Rylis stumbled to a halt and in the brief moment before his opponent struck he realized that his blow had gone wild and missed. Turning about, he managed to see only dark forms shooting his way. With no time to react, the sheep poke'mon took the full brunt of the attack. Another bleat sounded and a wild thunderbolt shot out, more for his own defense than anything.

((Shadow Ball dealt 300 damage last turn. (100 base + 50 attack boost) x 2 crit modifier. Don't worry too much about editting it - Faint attack deals 150 damage and doesn't miss.))
Mephistopheles was blown back by the electric blast, and landed in the grass below. Floating back up, he formed a lance of darkness between his hands. His eye began to glow and the lance vanished. Similar lances appeared floating before the tendrils, and they all whipped them towards the flaafy with lightning speed and precision.
Mephistopheles bowed before the Flaafy and went up to Lenore. Lenore called out to the other trainer. "Mef says if you want a rematch, you can contact us at the gym. He says you were a worthy opponent, or something." To her side, Mephistopheles nodded his approval. The duo turned and left.

Rylis dropped to the ground with a soft whine. Looking up from the grass he gave a very short, very brief nod in acknowledgement. He'd heard the statement but he wasn't in the mindset to respond. Behind him his trainer was dancing nervously along the sidelines, pale as a sheet and frantic to boot.
It was only after the ghost poke'mon and its trainer turned and left that the youth was able to rush out onto the grass to collect his poke'mon.
"I'm sorry... I didn't know what I was doing I... c...come on there's a poke'mon center..."
