. Kevin didn't mind their company, as long as they didn't expect him to be their leader.

He ate his home-prepared lunch in silence, letting the others quiet conversations roll over him. One good thing about this little group, is Kevin heard almost all of the school gossip from them. So he soon heard about Yosuke's fight, and Kir's morning bully problems.

...and I learn to be content there in the darkness.

Grinning at kisami's response, Takaya leaned against the ledge of the building and pulled out a new cigarette. "Well well, that's what I like to hear. Do not worry Kitakaze-san. Your blades will soon be sated. We will be making our move soon." He proclaimed, mind racing will all the glorious idea and concepts he had to kill and torment his born enemies. Now, despite him hating everything that exists, and every living being. He had a hard time hating his second. The demon of wind, was exactly what a demon should be. Deadly, obedient, deceitful, and not a single suspicion from Elementals of her true self.

Lighting his cigarette, he took a deep long drag and admired the fresh scent of tobacco now wafting through the air. Takaya looked at his second expectantly. "So. Any new observations as of late?"

Azul flew to Cyan's shoulder and rested there, Cyan smiled at the little humming bird, he'd been her only true companion since her father was killed many many years ago. Since then, she'd been afraid of the other Demons and especially the Elementals.
Azul always brought her news of the going's on so she was able to keep up to date on the outside world. Being a Healer, not just a specialized one, but one that could also heal elemental powers to their normal strength without draining her own life force, it was a demand she was not willing to suffer.

It was how her father had been killed, by other Demons and Elementals who demanded his abilities of power healing so they could continue their wars and destruction. Cyan could not understand the reason for such waste of life, but when her father died, she had lost all control.

Shaking her head to remove the memory in her head, she focused on keeping hidden, she could feel the earth move and breath as she sat on her little cushion of leaves in her makeshift perch. She had never gone to a school before, let alone dared come within a few hundred feet of other Demon's and or Elementals out of fear.

This was exciting and new to her, she watched through the other windows just below her perch the lunchroom diners who mosied about their lunchmaking. "Azul, why do they eat out of a plastic bag? Wouldn't fresh food be more preferred?" Azul shook it's little head and chirped. "Oh, they don't eat the bags, but the food is still fresh in those?" The bird nodded once. Cyan felt so inexperienced around other people that she looked away in saddness. But her bright mood lightened when she felt a joyfulness from the earth below her.

"I wonder what will be taught today?" She said to the little bird as she leaned slightly closer to get a better look inside the class room.

The classroom had man pictures of historical places and such, buildings of old antiquity and strange objects that were round, pointed, angled and other directional things. She only knew that the round object was a 'Globe' because the instructor had called it that when he was explaining the history of their town. Cyan continued to gaze at the globe, her thoughts racing to find more knowledge about such things...

Kisami tapped a finger against her cheek. Nothing of major importance, she admitted. I observed the Water Elemental engaging in a fight this morning--lamentable. They don't even recognize their true selves yet. With a pout, she looked to the sky. As much as she wanted to smear the Elementals off the face of the Earth, to destroy them now would be...boring. Like squishing ants. Ants without legs. It wouldn't be as satisfying as seeing them truly struggle in a fight, watching the hope die in their eyes at the realization of their own deaths. Only then could she finally avenge her parents, fulfill her duty, and be free.

With another sigh, she eyed her commander curiously. We will be making a move soon? I can't imagine you've been too satisfied with sitting in the wings, Mr. Blood Demon, she said in a sing-song voice, trailing her fingers over his shoulder as she danced past. She faced away from him, gazing out over the school's campus for any suspicious activities. There was something magical on the winds, something...familiar yet foreign, but since she couldn't perceive any direct threat, Kiki kept silent. "I don't suppose we'll be trying to round up the other demons soon, will we?" she asked off-handedly.

