"Worried about what, Jerry? You should really be specific about such things you know."

Jerry inhaled deeply. He exhaled deeply. His expression hardened. He inhaled again in an attempt to calm himself, but really it just turned into hyperventilating before he lunged for the second glass.

The doctor's smile shifted into something smaller, an twist of quiet satisfaction. Then he was lifting his own glass, murmuring lightly, "Why yes, or course you may have a drink, Jerry. Please do help yourself."

It was easier to speak after another quick drink. His nerves were still entirely shot, unfortunately. "Sh-she.... she f-found out something but things were... were... geting p-prickly even before... before her capture... for a long time shes been... been p-pulling away and I just... after she-" He shook his head.

None of H's business.

He needed to get out of here.

He took another drink.

"If... if she does come here, sir." He drummed his fingers nervously on his glass. "Please... please just tell her what she wants to know. Don't play games with her." His lips pursed, he thought for a moment about taking the rest of the bottle with but he was already pushing his luck. He set his glass down as he wobbled to his feet, the room swimming a bit. His brows furrowed, "And don't lay a FINGER-" He hesitated, "Or ANYTHING ELSE on her, you understand?" Jaw set again. Deep, what he felt was threatening, scowl.

The warning earned a laugh from the other man, "Oh, no worries, I never have to force my attentions, Jerry. But I do so love my games." Taking a sip of his drink he considered what Jerry had said, "You don't seem to have a very clear idea of what the problem happens to be. Which is sad. So I'll let you in, on a little secret that you probably already know. That sweet, considerate girl, all innocence and breathless purity and wide-eyed awe at finding herself in a whole new world? She never existed..." he paused a moment, considering, "...or rather, she only existed for the sake of a man who is now quite dead. And so the actual person steps forward and well...destroys the remains. Which quite possibly...includes your so-called love."

With a shrug, the doctor leaned back on his elbows and studied his glass, "It's not at all unusual really. After all, do you like who you used to be? The little boy, hapless and helpless in the face of his own fears and addictions?" A wistful smile and a sigh, "Your father was a mess too, but I think I like you better."

The dark amber liquid remaining in the bottom of Jerry's glass was threatening to splash as his hand trembled. His eyes clenched shut as though H had physically delivered a blow to his stomach.

When he had met her, he had loved her. He had wanted to protect that innocence. Help her stay that beautiful creature of music and light. But nothing good lasted here. And now...

He was ripped from his thoughts as the rest of H's words sank in, his eyes opening again in sudden confusion.

"You... knew my father?"

Gesturing widely with his glass, the doctor smiled, "Collins bloodline and all that. He wasn't very fun though, held it all in until he imploded, which was nice, but very boring in the lead-up, you know? Oh...well, of course you don't know," he gave Jerry a sympathetic look, "...after all, how could you?"

Even in the haze of alcoholic cushioning, Jerry kept his face unreadable, save for a slight furrow of his brow. His eyes were now locked on H's unnervingly casual expression. "What happened to him?" He could imagine the answer. It was fairly predictable. What happened to Hunters that 'imploded'.

His stomach churned all the same.

"Suicide, of a sort," the doctor gave Jerry a pleasantly expectant look. "Why? Are you planning on following in daddy's footsteps, or is this just morbid curiosity because you can't help but make your own life worse. Either way, do know I'll always be here to help you along. I've hmm..." he smiled, "...got your back, as they say."

A very groggy Wash was traipsing through the life labs, hoping to get back to the dorms and a hot (group) shower to help ease off the rest of the affects of the rather intense drugs. God, they really took their jenga seriously here. He paused for a moment, leaning against a door to rub the sleep out his eyes.

"What happened to him?"

A familiar voice, if unusually strained. Jerry? The sound seemed to be coming from the other side of the door - but wasn't this the doctor's -

"Suicide, of a sort."

What was Jerry doing in Dr. H's office? Wasn't Sasha supposed to be meeting with him? But as he kept listening, his eyebrows climbed into his hairline. What on Earth? A scowl deepening his features, he knocked very loudly, before trying for the handle. Jerry certainly wasn't having a good day, and this kind of talk wasn't going to help him any.

Jerry had opened his mouth to speak, but closed it again. His brain was aching. Just then, he wanted nothing more than to crumple in the chair and pass out.

Did H really know his father? Had known? Was he just... ******** with him? It was hard to tell, especially under these emotional circumstances.

Wash's knock and sudden voice made him jump, and he quickly drained his glass.

"I... I'm alright, Wash," He managed, although his voice was a hoarse, bourbon-burnt choke.

Wash opened the door hesitantly, slipping his head and shoulders in.

"You don't look alright," he remarked carefully. "Say, I'm sure that th' Doctor's got plenty to keep him busy, why don't you an' I go catch some air?"

He shot H a cursory glance. It was unspeakably rude, barging in that office and dragging his friend out when they were clearly in the middle of...something. But he didn't like the look on Jerry's face, and what little he heard had been...unsettling. He had to protect his friend. Words could leave insidious wounds, and Jerry was having a rough enough time as it was.

He opened the door the rest of the way, offering the other man an out.

Jerry was torn. On one hand... H was pressing buttons. Was he just pulling his strings? Changing the subject? His head was spinning, exploding, melting out his ears.

He couldn't deal with this right now.

The room contorted, feeling large, engulfing, and for a moment he thought he would collapse to the floor.

He managed to stand up without falling. His eyes narrowed on H, his lips pursed tightly as he straightened his coat. "Sir."

He grabbed the bottle off of the desk, tottered slightly, before turning to follow his moon's lead.

A Sun had to trust his Moon. Especially when the Sun nearly fumbled into the door frame in his attempt to sweep out with his dignity intact. Or what remained of it.

As far as Jerry was concerned, conversations could continue when he wasn't feeling the urge to pass out or scream or both.

The doctor gave them both an amused pinkie wave, softly humming My Heart Will Go On as they left with his bottle.
