I've seen it around Gaia too , the misconception that we rejected Jesus, way-back-when because we were expecting this "Mighty an' Awsome Warrior" that would smite our enemy's and "instead" comes this skinny fella with a short beard, and 'love is all' tattoed to his forehead.

It just can't be that we don't believe him , because he, say, broke Shabbat, or preached against Kosher laws, y'know?

The Hebrew Hammer takes all those stereotypes and spins them in their heads. I love-and own- that movie, which is a big deal because I usually don't like things enough to buy them on DVD. Isn't the guy who directed it, or starred in it or something, Adam Somebody... isn't he dating Christina Ricci?

hollywierd tends to be pro jewish, on a purely per capita basis. It is probably because of people Like Jeff Goldbloom that several stereotypes are created.

2 non jewish major religions of the world (christians and moslims) consider the Jewish race to be the "elite" of G-d's calling, historically, if nothing else. - people have a bad tendency of putting down that which they cannot have and someone else HAS... even if its only a perception.

When someone gets ripped off in this city, the most popular term to use, is "that's pretty jewish"/"you got jewed". A friend irl is Jewish, and he uses the same catch phrase.

edit: Kik - a teen channel for Israel on the web, looked like MTV. Didn't make Israel look "good". If i was Moses (which many muslims think they are) and I saw Kik TV for just 5 minutes, I would be calling down some fire from the sky. Same goes for MTV or anything of the sort. Debauchery is a word that applies.

I hate the big, fat, arrogant, stupid, rich, controlling stereotype most of all, but another stereotype that I don't think has been mentioned yet is that Jews have really big noses! That's almost funny it is so stupid. sweatdrop

Most annoying stereotype? Tied between the 'Zionist conspiracy' and 'Jews are white'. Judaism is a religion, idiot, not just a culture. Just as there are black Christians, there are black Jews, etc, etc. It really annoys me.

*shrugs* My classmates don't know that, though, and I don't feel like giving them a history of anti-Semitism. I'm the only Jew they know, and I'm as white as snow.
