But in time, he had no other choice but to accept and deal with it. Eiji's presence here was a balm on that aspect. He might have forgotten the past, but it seemed like the past had not forgotten him.

If she had found him, then it was likely others might. He had the feeling he now knew exactly what the important thing he had forgotten was. The nagging feeling was quieter now. The subconscious was a powerful thing, Ti Lung was already well aware of that. That he might have worried for children he had not even remembered having made sense, if he had, on some level, been aware enough of his past mistakes with Auriga to avoid them this time around.

"You are not broken." He repeated. He would repeat it endlessly, if it was what it took for Eiji to believe it. "Well, I like the sound of 'granddad'." Oh dear. To think that used to worry Illisia. Seemed a little late to start worrying about it now, really. "Or Xun, if you would rather that."

Eiji smiled, a little crookedly. She supposed a god who didn't remember, but cared and wanted to help, was much better than a god who didn't exist, and much, much better than a god who remembered but didn't care at all. (There were sects of mortals who believed that the one god didn't give a fig for anyone at all; she had found that a sympathetic point of view growing up. Surely any caring God would have made her properly.)

Reassured, she nodded once. "Grandfather," she said, experimentally. Granddad sounded far too informal to be the form of address for a god, relative or not. Maybe it'd be different if they were more closely related, but thirty-four generations separated them, and she wasn't quite a proper child of his anyway...

But she might be, one day. She had hope for the future, for once, finally. A thought occurred then, and she asked, hopefully, "Is it alright if I come to visit? I'm... I wasn't intending to go far, whether you were here or not, because there's a lot of kinds of magic to try. I'm good at magic, and if I can't go back a dragon I may as well go back with another skill--" Maybe they'd like her more then, she'd always thought. Loving lack of acceptance aside, she did want to make her family proud...

Realizing she was rambling again, she finished demurely, "--I mean, if it's alright with you. That I visit."

"You can stay here, if you want." He nodded. Glyph would not mind - there were many empty rooms for such a purpose, after all. "Then you can explore the pantheon and its surroundings with no worries of finding some place to rest." Eiji would always be welcome here, he would make sure of it.

She flushed red, and said, "I'm actually staying at the university a town over, I'm sort of... Well, I'm guest lecturing in their folklore classes because I do know a lot about that..." It sort of came part and parcel with growing up as a member of a secret tribe of dragons, she thought. Understanding mythology when you were mythological yourself was easy. It was still hard to turn down a kindness! Especially when it was an offer as kind as Xun's. "I didn't get to go to college, so it's kind of fun to get to... hang out. But I promise I will come visit, Grandfather."

The smallish dragon-child shrugged, shoving her hands back into her sleeves. "I could show you my pearl if you want to see," she offered. A ryuko's pearl was thought to be the font of their mana; they were born with them and held them close through their lives. Eiji was especially protective of hers, but it couldn't hurt to show Xun Jiang such a thing. "I have it at home."

Her refusal was met with a nod, and that was that. As long as he got to see her, he would be happy. It was not like Elik lived here either, after all.

"I would not mind coming to see, myself." He had never been to college either, of course, but the Dragon King saw no need to mention the obvious. Night Elves did not have colleges, not in the human sense at least.

A pearl... There was something here, oddly familiar, but of course no true recollection came. "I would like to see your pearl... And to hear about your people, as well." He could not remember, no, but he could learn anew. And what better teacher could he find on that aspect. "You are the first to seek me out."

Twisting her fingers together, Eiji smiled shyly and said, "If you want. I have to unpack my things still, but…" But wow, she wasn't used to living by herself. It'd always been youth hostels before, and now she had a whole apartment space to herself. It was really too much but they hadn't had anything smaller in the lecturer's quarters, and apparently she could not bunk with students.

"I'm sure more will come, Grandfather," she said, "The word of the Gods is spreading. Not just you, but all of them. Mortals are curious." Maybe more than any other kind of being, thought Eiji with no small amount of amusement. "I will tell you everything I know," she promised. "But next time. I should go, before it's dark."

If the others had known he was reborn, then why had they not come ? He had to tell himself that there had to be a reason. Maybe the ryuko were still recovering from Gehenna. Maybe they were waiting for him to come to them, futile as it would have been - and it had taken someone like Eiji to break the circle.

For now, through, it was not important. "Yes, you should." He nodded. "If there is anything I can help you with, please let me know ?"

She dipped into a careful bow, hands still folded before her, and then straightened. "If you don't mind," she said, giving Xun another shy smile. "I'll come visit again soon, I promise."

With that said, she turned and darted away. Still, it wasn't the embarrassed retreat she'd always imagined; this time, she felt hope.