So a fight had occurred. That was nice enough information. "who was after her this time?" Ryan asked waving his hand. "I was up late last night with family problems. I needed to sleep it off." He wasn't going to dive into anymore information then that. He didn't see a need for it. Looking up when another sat he smiled. Kevin. One who hardly ever spoke. "Afternoon Kevin." Ryan looked back as Yosuke asked about the morning. "it went fine." A downright lie but once again he didn't feel the need to dive into his personal life. His friends were his friends, but he didn't ever find the time to explain much to them.

Fiddling with his cell phone Ryan checked the time. At least he had gotten here before class. Looking around he frowned. "anyone seen Kira this morning?" Hopefully her day hadn't been too rough. He tried to keep an eye on her but that was more Yosuke's place. Ryan was just around to stir trouble up and he loved it. Though he would also back friends up. The only people he would do anything for were all right in front of him. Or just about anyways.

Azul fluttered his wings and flew off in a rush, chattering to Cyan as he did. Demons?! here?! She felt a rush of fear flow from her head to her toes. The perch she rested on quivered in response to her fear. "I'm so very stupid! If... if..." She was so scared she could hardly speak as her green blue eyes dashed in every direction. The only Demon she did not fear, she had not seen or spoken to in a very long time, but it had been a strange event in any case - at least to her.
She kept her attention on her surrounds for now, she did her best to conceal herself, but it would be quite another matter to conceal a tree - on which she sat, comfortably perched. Oh I'm such a fool! Father would be mad... he always told me to keep away from Demons and Elementals... why couldn't I just stay home today?! She continued to pound herself mentally, hoping that even her Mystical power could hide her from the other Demons in the area.

Azul still hadn't returned, when a ringing sound came to Cyan's ears. Looking at the building then at the few students who were within range of sight. Cyan guessed school was back in session, or was about to be. Some of the other kids seemed to be completely oblivious to a foreign tree standing next the building a strange spot, while others eyed it with a morbid curiosity. Cyan did her best to keep silent and not move when anyone looked at her perch. Blend in... don't make any sudden movements! The thought helped calm her when the wind suddenly picked up. It wasn't the wind itself she feared, but the fact it blew towards the building carrying her scent to the other creatures, Demons, who could pick it up and know she was there.

Takaya merely shrugged at the first bit. "I noticed that as well. It's a pity. I do wonder, are they all useless and untrained?" He asked rhetorically. It was true, they could likely easily take out each and every one of the Elementals they had observed so far. But, he was nothing if not a sadistic demon. He wanted to plan it out, so that each of his mortal rivals would suffer for as long as possible before he offed them. Plans laid upon plans, laid upon some scheming on how to torture each of their psyches and break them physically. Then, after they were dead, he would move on to the rest of the world.

Smoke slowly danced its way out of existence around the blood demon, as he took another drag from his smoke. "Yes to both. You know me well. It's been getting rather boring as of late. Nothing serious though. I think we need to test them, before going all out. But, we'll get to that later." He briefly pondered his next words as he ashed his cigarette over the edge of the building. "There is...one key player we need to recruit yes. I can smell her blood on the campus right now. The Demon of Nature."

((OOC: Sorry if this gets annoying. I just like quoting the person I'm responding to, so I can remember which character I'm being. . _.))

Cyan's waited till all the students around her area had cleared away, at least to her knowledge. She wasn't about to risk another person catching her. It was already too late if a Demon was on the campus, definitely too late to hide from them unless she could make it to the woods just outside the campus grounds. There. There was safety in those trees, she could hide there - keeping her powers away from power mad creatures, keeping her forest pure and unsoiled by death and destruction.
I just had to be stupid and expose myself, didn't I? She chided herself as she opened the flower barrier that hid her small four foot six inch frame from any curious onlookers. Looking left and right then behind her she quietly began to climb down from her perch. "Mother, forgive me..." She whispered as she realized she wasn't going to make it to the woods. She could feel the Earth's call, she could sense the winds change, even the air seemed to shimmer with a powerful glow that usually signaled a Demon close by.

