Kiera fled up the stairs, and back to her room. She slammed the door, and dived under her covers. Still with her coat and shoes on. She didn't really care. When Hikari changed the sheets they'd be clean again. Hikari, down in the kitchen, noticed the slam, and winced. Amelie was in her bed playing with Dante, who had grown quite a lot. He was a large toddler, looking to be about 6. His hair was even more overgrown than Yuji's, and almost covered his eyes.

*Shorstraw looked sadly witha droop of his body as he heard the slam of keria door. "Damn she is still mad at me... Maybe i should just let her sleep... for awhile... yea...." He shied and looked to Hikari, "i knew it wasn't going to be easy wheni first got back either. I figured iw ould be tested, and have to show it was worth going, and then prove to kerai a few things and everythng else. I thought i was ready for all this a month ago but... i'm alittle afrade." He admitted to her looking for advice.*

Hikari sighed, and finished of drying some glasses with a teatowel. "Nice to see you again too, Shortstraw." She yawned a little, then put the glass back in one of the cupboards. "Honestly, i don't really know what you should do. I personally haven't seen her for a few days. She won't ever come down for dinner any more, like she used to. She was either out or in her room. I haven't had any chance to see what she's like at the moment. Although i suppose she's not too good right now." Hikari continued with her jobs, and got a mop out. "I can't help you this time, kiddo."

*He shied and stood stright, "then i guess I'm going to do the best thing a man can do." He started to walk to the stairs, "Wing it." He stepped up to the stairs and looked to Kerias door then took a breath. He then knocked. lightly incase she was asleep. "Keria... are you alseep already?" he spoke lowly just in case. he wouldn't want to wake her up again.
Meanwhile yuji stepped into his room and smerked, "Shortstraws back. It's looking good." He nodded and held a smile and sat down, "thing will be... alittle diffrent for a while i think." He looked to dontie, "later you two can hang out again i'm sure he's waiting to se eyou to again son. But right now he's still in love and he's doomed becuse he chose keria." He burst out laughing.

Amelie snickered on the bed. "There's always a storm brewing with a Yokai girl around. It can never be avoided." Dante looked a little confused at what they were talking about, but eventually smiled. "Shortstraw's back?" He suddenly looked excited. "I wanna see him!" Amelie chuckled. "Not right now, hun. He's dealing with your sister at the moment." Dante was confused again. "Huhh?"
Kiera covered herself in the sheets, and mumbled a little before she said. "No." She didn't know if she wanted him in there. Even after two years she couldn't quite make up her mind. This was just stupid, she thought. So she got up out of her bed, untangled herself from the covers, walked over to the door and opened it resentfully. "What is it?"

*He looked up to her and nodded, "Two things. One I'm sorry. And two, well we used to sorta share the room and i thought since i was back... maybe... we could again..." He shrugged, "I mean it's always been your room, i just... thought maybe um..." He shied and frowned slumping, "Screw it. I'm winging it okay. I'm tired from the four and ahalf day walk all the way here. Can i rest too?" He replied coming out with the last bit.

Kiera blinked rapidly, before looking away. She didn't speak, just opened the door a little wider so he could come inside. Once he did, she shut the door, and put her back against it. After, she walked over to the bed and sat on it with her legs crossed, and put her face in her palms. The room was really dark, the curtains drawn. She sighed. "Just don't leave again." She still had her head in her hands.

*Shorstraw nodded* "I promes i won't ever leave like that again. And if i ever absolutly had no choice but to, i'll take you with me." He stood tall and spoke serously. He then smiled and walked over to her, "I felt horrable after i went over that hill. I was trying to be strong that whole time but... i didn't. I was thinking about you all the time when i was out there. Once..." he chukkled, "I was in this city right like rome-ish and i was behind this wall as this demon was walking around looking for me. And i thought what would you do." He laughed, "that demon found me becuse i failed but, i ended up inprovising and winning in the end." He nodded. "And keria i miss being able to sleep... with you..." He blushed, "Your so warm and out there it was cold all the time... and there was no houses or shelter either hardly, most of the time i had to sleep alone in areas taht were wide open." He placed verias gift ontop of the nightstand, "i hoped you missed me as much as i did you."

Kiera frowned. "I've been cold ever since you left. My blood isn't warm and my skin looks paler. I'm not so sure that i'll be so nice to hug any more." She paused, rubbing her face with her hands then looked to Shortstraw. "I missed you since the minute you left. To the minute you came back. I went back to how i was before i met you. Secluded from my family, sleeping a lot, training with Asher. I haven't been able to do anything." She looked away. "I don't know how i should be, now. Part of me thought you were going away for good. The other part of me said to get a hold of myself and stop reliving the past. The more i think about it the more i'll be influenced by it in my life now. You as a prime example." She shut her eyes. "Every night i've woken up screaming. I haven't had a good sleep in two years."

*Shortstraw sat next to her ont he bed. "Well i did hope that you wouldn't go back tot he way thigs were before you met me. Honistly i was hoping that you would just continue alittle without me instead of letting your life be horrableon perpose. It dosn't amtter now..." He smiled, "i'm back and i'm not going anywhere without you. But i would like you to promese me somthing in return. I promes i wont leave you behind and run off without you ever again. But you have to promese to let the things that happened in your past go, and finally step forword in the hallway inside you. I'm always been there to help you if you get lost, but somtimes its all up to you takeing the next step youknow. Metifors are new to me, but you have my point. He hugged her, "your never be that light if you are stuck in the dark all the time fearing to loose." He smiled. She was stil warm to him. Although it felt alittle odd that she was alittel taller now he ended up with his face just in her chest. But it was a hug none the less he wasn't going to pull away unless she said somthing.*

Kiera frowned. "Sometimes it's not as simple as that. I know i should move on." She shook her head. "It's like the one thing i've based my life around. The foundations for who i am. I can't get rid of it so easily. I've thought about it, i have. But it's not something can define." She hugged him back. She forgot how much she'd missed that. Some life just got spirited back to her in that moment. She broke down a little. "You're not going to leave me ever again. Ever."

*Shorstraw smiled, "I wont. But keria it's not about getting rid of all that made you, you. It's just the start point. Like a map, you start one place and work your way slowly to another and keep going untill you find the tresure. Your my tresure. And i found you becuse i kept going and found eve." He chukkled, "ALthough these hugs are defently... better..." he laughed however dared not to go to far with the joke. He was older after all, he was now begining to think alot more like a guy would.

Kiera smiled, finally. He still had that same effect on her that he had two years ago. She missed it, a lot. That charisma that just made her feel better if she talked with him, no matter what mood she was in. No one else effected her like this, and she had a warm feeling in her stomach again. Which spread like a wildfire. She didn't care that she was much taller than him. Just that he was actually here. Here to scare away all the bad dreams. "I can try for you Shortstraw. But only for you."

*Shortstraw smiled happily.* "Okay then i guess i still have my girl" He laughed. He oculd fell her warmth rise inside her. He was already out soon enough though, fast alseep. Being here really did walk for four and a half days straght without stopping to get to keria on time. Ans that was after a full final day of the hardest training he did.*

Kiera fell asleep soon after, hugging him tight. She missed this so much. She knew she was going to have a good sleep for once, too, now that he was back. Asher watched from the door. Seeing those two back together was refreshing, to say the least. And she was glad Kiera didn't show to hold a grudge against Shortstraw. Well, didn't show, at least. Asher walked outside the door. "Sleep well.."
