He was slightly frustrated, but less so with Bul and more so with himself, with the entire situation that they were now faced with. Neither side could assure the other of what they really wanted to be reassured of, which made things difficult, but at the very least they were having a real, honest conversation with one another that didn't involve trying to blast a hole in the other.
Gale really hoped that it wouldn't end that way either. He'd desummoned Jinhai, after all - it was a sign of submission without submitting. He couldn't deny that he felt uneasy without the weapon in his hands, but he knew that Mei and Bul - at least right now - would not attack.
And neither would he. He held up both hands again, palms forward.
"I wouldn't expect you to accept the weaponization project," he said. "Just as I don't accept some of your customs. And I wouldn't expect you to fight against your own kind, just as I won't fight against my teammates. We don't have to agree with each other on certain aspects; just this one, that we're both fervently against the horsemen."
Gale took a small breath and continued. "I know this is something that neither of us ever thought we'd be doing. Bloody hell, when Mei first said she wanted to talk, the last thing I thought it would be was this. But if this can work, if we can fight and defeat the horsemen..."
He trailed off, hearing Jinhai make a small noise of assent in his head. Gale's gaze flickered towards Bul.
"I will work with you," he said quietly, hardly daring to believe the words were coming out of his mouth. Caelius would probably murder him, had he heard, but right now this was what he wanted.
"I will fight with you on this issue if you will fight with me."

Mei nodded, satisfied with Gale's reply. "Fair enough." At least that bit was cleared up.
In all honesty, Mei had never expected to hear a hunter willing to work with them, but she was relieved. If their goals were the same, then all the better they work together on this. There was no doubt that others, from both sides, would frown on what they were discussed here. But she didn't care anymore.
Smiling, Mei reached out and took Bul's hand when offered to her. "Alright then. There's not much more that can be said right now, but.." Reaching into her pocket, she pulled out a spare phone she had on her for a while. "I kept this on the off chance we'd encounter each other again." Handing it to Gale, she placed it into his hand. "Just in case we need to contact each other. Also--" Holding her hand over both his hand and the phone, she focused her fear into creating a small emblem, withdrawing her hand when finished. "--just to prove I mean what I say."
Her gaze shifted back to Bul, as she offered a weak smile. She sure hoped she was doing the right thing.

Bul did not nod. Instead he continued to quietly stare at Gale, his hand tightening around Mei's. He didn't even look down at the phone when it was passed over. Something was eating at him. "I won't give you my emblem... I don't want you guys making freaky clones of me," he said exchanging a quick glance with Mei. "But I WILL shake on it..." Reaching out, the boil exposed his other hand to the hunter, the little spines on the ends of his knuckles shrinking down into his skin.
"Gale-"
he shortly added, a cold tone in his voice. "Removing the horsemen won't change any of that, you know. I want to know that afterwards you come after me before you go after Mei. And pass it on to your human buddies too."