Cyan decided it would be safer in her perch after all, At least then I can keep my footing, it shouldn't be too difficult... I mean, what Demon would be stupid enough to climb this tree looking for a Demon thought to be extinct? Cyan was slightly comforted with the thought, but she did take the precaution to secure her safety.
As she climbed back onto her perch, she created thorns of Magic on the tree's body, making it difficult to climb the tree. But also, she made several identical flower perches made to give illusion to her actual position on the tree should they get passed the Thorns of Magic.

"Oh, just some freshman punk who thinks he can add my sisters to his collection of girls. Ryojo Mocha-something-or-whatever." Yosuke looked at his friend for a second, knowing he was being a secretive a** again. He knew when his friends were hiding stuff and lying to his face, but he didn't feel like pressing the matter today. "Well, that's good. Y'know, you ever can't stand it at your place, you can come over to mine. Always got a few spare rooms." Which was true. Yosuke's family wasn't by any means poor, despite having five sisters, there was always room in his house.

Upon hearing Kira's name, Yosuke looked down for a bit, in shame. 'Agh..I shoulda acted quicker..' Taking an amazingly refreshing drink of his water, he cleared his throat. "Ah...sorta. Some b***h threw her into the lockers early in the morning. She ran off to class before I could really talk to her though. I...dunno if she'll come to lunch. But, she's a lot less likely to head home, knowing her." Yosuke said quietly. He always...wanted to protect that girl. Whenever things like this happened, he took it a bit hard.

Kisami's eyes widened. The Demon of Nature...Cyan. No wonder the winds felt so familiar. She closed her eyes and breathed in deeply, beckoning to the winds. "Minami kaze, sing to me. Higashi kaze, cry for me. Nishi kaze, whisper to me. Kita kaze, scream for me." Kisami was immediately filled with the voices of the winds, each voice murmuring of the demon hiding in plain sight. They questioned her existence, questioned why she was there, what she had come for. The whispering West wind swirled around her arm, pointing in the direction of the Nature Demon. Kisami opened her eyes and looked; it was just at the edge of campus, towards a suspiciously fertile growth of flowers on a tree.

Abprutly, Kisami turned on her heel. "She's mine," she said tensely, before diving off the rooftop with a swirl of wind surrounding her. The bell had just rung, signaling the return to classes, but just this once, Kisami had something more important to accomplish. She hovered in the air just outside the magical perimeter surround the tree. Her bracelet sparkled intensely, echoing the the winds themselves, as well as Kisami's emotional state.

"Cyan," she murmured, "What are you doing here, darling?"

Before Cyan could answer, magical vines lashed out like whips aimed at Kisami, but only intending to knock her away not do her real harm. Cyan could not do harm unless truly provoked to it - like so many years ago... She felt the pang of the Death's she'd caused in her rage and vengeful pain. Cyan heard the vines extend.

But when she heard Kisami's voice, she gasped. It had been quite some time since she'd last seen the Demon who controlled the essence of the winds. Without thinking about her own safety, she crawled out of her protective flower hideout and came face to face with Kisami just as the vines were about to hit her.

Cyan gasped, her pendant that rested in a circlet about her forehead began to glow a gentle deep green. "Be still, Agornathi. She is a friend, Sol incomptu." immediately the vines receded. When she felt her heart skip a beat she softened her stance and looked back at Kisami, "Kisami?"

'Agh...s**t.' Takaya watched as Kisami ran towards the location of the Demon of Nature. She took a lot of action at the slightest of implication. Just like he expected from his second. He trusted her decisions, but decided to send a message nonetheless. He tuned in to her blood scent, and sent a message, pricked his thumb, and whispered into her very life-essence. 'Do NOT, under any circumstances, harm the demon of nature. Talk to her. Bring her to our side. She's older than you or I, so she may be able to take you.' Takaya thought to her.

He quickly put out his cigarette and sent one more message. 'Bring her back to me when you've convinced her, Kisami. We've all a lot to discuss.'
