Serenity colored at his words and gave a little nod. He moved over to hand him the dress and held up her hands lightly at the praise. "Well, shopping is a way of life, dear. You get judged on appearance no matter where you're going and what you're doing. It's my motto in life to always, always look your best. Even if you're doing something completely graceless, like going to the washing.. place they have. Put on your best clothes." She gave him a bit of a wink and looked around the store a bit more. "Now she'll need shoes, a matching bag, and some accessories to go with that. Unless you just wanted to get her the dress?" She turned to look at him again, pushing white bangs out of her face. She was watching him expectantly. She doubted that Jett had expected buying a dress would be so long and involved, but there it was. "If you have time, money and are willing, the best thing to do for her, is to book a day for her at the spa. You know, mani-pedi. Then book her an appointment at the hair salon of her choice. So she can look absolutely perfect and glowing. They'll do her make up, too. Then when she's home, have the outfit already laid out on the bed all nice and pretty." Aaah, it would be so romantic if he did it.

Well, damn. It seemed like girls were always going to be difficult to please. He had expected to buy only a dress, but if this was the girl code, then he couldn't very easily expect a dress alone to serve as a good gift. If this helpful fashionista was going to go through the effort to help him pick out a good dress, it was only fitting that he go the whole mile. "I might have to save the trip to a spa for the next time I want to really impress her, but it's a good idea. The shoes, bag and accessories…I could handle that."
Theoretically. He had been shoe shopping with Raven, and Heaven forbid, it would be the end of the world if she didn't get another pair of shoes. And another bag. Accessories, he could try to justify, but even he, flashy as he was, only had so many ties.
"You sure that whole plan isn't a little too domineering?" he prompted, more than ready to trust the girl, but unable to avoid the nagging in the back of her head. "I don't want her to think I'm running her life by picking out the whole outfit. She'd probably criticize me and have 'something better' to wear anyway," he confessed with a laugh, though wasn’t entirely joking about the whole thing.

Well, she hadn't thought of it as being too domineering. Frowning at the thought, she paused in her step and tuned to look at her. "You're a good guy. I hadn't thought of that! Well, I suppose, just a nice necklace should suffice. I'm sure she has an amazing array of accessories and shoes to go with it, hm?" Ah, well. Serenity didn't know what every girl liked. Sometimes less was more, after all! Serenity had some fairly simple outfits that explained that rule, bought by her dearest, darling momsie and popsie. "The more I think about it," she said, tapping a lip with her finger, making a little 'hming' noise, "the more I think you're right. Yes. Definitely just one accessory and you can call it a day! After all, you probably still have plans and want to get away from a perfect stranger, hm?" She was teasing him now, giving him a playful look as she shook her head. "Either way, you know what kind of necklaces your girlfriend wears, so I doubt you'll need my help." Maybe this is where they parted ways. Ah, well. "So, until we meet again?" She looked up at the boy expectantly, as if waiting for something. What, she didn't know, but whatever.

Oh, he knew what type of necklaces Raven liked. The expensive ones. He grinned and then held out a hand for the girl. "You have been an amazing help, Serenity, I can't thank you enough."
And what should he do, tip her? Of course, that was a whole other level of odd; who tipped random strangers regardless of how helpful they were? Holding the dress gently, as if it were something capable of easy damage, he affirmed, "Until we meet again. I'm afraid I can't do much to repay you. I don't have similar expertise in any field I suspect you'd be interested in, though I suppose if ever you are interested in antiques, I could return the favor."
…Or if she just needed some heavy lifting. What with how fashionable and modern she was, he didn't imagine she'd be the sort to ever wander into an antique store. "Either way, I hope to see you around some time, I owe you. Maybe the next time we cross paths, I'll be able to repay that debt."
Or they'd never run into each other and he could sweep this debt under the rug. But if it made Raven happy…
Then it would be a good idea to have an intelligent woman friend by which to consult for gifts.
Ugh, women were so complicated.

Serenity just grinned and shrugged a little more. Owed her? Maybe, maybe not. Right now the girl couldn't think of anything she needed, or would want to ask him for. After all, Serenity was just doing something a girl would do! And, despite being taken, she did get to spend time with a cute guy. "Really, don't worry about it! It was fun enough meeting you and getting to shop at the same time. Some of my favorite things, you know," she said with a wink. "Until next time!" She had a feeling she would see him again. With that, Serenity put her hands behind her back and wandered away with a happy smile on her face. The pale girl had a good day, but now she was hungry all over again. Which meant it was time to go home and see what was prepared.
