Ru'yah watched the water like a curious little cub. She got into position to pounce and awaited the arrival of a fish. She hadn't really eaten fish before... She wondered what it'd taste like... Slimy? Fish looked slimy, she knew that much. "I hope there's fish..." She said to Jaryx. She wanted to try eating one, just to know what it tasted like.

He split his focus between the lioness and the water. He wondered where she had come from; it must have been pretty laid back for her to be the way she was. Out of the corner of his eye, he spotted something swimming past them in the water and reached a paw out quickly to try to grab it.

Ru'yah pounced at whatever moved as well; which was somewhat of a mistake. Not only did she scare the... Whatever it was away, but she also almost ended up drowning. She splashed and freaked out, not quite registering before that this pool was fairly deep. After she managed to grab onto shore, she spit out a chunk of water that she accidently swallowed. "Oops."

The cheetah watched as the lioness leaned too far over and ended up watching as she flailed around in attempt to avoid drowning. He nearly contemplated if he could pull her out if he jumped in, but by the time he made up his mind, she had managed to pull herself ashore. "Are you alright?" he asked as she spit out a bunch of water.

"Yeah, I'm fine." She spit out a little more water. Well, that was just embaressing. She hadn't expected that she'd almost drown, nevertheless in front of the person she was suppost to be stalking. Ru'yah hauled herself out of the pool and laid drenched on land. She took a few deep breaths and then returned to her normal breathing rate. Thankfully, she wasn't hurt. Oh, how much dreadful pain would she be in if she was hurt? Then she'd have to drag herself around everywhere. And that, was just a little too much effort for her to bother using.

"Are you sure?" he asked, watching her. So far she didn't seem to be injured from what he could tell. "You do know how to swim, yes?" He questioned. Maybe if she didn't, he could help her out just in case something like that happened to her again. He watched as she continued to spit water before she pulled herself out of the water.

"... Only a little. " she mumbled. Ru'yah was quite embarrassed that she could only swim so well. Indeed, the lioness had never been taught to swim; she taught herself. Apparently she didn't do to well in self teaching. Jaryx could swim. Ru'yah watched him do so. She wondered who taught him to swim... Well, most animals are born with a few instincts of knowing how to swim in case they fall into the water, like a certain someone. Was Ru'yah lacking those instincts? Oh course not... This was only a one time thing... Right?

Jaryx once again looked at her curiously; she didn't really know how to swim after all? He wondered where she had lived as a cub that she hadn't had to learn how to swim properly. He could remember his mother forcing him and his cousin into the watering hole as cubs to learn so they wouldn't get hurt or drown if they fell in. "Would you like to be taught?" he asked her. Maybe if she was willing, he could help her out. It would be repayment for the earlier meal she had caught him.

"Yes," she muttered like a little shy cub. She wanted to learn, it was dangerous not too know how to swim. Besides, swimming looked fun, and she could cool herself down more when it got hot out.

Jaryx nodded and looked around the edges of the pool, hoping to find a shallow part to start her off in. He asked to be excused before he started walking around the water. A few paces from where he had left Ru'yah, he found what appeared to be a small shallow end of the pool. He stepped in himself to make sure before turning back to her. "Alright," he called, "come over here, please!"

Ru'yah obeyed, although it seemed she was getting progressingly more lazy as she had to resist groaning when she stood up. She semi-troted over to where Jaryx was and looked at him half-clueless. Then she remembered she was getting swimming lessons and looked at the water sheepishly. "So I just... Go in?" She asked, curious as to how this was going to work.

Once she was over there near him, he looked up at her. "Yeah, and don't worry, it's not too deep here," he reassured her and showed her how high it came up on his legs. The water was barely up past his forelegs. "Then relax and we can move on."

Ru'yah entered the water with a slightly worried look on her face. It went away quickly though, as she entertained herself by wiggling her toes. The muddy ground on the shallow side of the pool acted like a much more harmless quicksand trap. It slowly slinking through the spaces between her toes, this amused Ru'yah. She then turned her head and looked at Jaryx for further instructions on how to learn to swim.

Once she finally relaxed after stepping into the water, Jaryx gave her a small grin in encouragement. "There you go," he said calmly, "Now I'm gonna do something and then I'll tell you how to do it, okay?" Before she could respond, the cheetah took a breath and let his paws go out from under him so he could float. He stayed like that for a couple minutes before finding his footing again. "Now you try it. Just take a calm, deep breath and let your paws come out from under you."

Ru'yah nodded and attempted to copy the cheetah. She took a deep breath, and allowed her front paws to float up to the surface. She lifted one of her back feet too, but didn't seemed to want to completely let go of the ground. She took another deep breath, "It's alright, it will be fine." She muttered to herself. At last she lifted her right back foot of the ground and floated unevenly in the water. Still, she was impressed with herself, to be able to float on the water's surface. It felt like she was flying almost. The lioness grinned happily at that thought.
